H&R Block

This is my second year having Sean Talaee do my taxes and I was so happy with him. He is super friendly and he remembered me from when he did my taxes last year! His customer service is spot on and he really knows his stuff. The staff at this location are very nice as well and really make you feel at home. They made my tax season easy and painless!

**WARNING — DO NOT GET YOUR TAXES DONE HERE** I usually do my own taxes but I decided to go to this H&R Block location because my 2014 taxes were a little more complicated than in previous years. I also wanted the peace of mind knowing that it would get done correctly by a tax professional. Unfortunately, I was wrong to make this assumption.
Sean did my taxes and everything appeared fine until I received a letter from the IRS this month stating my taxes were entirely incorrect. I immediately took the letter to Jason asking for assistance and clarification and to this day have not heard back. I also reached out multiple times via phone and email and on the one time I did receive a reply it was a promise that Jason would get back to me the next day. Again, I never heard from anyone.
I was forced to go to another H&R Block location based on a personal referral and they confirmed that my taxes were done inaccurately with information placed in wrong fields or left blank. I now owe over $ 3,500 because of this egregious lack of attention and exaggerations on write offs.
DO NOT GET YOUR TAXES DONE HERE! They offer no guarantee or protection against their mistakes and now I’m out of luck paying additional taxes that I was not prepared for.

I had a great experience with this location. Sean T. was so helpful, asked me great questions to benefit and maximize my tax return. I was in and out in 30 minutes, knowing a big refund check was on its way! Thanks again Sean! I’ll be coming back to you again, next year

My husband and I found SEAN at this H&R Block office last year and were COMPLETELY SATISFIED by his tax preparation services. We just returned from his office for 2014 taxes and he provided us with another EXCELLENT experience. Sean is knowledgeable, kind, helpful and honest. The office staff was even accommodating of our two kids who came with us to the appointment. You will not be disappointed. SEAN is GREAT!

He is very knowledgeable and works with me to make sure that I have considered all information that will help get me the best result for completing my annual tax return. He is patient and helps explain the various rules and guidelines, especially any new rules and regulations. I have had some challenging tax returns over the last few years and he was even able to help me complete amended tax returns for prior years when my mortgage interest reported by the bank had been understated in previous years. If you are looking for a sound, knowledgeable and trustworthy tax preparer you won’t go wrong with using Sean Talaee. Best of luck on your tax season this year.

This year, we went to H&R Block in Woodland Hills on Ventura Blvd. Much better than the Canoga Park location. Josh took care of us, and in about 45 minutes we were completely done, and getting a nice refund. The new software they have makes tax preparation so much quicker (they were using some old DOS based system last year). We would definitely go back to this location again, and to Josh.

Sean Tallee is awesome and if you need your taxes done correct and want to maximize every possible dollar you should get back go to sean. Also, once you file you get your money within 7 days.

I’ve been coming to H&R Block to file my taxes since I started working at the age of 16. My very first time I filed with Tokiko Lee and every year since then I come and file with her only.
Tokiko Lee is extremely knowledgeable and efficient at what she does. She explains everything clearly so that I understand. There are some tax seasons where my return involves more forms and it becomes a bit more complicated, but even then she makes the whole filing process a breeze.
As far as the staff goes, I have never had any problems. Everyone is so cheerful and kind and the office is always well kept.

File with Jason Chapman today! I had to leave a review because Jason made the situation painless and so informative. You get what you pay for and it’s worth every dime to get it done right. I called and spoke to a few different people and knew right away I wanted Jason to do my taxes. I didn’t make an appointment which I highly recommend because tax season is upon us. I spent about 15 – 20 minutes there and even left with a reusable grocery bag and a piece of candy. It’s the little things that count and you will also leave with the biggest refund that they can collect for you.
Great job to H&R and Jason Chapman! See you next year when I file again!

Unfortunately I wasted 2 hours of my day at this office, because I was mislead and basically not told the truth on the cost of my tax preparation. I spoke to the receptionist before making my appointment, and clearly explained to her what forms I needed to have completed for my taxes. She gave me a quote of the max cost would be $ 180 dollars. I also called two other offices H&R Block local offices that quoted the same exact pricing… I clearly explained that it was the form C and a few other things to for write offs, and that I had all my totals already prepared and ready for a gentleman named Michael. I asked him again just to be clear with my tax prep cost me more then $ 180 he kind of double talked, and said the front office woman takes care of all that. I said that I was already quoted by her and he told me not to worry. He was a very nice man and I was happy with him. Though when I was done I went to the front where the women’s name was Donna she had me sign papers then she told me it’s $ 450 dollars!!! I was outraged I told her that she never ever quoted anything even near that price and I explained fully of what my needs were. She then was dis honest and said no I never quote anything under $ 375 for a form C. Which was totally untrue!!! Then she tried to blame it on the H&R block costs from the computer, and said they had no control over the prices. I told them I absolutely would of never come here if I would of been told anything like this. I have never paid more then $ 288.00 for the same kind of forms. Then she said well I can give you a courtesy discount to $ 375… I said absolutely not!!! I called for a quote before, because I keep a budget and why would I go somewhere and pay double of what I previously had been paying in the past!!!
I was extremely clear with my needs, this clearly was a bait and switch. I told her to shred my info and she gave me some weird excuse that she couldn’t shred my paper work until a shredder man came??? I asked to please give me the paperwork and had to rip it up myself. Who doesn’t have a paper shredder right there that’s working, especially with these kinds of documents??? Anyways it was really unfortunate I wasted my time at this office. Again, I really liked Michael he was a really nice man, and I felt he knew his job well… Though his receptionist Donna needs to learn to some front office phone, and reception etiquette.
Again, I was quoted the $ 180 max by at least two other offices which is unacceptable not to tell a client that it will be significantly more before you begin to work on their taxes… Again bait and switch!!!
I was saddened by this again, because Michael was such a nice man and I would of gone back if I haven’t been mislead.

BF and I did our taxes a lot sooner than last year. As soon as we received our W2’s, we scheduled our now annual appointment to meet with Sean, our tax dude.
He was able to complete my filing and my BF’s in a little over an hour. Sean is nice because he doesn’t just make it all about the taxes. We talk about work, life and restaurant recommendations. He makes the experience very comfortable and chill.
When it comes to tax preparations, he is VERY thorough and detailed, which I think are 2 important qualities to possess so that nothing is missed. He is great at explaining things.

I filed in February. Had to redo my taxes 3times with the same result. I was told I’d receive a few hundred. I just got return $ 2.00… Safe to say I was screwed

Poor service and extremely rude receptionist. I literally just called asking if they have any appointments available for certain days and all I received was «NO»…just a short, blunt «NO» well buddy I have been there before and just need to finish my paperwork that will take no more than 5 minutes. But still I received a «NO» in informing him of this and then when I replied to the receptionist still trying to give him a benefit of the doubt and asked him what time he had for Saturday, apparently their only available date with available times, he AGAIN rudely states «I SUGGEST YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ON THAT DATE»
It’s amazing that for a receptionist, (the person being the first point of interest in handling with a company, you would have such a astonishingly ill-​mannered and unprofessional individual, and c’mon you couldn’t have said anything of such nature as «No, unfortunately that time is not available but we do have this time and day.» RUDE beyond belief. I understand this location is busy as the deadline is coming to a close very soon but you are STILL A CUSTOMER SERVICE BASED COMPANY. Also, the accountant that I encountered had no personality and was judgemental upon looking all my tax documents. Hey, I came in with a friendly, professional attitude!!! How about treating me in the same manner. I will never come here again and I suggest others to save their time and money on this establishment that lacks customer service or even an ounce of respect.
