California Custom Maid Service

Beware!!! We were a long term client and then things went horribly wrong. The company and management did not support their guarantee about insurance and bonding. It was a horrible loss to me and my family. I was extremely disappointed with the way management handled our situation, they were immediately terminated. BEWARE!

If I could take away a star I would. They don’t even deserve 1 star.
I would NEVER recommend this company.
I bought a deal through KGB deals to clean my vacant rental property.
When I scheduled the appointment I specifically told them to call me when the cleaners are on their way. I work 20 minutes away so I need time to get there to open the doors. Instead I got a call when the cleaners were already there and waiting. While I was on my way, I got another call asking where I was and that the cleaners were waiting. If they had called ahead of time like I told them, the cleaners would not have been waiting. Instead I got an attitude on the phone telling me they are waiting.
Then as I show up and open the doors, the cleaners said NOTHING to me. They immediately walk in and call the company. Then the company rep calls me and tells me they have to charge me more because it is vacant. I asked why it would cost more. They said it would take more time and more work. I told them I was not going to pay more and the lady hung up on me. She turned around and told the cleaners to only do the basic cleaning I paid for.
At 11:45 I asked when I should be back. The cleaners told me 1pm. I left and sat and waited in the parking lot. They were loading their car with their cleaning stuff at 12:45. They only cleaned for 1 hour. The deal I bought specifically stated 2 hours of house cleaning. My place is less than 800 sq ft. None of the base boards were clean. There were still dust and dirt in corners. They did the absolute bare minimum of cleaning. If they had cleaned for the 2 hours that I paid for, I know they could have had the place much cleaner. They chose to ignore to be more thorough because I would not pay more.
I am very dissatisfied and very pissed off at the lady that I spoke to on the phone. She was very rude and disrespectful.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Deal or no deal. It’s not worth the hassle and anger they put you through.
If cleaning a vacant property is an issue then they need to ask when booking the appointment. I thought I purchased 2 hours of house cleaning. Instead of got 1 hour of WHAT?

I have used this service and found them to very good and reliable.

I have never seen anyone use a vacuum to clean my frig!!! Maybe that says something about my frig. Either way they do a great job.
I have used them several times and am always pleased with how great my house (and my frig) looks afterwards.

I gave this group of morons one star because I wasn’t offered any selection worse!
I have had several no shows. Usually some b.s. excuse about car troubles or the like.
When I called to complain i was told the maids refuse to answer their cell phones.
I have asked for the manager and owner to call me for about a week to no avail.
I wouldn’t hire this made service if they were the last maid service on earth. In fact they should drop the word «Service» from their company name as they do NOT know what that word means nor do they now how to give good service!

I have spent upwards of $ 400 on cleanings through Molly Maid and I have to say that California Custom Maid Service did a better job for half the price. Additionally, they do a better job during my weekly cleanings as well. I have tried all sorts of maid services and they all fall short of California Custom Maid Service. NO service is going to meet my cleaning dream, but of all the maid services I’ve tried, CCMS came the closest.
They have never been late. I kind of wish they have as I am always running late and could use the extra time, but they appear right on schedule. They are thorough and LISTEN to instructions. All maid services need to be managed to a point. At least CCM listens when I give instructions. Molly Maids and Merry Maids both spent more time telling me they couldn’t do things while CCM got the job done while charging far more.
I am only giving 4 stars due to the fact that this is a referral agency and occasionally I will get a team that should only earn 3 stars, but most of the time they earn 5.

I have used any number of maid services, largely thru coupons such as living
social and grouion. Many of the businesses went out of business before
the coupon expired, or they broke things! I must say I was MOST IMPRESSED
by Calif Custom Maids0-​the girls (and the guy at one tine) were efficient,

This owner continues to contact me on Unilocal.He says I requested a cleaning service they were unable to complete. My question is WHY did you send a crew if you knew You could not complete the service specifically requested? I ask you to please stop contacting me on Unilocal.

Follow up: the owner Ruben contacted me after reading my «stellar» review to patch things up. He was very concerned about the quality, or lack there of, of customer service. He offered a GREAT discount to try them out — one more chance! Well I super needed to have my house cleaned & it is almost impossible for me to pass up a fantastic deal — I am a Groupon /​Living Social junkie —
Anyway, they came back, cleaned the house nice & pretty, honored that awesome rate, and tried hard to fix their rep.
So far so good. I have booked a couple of follow ups & as long things keep on they way they are, I will continue to use their service. should things go array, I will post an update!

If I could give a zero to this referral service I would. I have had two instances when for some reason or another maids don’t show up because of personal issues. The maids are usually 30 minutes late when the do show up. I have given this service way to many chances. You get what you pay for. Today I called and complained because the maids were having drama and someone asked me if I would prefer a carpet cleaning instead of maid service because of personal issues the maids who were scheduled to clean my place. I called back to complain to the Manager and he hung up on me! Idiot. Most of the star ratings on Unilocal are 2 stars and below for good reason. Take my word for it do not use this crappy service. I am going back to Merry Maids. They are twice as expensive but the customer service I had from them was much better.

