We specialize in dog walking, pet sitting, private, in-​home boarding and basic obedience training. We also offer overnight stays in your home. Our highly trained pet professionals are not only animal lovers but also pet specialists. There isn’t a breed we’re not familiar with and we take care of everyone from puppies to seniors with extra TLC. Have a pet that requires shots or special meds? No problem. We are affiliated with many local area Vets and can arrange transportation to and from appointments if needed. By the way, we don’t just take care of dogs. Your Dog’s Best Friend offers a variety of Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Services. We understand that most dog owners lead very busy lives and often work extended hours so we offer a variety of programs that can accommodate your busy schedule.

Our dog walking service is customized to you and your dogs. Every new client will receive an in home consultation at no cost at which time we will discuss the needs of your pets and your specific schedule.

We also offer a variety of pet sitting services tailored to suit your needs. We can arrange to come to your home and feed and walk your pets as many times as you like throughout the day.

In addition to doing the daily visits, we also offer sleepover services where one of us will spend the night in your home. We are happy to accommodate extended stays, please book in advance.

Also ask about our private, in home boarding which is limited to only a few dogs.

Hello. My name is Laura Vorreyer and I started «Your Dog’s Best Friend» in 2003 because I LOVE dogs.

I am grateful to be in business ever since 2003 and am lucky enough to have some great dog lovers and pet people join me along the way.

Growing up in Chicago, my best friend was a black Labrador retriever named Ginger. Ginger was a part of my family and we all loved her very much.

I started «Your Dog’s Best Friend» because I believe in the special bond between humans and their pets. I understand the anxiety your dog feels when you are not around and I completely sympathize with those that have to leave their pets at home all day.

The goal of «Your Dog’s Best Friend» has always been the same; to provide excellent pet care to animals and the people that love them! I am pleased being Your Dog’s Best Friend and look forward to meeting with you and your pets soon.

Laura is the greatest!!! She is highly professional, knowledgeable and cares immensely about your pet. Laura is reliable, and has a wonderful nature and gets along well with people as well as your pet.
She sends pictures as well as comments, when you are gone, so you know how your pet is doing. We were nervous to leave our beloved Champ; however, we shouldn’t have been. She and here staff took wonderful care of our pet and kept our home in immaculate condition.
Champ was happy to see us when we got home; however, as the night wore on, he was looking for Laura. He missed her! That alone tells me that she was very good to him while we were away!!!
I would highly recommend Laura and her staff. You will not be disappointed!!!

Laura is Amazing! Found her at the last minute and she was so sweet and accommodating! She had my boy for 11 nights and he had a blast! She regularly updated my and sent me pics so I could feel close to him. I knew he was just fine but I am a huge sap and needed lots of checking in just because I missed him. I picked him up today and he was happy, healthy and CLEAN! I didn’t ask for a bath but Laura made sure he was clean and smelled great! I will definitely be using Laura again, Archie is buddies with her pup, so he will be thrilled to visit! I know he will be in good hands and would recommend Laura to everyone! Thanks Laura for keeping my boy safe and happy!

Thank you Laura! I cannot list enough positive comments about Laura and her hosting service! We were concerned about leaving our Golden Doodle and Standard Poodle for several days. After searching out many other folks we found Laura. She was so friendly and welcoming and after visiting it was clear how much she puts into her service and how serious she is about taking care of our pups. The boys immediately settled in and had a great time. Laura sent us pics throughout their stay so we felt connected. Laura was also very flexible working around our schedule. And the boys were very happy and doing great when we picked them up. We didn’t have a thing to worry about and felt a tremendous sense of relief knowing that Laura was taking care of them. They can’t wait to come back!

First of all Laura is the BEST! We use to travel a lot, and before meeting Laura they saw suitcases, they knew what was happening & wouldn’t leave our sides. This meant lockup at doggy hotel. Things have changed — Now whenever we go out of town Laura swings by our house to pickup the girls (which itself is a HUGE lifesaver on travel days alone) The moment she pulls in the driveway its party time, our Bassett hound lets the whole neighbourhood know her favourite person has arrived & our cocker spaniel cannot welcome herself any quicker into her car. If there’s one way to feel less loved by your dogs this is it. I’m kidding. It truly is the best feeling to have before heading away traveling.
A few days prior to our most recent trip our Bassett had developed a very serious sneeze, which led to a specialist trip & nasal surgery. We were told to give her medications, keep her comfortable & avoid excitement– it would trigger the sneezing which would lead to broken blood vessels, blood & so on. The morning Laura came over sure enough our Bassett got excited & started having her sneeze attack. I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t send her anywhere like this! I almost cancelled the trip. Then Laura asked how I felt about her coming by 3x a day to feed, play, let the dogs outside, give the Basset her medication & so on… Given this was any other person I probably would have declined considering my dogs situation but I knew she was is good hands. Laura is the best thing that I’ve come across on Unilocal.I would highly recommend anytime!
Oh, and she sends the sweetest photo’s of the dogs throughout the trip! I love this too :)

