I was wild for this place. Perfect French onion soup, lamb chops, fried chicken, and an amazing plate of carnitas with the freshest sour cream & avocado I’ve seen in a long time. (Actually, not sure I’ve seen either this fresh and appealingly presented at all.) We finished with a couple of desserts (it was Mother’s Day, after all) — a deliciously dark chocolate mousse and a slice of cherry pie. Yup. It was amazing as well. We’ll be back to try the burgers, salads, and fries. Sweet, funky décor with a small patio that looks like it’ll call our name in the summer.

Cute little place with nice staffs. Mixed menu of Mexican, Italian and American. I had the salmon over salad. Sadly my salmon was too dried. Love their fries tho. It’s a hit and miss for me.

I spent 70 for two people here, but we got only an appetizer and two entries… the food is good and service too. Just think it is $$$ instead of $$. Pulled pork sandwich is a must try!

Rustic environment was great. Nothing else was.
The menu of this French comfort food place was filled with items such as fish and chips and Greek salad. We ordered the «best» fries which were not «best» and were cooked in the same oil as the fish and chips. Hence the fishy taste.
Service was French. The think they are doing you a favor cooking your good and taking your money. For all this great service they have themselves a 20% tip for our party of 7 that included 4 toddlers.

This is crap! We told them we had a vegan. They recommend some salad. We ordered it, and there was cheese, eggs, and just to add to that they gave us bread with butter and said it was in the deal. The food is disgusting. No one in our group of 9 people were satisfied with this. I do not recommend this.

We’d driven by this place a hundred times. It looks rustic and charming, and idea of «French comfort food» sounded appealing. It never looked very crowded, but we ventured for dinner on a Saturday night. The service was quite good, the outside has picnic tables and a heat lamp, and the wines were a decent pour, my white nicely chilled. Next came the warm Napa cabbage salad. It looked like leftovers and seemed microwaved. Definitely not freshly prepared. I got the fried chicken and «best fries». The meat was grey, greasy and loaded with gristle. The batter was pasty. Both the chicken and fries seemed prepared in oil that had been used often and for other items, with a nearly spoiled tasting sweetness. He got the ribeye. Nearly half the cut was fat. The side of broccoli and carrots were probably frozen, the potatoes like leftover slices better off in a breakfast hash. With all the wonderful choices in the Bay Area, spend your $ 100 elsewhere.

Hit and miss meal. Quaint and a bit rustic, we were served our tea right away. Then after placing our order, waited for the meal until after another table who arrived some minutes after us were seated and served. Perhaps they were friends?
The salad accompanying the sandwich was tasty, though too salty. Three of us dining; the BBQ pulled pork was reported as flavorful, but dry and needed more sauce; the accompanying potato salad just okay. The Croque Madame was good. The biggest disappointment was the most anticipated sandwich because it was unique: an appealing sounding combination with chicken, brie and roasted peppers (I don’t recall its menu name). Unfortunately dry and tasteless.
I was also a little disappointed that we were not offered refills of our tea, in fact were pretty much unattended until we asked for cookies after lunch and more tea. The chocolate chip cookies were good. We were served after the cookies a small pot of hot water, but no return of the tea selections. I clearly asked for more tea, intending to pay, but instead reused the original tea bag.
At this point, I’m still enjoying the company of my companions, a little annoyed at the inconsistent service, but not ticked off. That occurred shortly after when I asked that the cash be used to make change and the bill paid with the credit card. I calculated the correct 22% tip, and we paid and left.
What ticked me off was hearing what was said about me, and a family with a small child who arrived just before we left. I don’t look rich, or like I live in Woodside, but I’ve lived all over and have a smattering of languages.
Beyond the business of running her restaurant, she needn’t have mentioned my appearance as we were leaving, and that we were lingering too long. I didn’t catch all of her comments about the family, but the little boy was behaving well.
Paying customers deserve better than to be treated that way. The total bill for lunch was just under $ 66 — a bit higher than a diner like Black Bear or even a bit more than a Hobies; but reasonable if the food and service rate, which this did not.

This was our first time coming to this restaurant and decided to try it after reading the reviews. Cute establishment but the food was okay and price was a little high. The dinner salmon plate is what we ordered. The vegetables and rice were iced cold like just taken out of the refrigerator and salmon overcooked. May try one more time for the lunch menu to see if different and then decide if we’d ever return.

What a discovery. As one who appreciates the libations at The Refuge and the Gourmet Haus but wishes the food were more interesting– I’ve found the perfect spot.
They make truly authentic French country food. The warm cabbage salad. French onion soup and coq au vin were transporting. The owners cook, serve and speak to each other French which, in the middle of Woodside, felt quite exotic.
Now for the beer. A small but sublime selection of drafts served on the proper glasses at full measured pours. Truly reasonable prices compared to the Haus and Refuge and with folksy ambiance. Several bottled options too but we prefer draft. I got .5 liter of St. Feuillien triple for $ 6. Amazing.

Incredibly good food. Run by a lovely couple. French onion soup and warm napa cabbage salad were the best I’ve ever had. Hubby had the Parisienne burger which had a delicious sauce on it, top of swiss cheese and served on a ciabatta. Crazy tasty fries. Killer apple pie. All food was just plain good! Price was on point for what we got. Not super quick (I did mention it was a couple, not a crew, running it), but worth the wait and the bill. Very happy, will be returning.

You can order wrong here. The mexican food I ordered was very bland and I was grateful for the salt and pepper on the table. If only they’d get a higher quality cheese! Add some seasoning! I realized later that I should have ordered the french onion soup that people on Unilocal like. I spent the whole lunch fantasizing about Gordon Ramsay walking in and taking the food up a notch. It’s a cute place in a great location. But just average eats.

Been here a half dozen times or so. The burgers and «the best» fries are quite good, so I order them frequently when I come here. But they have other interesting food which looks quite good. I believe the chef is from Austria and his partner is from France, so it makes for an interesting spot in quaint Woodside. I’m glad I live nearby.

First time at the Little Store Restaurant after a 5 mile hike at Wunderlich. Really cute place — loved the small outside seating with the little garden and small water fountain. The lady (owner I assume?) was pleasant but not overly friendly. Food was good I had a croque monsieur. I always thought there was supposed to be mayo spread on top though with the cheese, but it was still good. I did like the chilled glasses for wine. It was perfect on a nice summer day. I will definitely come back here again. Would love to try some other items on the menu.

Cute place, average food and service.
We sat outside, and I had to go and get the menu myself because it was obvious that it will take a while.
The warm napa cabbage salad was very average — absolutely nothing special.
BLT sandwich was OK but the bread was over-​toasted and very hard.
Service was very average as well.
Overall, nothing to write home about, and I doubt very much we’ll return.

Small, quaint and friendly. Wood side has changed in the years since I was in school up here. But well worth the drive through. Nice little restaurant with a real feel to it. Four stars for the ambiance

This is the kind of dinning experience my girlfriend always looks for. The environment is totally unique. The chef is friendly and cooks great food. We had the ribs, and beef bugnion and a unusually great warm napa cabbage salad. Service was great. Lovely seating indoor and out.

We were ravenous after a 6.5 mile hike on Windy Hill. Stopped in to try this place and we were all happy with our choices. I went for a bacon cheeseburger and fries :). It was just what the doctor ordered!

Lovely staff, delicious delicious food.
Going to be one of my regular spots.
