Woodland Hills Private School – Collins St. Campus

Our son had the best time here. We did a lot of research and this was definitely he best choice. Our son loved his teachers and all the activities he did. Your money is well spent here and compared to other places our son was at before, this was way better. Amazing school and staff.

WARNING: This is a rave review! A year and a half ago, we made the best decision for my son And I intend to make the same choice for my newborn daughter. WWHP Collins is more than a place to drop your kids. It’s a safe haven, a community gem and a gift that you can give your kids that will pay off for years to come. Our son, now 3.5 yrs, has flourished and become so independent. He walks into school knowing he’s covered, he’s safe and he’s free to be himself. The play based environment there is exactly what a kid his age needs. We love his teachers (they helped him get potty trained), the director Robin — who knows every kid by name, is so warm and helpful, she greets my kiddo with a hug at some point almost every day — it’s a real highlight for him! And we’ve made great friends there, the PAG is just a bunch of parents (any amount of involvement is welcome) raising cash to give our kids some great experiences… my favorite is SoCal Snow day when we bring in snow and everyone goes sledding and makes snowballs all day. Honestly, I had a deposit down somewhere else nearby and I’m so glad to have made the switch… just in time.

One word describes the school, AMAZING! My daughter started here at 18 months in the toddler class and it has been wonderful. She is now 2 and will stay in that class until summer. The teacher Ms. Evelyn and teachers aid Ms. Amy are genuinely amazing people. After all the amazingness from the teachers, the actual curriculum is strong, diverse, and fun! My daughter comes home everyday telling me how much fun she had with her teachers and friends. My daughter communicates her needs and feelings well and I thank Ms. Evelyn for that. Another wonderful aspect of the school is the director Robin. She is literally great! She is so into every class and what is going on with each one. She is involved with the kids and I think she knows every child’s name in the school (just a hunch) but I wouldn’t doubt it. I have seen many of other teachers there first hand with the children as well on the big yard and even when the sub in the toddler class and I don’t have anything but positive things to say about all of them. I recommend checking this darling campus out if you are looking for a preschool for your child. Just to add I think the campus itself is darling and just perfect for young kids. It is protected, monitored and is in a quiet off the Main Street community.

Both of our boys went to WHPS. If you are looking for a nurturing, fun & creative environment this is the school for you. We had Ms. Shelley who is AMAZING!!! And Ms. Stephanie & Ms. Miley for our 2 yr old, these ladies are just exceptional! My kids learned so much, they would come home singing new songs all the time. Ms. Robin, the director, is so down to earth & understanding. I looked at so many schools in the past & this is the one of the best!

We formerly had our daughter at another daycare in Woodland Hills and had a really bad experience. We couldn’t wait until she turned 18 months to be able to join the toddler program at Woodland Hills Private, Collins Campus. We are so glad that we did!
First of all, the toddler teachers are amazing! We were so surprised at how quickly our daughters vocabulary exploded. The teachers put words to every situation and teach little ones how to navigate through social situations and express their needs. Every day our daughter came home saying new words and she was so proud of her accomplishments. We also love that each classroom has its own website where they post information and photos. It is great to see all of the activities that they do everyday. The teachers really do a fantastic job creating sensory stimulating activities for the kids.
We also are very impressed with the administration. Robin, the director, is so warm and friendly. We always feel that she is happy to see us and our daughter. We have only been part of the WHPS family for 8 months and they feel like family to us. I know that my daughter loves everyone there, but I feel like my day isn’t complete until I get to see and talk to the teachers and administrators as well.
The other parents have been very welcoming and have encouraged us to get involved, which really is wonderful for us. Nobody pressures us to be involved, but when we do help out with things and volunteer we always meet new parents that are so friendly that we are quickly developing a community of friends. (We are fairly new to the Woodland Hills area and are very new to having a child.)
We are excited to be moving into the preschool program this upcoming year, but are also sad to be leaving the toddler program. I could not recommend the toddler program more. Switching to this school was the best decision that we have made for our daughter and family. I have so many good things to say about the school that my fingers are getting tired from typing. Check it out yourself and you will not be disappointed.

The teachers and administration staff at this school are awesome. We toured several schools before selecting Woodland Hills Private School. My daughter went to the Collins location for 3 years and I highly recommend this school. My daughter learned so much and the environment is so caring and allows for parents to really be involved if they choose to do so. My daughter really enjoyed her time at this school.