I was a very protective and nervous doggy Dad, but things could not have gone better. My little guy clearly had an amazing time while I was out of the country for a week.
Laura is very professional, friendly and accommodating to my needs and schedule.
Sometimes I think my little guy even likes it at her place better than ours!

I am writing this review about Laura because she is a really amazing dog trainer. She is very patient, and caring and loves all animals. She has been helping me with my crazy Dalmatian. This dog is virtually untrainable. Pulls on the leash, dog aggressive, you name it. She made me feel at ease on the first visit. I no longer felt, and feel helpless. She also is a very awesome dog sitter. We just got back from a family vacation and my dogs were so well adjusted, not like when I have left them at Petsmart. It takes 2 Weeks to get my dogs back to normal. With Laura it was like we almost never left!
I have recommended her services to friends, and they feel the same way. Let’s face our animals are like family. It sure is nice to have a piece of mind.

I found Your Dog’s Best Friend here on Unilocal and cannot recommend Laura highly enough! We had previously used a pet sitter who has since closed, and I turned to Unilocal when we had a weeklong out-​of-​town trip planned. Using the reviews and the businesses’ websites, Your Dog’s Best Friend was my first choice, and I was able to make arrangements with Laura easily over email. Laura came my home at a time convenient for me to meet our 3 dogs and go over the routine before our trip.
She was ultra-​professional, very friendly, and all-​around impressive! One of our dogs has had cancer, takes meds, and is a very picky eater, which requires a fairly complex routine involving microwaving human-​grade food, dispensing medications, and some, well, wiping on occasion. Laura had no problem with any of his special needs. Our other two dogs stay in our garage when we are away and have to travel downstairs to be let outside into the backyard of our built-​on-​a-​hill house. Although I am always a little embarrassed when someone new comes to my house (because with 2 small children and 3 dogs, it’s never as tidy as I’d like), Laura put my mind at ease instantly. She took detailed notes and discussed with me the routine and what each dog needed at each visit. She then played with our dogs outside, so that they would get familiar with her.
Once we had left for our trip, Laura always promptly sent me text messages WITH PHOTOS (other pet-​sitters charge extra for this!) at every visit. I am always a bit worried about our favorite dog, because of his past health issues, and the texts and photos from Laura really made our trip stress-​free. On top of that, she got our mail from the mailbox every day and followed all my instructions to a T.
I’m so glad I found Your Dog’s Best Friend and can assure you that you’ll find no better pet-​sitter in L.A. It’s a relief to know you can have your dogs cared for in your own home, where they are most comfortable, at very reasonable rates that are much less than boarding at a kennel. Your Dog’s Best Friend has definitely earned my repeat business.

Laura took care of our two dogs in her home for 10 days when we were out of town. They had only ever stayed with family so we were worried that their little eccentricities would be a challenge for Laura. She was great! She welcomed them into her home with love and acceptance. I really appreciated that there was no extra charge for giving one of my dogs medication once a day.
My kids were so excited when Laura sent us pictures of our dogs, especially since they were doing what they loved, which was sitting in the sun in the backyard and also hanging around with Laura’s dog. It gave us all peace of mind when we saw the photos since we had never met Laura before and knew nothing about her except for what we read on the internet. She was taking care of our beloved pets and we wanted them to be loved and cared for as if they were at home. Laura did that and more. My dogs go on a hunger strike when they are stressed, even when they go to stay with family. Then they wont eat for days after they return. When I got them back from Laura’s they both ate well, and acted like we had never left.
Even though one of my dogs can be challenging because he is still a puppy, Laura did not say a bad word about him She pointed out that he has a lot of energy and gave me some advice about how I can help him be calmer. I really appreciated that!
To top it all off her prices were extremely reasonable! They were the best prices I found. I considered boarding my dogs at a pet store but they would take the dogs out twice a day, and if I wanted them to have play time it would be an additional cost per half hour each day. Since they were at Laura’s house they had access to the backyard all the time, as well as being able to hang out inside too.
I know it isn’t easy to take care a pets you don’t know, but Laura did it with ease and for that we are extremely grateful. If we ever need dog sitting services again, Laura will be the first person we call!