We have 2 kids at this school and love it. The teachers have been there a long time and are AMAZING. The teachers really bring out the best in my kids.
After looking at a good # of schools, we decided to send our kids to this school because asking around to kindergarten teachers, we were told that kids from here came in well prepared. After touring we also liked it the best.
While getting my kids ready for kindergarten is important to me, it is also important that my kids have fun at school and learn to love it. I believe that playing is learning and this school does too.
I also love that that my kids can stay until 6:00 pm when necessary. On occasion I need to work late and this really helps.
Even when I pick my kids up late they usually want to stay and play. :)

We started at WHPS Collins campus in the fall and have had an amazing experience. We looked at a lot of pre-​schools and the great feedback and word of mouth kept bringing us back to WHPS. The school has wonderful grounds with 2 playgrounds, a pool, and other large areaa for the kids to explore and be outside. The school is clean, and well kept and has a huge feeling of family. The director and staff are wonderful, and warm and really love running a preschool filled with so much education and fun activities. They bring in fun extra curicular events like the mobile aquarium, bubble fun, snow day, mobile animals and more. One thing that sold us were the classrooms and teachers! The classrooms are huge! Plenty of room for circle time, play time, attached bathrooms and craft tables too. I really wanted our little one to have room to run and grow! The teachers are so caring and warm and genuinly happy to be at such a great school. Their days have lots of education, crafting, outdoor time, and really ours has leaned so much this year its amazing. Our teacher Miss Sheri for the two year olds is beyond wonderful, and our little one loves being at school and cant wait to her her teacher everyday!

This is my daughter’s 3^rd year at Woodland Hills Private School. We absolutely love it. Robin, the Director is very accessible and addresses parent concerns professionally and promptly. My daughter has made great friends and we’ve found a wonderful community of families at the school. As a working mom, I’m happy that WHPS is a great environment for kids who stay extended day. The campus is small and there is minimal shuffling around of the kids who stay past lunchtime. I love the diversity of the kids and my daughter is learning about all cultures at school, while preparing for kindergarten and elementary school. I feel very confident that WHPS is preparing my daughter for a solid future in school and in life.

Let me start out by saying I looked at SO many schools before I landed at WHPS Collins. I came from a very bad experience at another school so I was VERY sceptic and cautious. My son has a very slow to warm personality. That made the decision all that much harder. After getting such a great feeling, I signed my son up and we cound not be happier!!! I truly feel like this is my second home. Not only because I am there so much, but because I feel like I am in such a tight nit community. It’s like having another family. The staff is amazing and the directors, Robin and Judy are so easy to talk to and are extremely helpful. Not intimidating like alot of the staff at the other schools I visited. They truly have your childs best interest in mind!
The teachers that my son has now and had last «semester», are absolutely wonderful! They bring out the best in him and really make him feel comfortable and happy. I am constantly amazed by the things that he learns. He really feels like he is part of something great and has made some great new friends. The teachers and staff remember everyone and I swear they know every kid by name! I absolutely love that the classrooms are HUGE and they have SO much space. The kids are not on top of each other like I saw at other schools. It was so much cleaner and it has a very «homey» feel to it. A lot of the schools are too big, too many kids, and I was afraid he would have been lost in that (like he was previously before we switched) and would have just been another «number».
With all this said, I think about how sad I will be the day he won’t be there! That I won’t there. If I had to redo it all over again, I would pick WHPS Collins again! I am so happy I made the right choice!

My daughter has been going to Woodland Hills Private School for a little over a year and we couldn’t be happier. She started this school when she was 2 and was very behind her classmates with her speech. Within 3 months her teachers had her talking at age level. I was amazed. This year (now 3) it’s only been a month since the new school year started and she has already learned all her letters and can write her name. Every day I’m blown away by the things she’s learning. Not only are the teachers great at achieving these goals, but they do everything with love and a smile on their face. They take the time to talk to us parents, address our concerns any time of day, they even send us real-​time pictures of what they’re doing in class everyday. We couldn’t have picked a better school to start her education off on the right foot

As a preschool teacher myself, I put a lot of energy and thought into what preschool my daughter would attend. I visited several schools throughout the valley and decided on Woodland Hills Private School because of the amazing teachers, the helpful administrators, and the overall education I knew my daughter would receive there. From her first day there, I could tell that my daughter was not only safe and happy, but learning so many different things including skills on how to be independent and creative. I feel so fortunate to have found a school that employs a staff that really gets to know your child on an individual level and makes sure that every child receives what he/​she needs to be successful and happy. I am so grateful that my family has become part of the WHPS family and I am constantly recommending this school to my family and friends who have preschool-​aged children.

LOVE this school! My son is quite shy, and the teachers’ warmth totally opened him up this year. All the staff knew his name, even if they aren’t his teachers — this made him feel so very special! Every member of the staff is warm and welcoming. Everyone is ready to help with any question or problem. There are many «extra» activities that he thoroughly enjoys (such as Snow Day, Farmers Market, Easter Egg Hunt, etc)! I am looking forward to another wonderful year at WHPS next year! :)

Both of my children attended preschool at pWoodland Hills Private School (Collins Campus) from age 2 to 5. This warm and loving environment was just what I wanted for them as an introduction to early education. The school provides a great balance of socialization and academics. The classrooms are bright and cheery, filled with artwork, books, and toys to encourage imaginative thinking and play. My son, who is now 7 was very well prepared for kindergarten and I have full confidence that my daughter, who will start kinder this fall, will also do well. There are also monthly activities and shows organized by the parents association (snow day, tide pool touch tank, cinco de mayo dancers, etc.). The kids really have a great experience here.
Not only did my children build friendships, but I also met some of my closest friends at WHPS. There is a great sense of community at that school.

I sent both my kids to this pre-​school (daughter attended for 2 years and son attended for 3 years) and I can’t say enough good things. The school is very warm and inviting as well as safe feeling. The teachers and staff always have smiles and know everyone by name. The Directors are very involved and caring. My kids always loved going to school which was so important to me. My kids also attended the summer programs which were lots of fun. I was part of the parents association for several years which is very invoved in providing additional enrichment for the kids. The tuition is also very reasonable and flexible based on number of days a week your child attends and ½ day or full day. You can’t go wrong choosing WHPS Collins campus!

I am a researcher and analyst by profession — so I can say with confidence that my husband and I put a lot of time and thought into picking the right schools for our children. We were so happy to have found Woodland Hills Private School, and we (along with all the parents in our classes) were quite sad the day that our children graduated from the WHPS «family». The teachers and administrators are always warm and welcoming — there’s always an open door policy. No issue or question is too large or too small. The staff takes the time to understand and prioritize each individual child’s needs in the classroom. Each of my two children were quite different, but both got the emotional and academic learning they needed to succeed inside and outside of the classroom to become independent and confident children. There is an abundant amount of parent involvement and the Parent Association Group is incredibly active and brings unique events to campus that you won’t find at other schools in the area. I can’t speak highly enough of the school, the curriculum, and the staff. Most of all, my kids looked forward to school every day. I would recommend WHPS to any parent looking for a great start to their child’s emotional and academic foundation.

My son currently is enrolled the preschool program at WHPS and as a parent I couldn’t be happier. The teaching staff could not be nicer and more nurturing to the children. Everyday we are greeted by smiles and hugs for my son. The administration is also so kind and helpful. You can tell just how much both the teachers and administrators care about each child and family individually. My son has learned so much this past year and has transitioned so well into their program. I have full trust that my son is well taken care of and that he will be fully ready for kindergarten when the time comes.

I am a parent at the collins campus and I cannot be more pleased with the school. The teachers are so caring and loving! The children truly experience a well-​rounded curriculum in an environment where the staff and administration put forth their efforts to meet the needs of the children. We have not yet finished the year, but I can already see the growth, confidence and skills my child displays. I can’t wait for the upcoming school year at Woodland Hilld Private School:)

this place is missing immense the certain something and that certain something was letting the kids be kids, its pretty institutional. The kids cannot get water until a certain time, My nanny charge went here and all the time the teacher said she was not doing this or not focusing on this or that, mind you she was five and the summer camp?! they make the directors do «EDUCATIONAL» things, and make them do dittos at the end of the day, seriously this is a summer camp, the director Anne has hear head stuck in the fifties. I attended the morning meet up and the other counselor who wanted to do schools out for summer was shot down and said that the kids would like the yogi bear song… seriously more words and these kids had no idea who yogi bear was. my nanny charge kept asking me who yogi bear was!
this school woulod be better if Anne was not principal other than that it can be good, but if shes there run for the hills!

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!! My son does too. The teachers are amazing, very caring, and very energetic. The directors are approachable and knowledgeable. Everyone genuinely cares about my son as if he were their own. I can’t say enough great things about the school.