We just returned from vacation and we left our 3 dogs with Your Dog’s Best Friend. It was a perfect situation. It’s like leaving your dogs at a friends house knowing that they will be well taken care of. Laura is really sweet and caring. We looked around at different boarding facilities and so many of them offered a cage and one walk a day. Anything beyond that there was an extra charge. Not with Your Dog’s Best Friend. Laura not only walked them every day but let them roam in the house and play in her backyard in addition to allowing my little one to sleep on her bed. Laura also sent us photos of our dogs letting us know how well they were doing. I highly recommend leaving your pets with them. And, you can’t beat the price.

We were nervous on our way to drop off our 17 week old Boxer puppy, Page, at Laura’s house. We usually leave our pets with family and friends when we leave town and didn’t know what to expect leaving our puppy with someone we’d never met, but as soon as we walked in and met Laura, all of our worries instantly vanished. The obvious warmth, kindness and adoration for pets was so reassuring, it felt like we were leaving Page with family.
Throughout the next 4 days and 3 nights Laura was great about updating us and sending us pictures, and it was clear Page was feeling like she was on vacation too. She even kept up with the commands we’ve been teaching Page! When we picked her up it was like we never left. Healthy, happy, hyper Page.
Believe the reviews! We would give 10 STARS if we could. The value here is unbelievable. Such great care for such affordable prices.

Yvette has been walking my 6 month old lab for three months!!! I love her. She takes pictures of my dog and videos when they are walking. She has helped me over the phone weekly with tips on my dear Enzo. He is 80 pounds and eats everything. She works diligently with him. She never cancels and is very dependable. I love her and Laura. If it was not for the both of them, I do not know what I would do. We lost our 11 year old lab and got a puppy lab — it was a difficult change from old man to young spirited boy! Thank you so much Yvette!

Fantastic. We’re in a bit of weird spot (up in Topanga), and Yvette and Laura, despite our location are truly amazing dog walkers/​friends to our two fur children. We have one little dog with a luxating patella and another that’s around 14 pounds, neither can go on big walks (which I’m sure is tempting given our backyard is Topanga State Park), but Yvette still manages to get a good amount of time in with them, and sends us photos with reports of how they did for the day. Sadly, we’re about to move to central LA, but I want to strongly recommend Your Dog’s Best Friend to anyone searching for not just a dog walker, but a kind companion for your dog.

Laura is definitely our dog’s best friend! She is wonderfully friendly, and it is very easy to arrange for her to watch our little chihuahua when we go out of town. It gives us such peace of mind knowing she can check on the house, bring in the mail, water plants and other things too. We know Laura takes amazing care of our pup because it never seems like she misses us very much when we come home :)

Laura is NOT our dog’s best friend. Well, she probably would be, but we don’t have a dog. Don’t let the name of the company fool you, because she is the best friend of our rabbit, mice, fish and freshwater snails. The indoor and outdoor plants seem to be satisfied customers as well.
We went on vacation and needed somebody reliable to watch over our critters. Laura was awesome. Not only did she take care of our little ones, she actually took the time to text pictures of them to us while we were gone, helping to alleviate worries during our vacation. Communication was excellent and often.
We highly recommend Laura for any type of animal, and will look forward to using her services again during our next vacation.

I love how trust worthy, dependable and caring they are towards my 3 dogs. Especially Laura, I can’t trust my babies with anyone else except them. My dogs love them and it makes my life so much easier knowing they are in the best hands when I am at work or away from business. Our 10 year old lab Skylar wants to give a «bark» out to Laura — his best friend. Mom & Dad say on the days Laura walks me I’m much calmer when they get home. Mom also has noticed that I’m easier to walk because I don’t pull so much, that’s because Laura works with me on our walks. She’s so kind and patient with me, and I want to please her — because she’s one of the good ones. Mom & Dad really like the personal notes Laura leaves explaining how I did, and what a good boy I am (I like that too!) I love me some Laura, when she arrives and calls for me at the gate, I race to meet her and do my happy dance. My life is better with my best friend, Laura, and I and my mom, can’t recommend her highly enough.