I had a good experience with this company. It was easy to set up an appointment time, although it was a bit far in advance and not on a day that I needed, but when they came they worked hard, cleaned well, and always had someone that I could communicate with in English, which was great.

Awful! I’ve used them a few times and they are just not trained in cleaning at all. Odd I know for a «MAID» service.
The first time I used them they sent out a woman who was 8 months pregnant and could not bend and was a nasty piece of work. They apologized so I used them again and they were even worse, if you can imagine.
When I told them how unhappy I was with their service they simply said «oh well, thanks for your business.» Completely unprofessional.
As far as my experience went her are some example of their bad service:
Left a dirty sponge in my refrigerator
Left garbage in all the bathroom trash cans
Did not clean the stove.
Did not clean the downstairs toilet.
Left cleaning products under my bed.
Left a red stain on my bathroom floor.
Put garbage bags under the litter box??? Why?

They essentially used a dry mop to wipe the walls of my shower room when i noticed soap marks still stay on the walls.
I called for the cleaning and carpeting for my 1,450 sq/​ft brand new 2009 townhouse which i lived in only 8 month. I called the service because my parents are visiting me from out of town. They sent two people to clean and one guy for the carpet. The carpet guy is pretty good and showed up in uniform and it took 1.5 day to let the carpet dry. I am totally fine because at least the carpet was done professionally.
It seems to me the cleaning company simply finds two persons on the street without ANY kind of training or knowledge about cleaning people’s house.
One guy was on the phone frequently, one phone call after another, and pretended not understanding English. The other guy «cleaned» my bathroom which faucets are not shine and the gap between toilet and floor is still yellow. Com’on, my faucets are used for serveral months. I can easily shine the faucets my own and I’ve done it regularly. I had to teach them what «cleanness» means for more than 5 times.
Obviously the cleaning service is below my expectation. I decided to ask for a stop of the service. They spent 3 hours for the work I can finish in 1 hour and a lot cleaner.
Poor communication to their contracted workers, not professional at all, lower than expectation service quality, and lots of BS and lies. I asked them to sent a better team to finish the job, they never did. They outsource workers so it’s all on your luck.

We had a terrible experience with this company: on our agreement, its a 5 hours 2 people DETAIL cleaning service, see how it turned out: 2 people did show up, one guy one girl, the first minute they stepped in my 6-​month old townhouse, they said, we only do regular dust clean, no detail clean… I said, thats not how we agreed, they said, yea yea, your house is new. Oh well, so blame it on my house, lets get started anyways.
So I let them start: the girl was on the phone all the times, and she REALLY just tried to get the dust off, no even use detergent or other tools…@-@ The guy was ok, but he refused to clean my blinds, saying not included — I confirmed with their company its detail clean and blinds are included. Sigh, then they broke my slide door of the bathroom and the wand of my blinds – they didnt clean the blinds they just broke it when they tried to clean the glasses…:(((
After 2 hours, seeing they work like this, I had to talk to the guy (the girl refused to talk to me saying she could not understand English) and ask them to be careful and let him tell the girl not talking on the phone… they were upset and said they need to leave, but they wont leave unless I sign the paper, the paper showing 5 hours work they want me to sign in the mid way… Anyhow, when they finally left my house, 3 hours passed by. I spoke to their Manager over the phone, he promised to send another better 2 people the next day to finish the 2 hours work. They NEVER showed up!!! And I was waiting for them the whole time…
I called, I emailed, no reply, finally I said I need to talk to my credit card company and suspend your charge – they charged me FULL amount for 5 hours!!! Should I pay for the lousy 3 hours service (which they only worked 2 hours and spent the 3^rd hour on fixing my slide door and arguing with me) and the never showed up 2 hours work? And who is gonna pay for my broken slide door and wand… I am sooo speechless… Finally today they shoot me an email saying will refund my money, but so far I didnt see any refund…
Another thing, along with the cleaning service, I also asked for carpet cleaning, and one guy showed up the same day as the 2 cleaning people, he did his job, just afterwards they charged me $ 25 MORE, saying I have lots of stains on carpet.@@…never understand why they charge more as they want and never need to confirm with customers???

I found this service on Unilocal.I got the $ 125 security deposit cleaning special (I don’t think it’s listed on their website) but I asked about it from he previous review and the guy said it was for 2 ladies, 4 hours of cleaning. I also used the $ 10 OFF Monday-​Wednesday promo.

They did a great job on the cleaning, but the reason I’m only giving them 4 stars is because they were 40 minutes late arriving. I would use them again if I was not on a time crunch.

Called this company to clean my apartment when I moved out. Looked over the yellow page listings and called several of them. I picked this company because they were the only one that had a «security deposit back move out» cleaning for $ 125, while the other companies I talked to charged by hour only. They also have a coupon in the back of the yellow pages for $ 10 off, so even better. The person that answered the phone was very nice and professional, she was clearly hired for her great phone manner.
Arrangements were made to meet the two person crew at my previous apartment. I was in communication with the office and the office was in communication with the crew. They arrived in their own van, didn’t speak the best english but were very courteous. After a while of observing them, I was confident enough that they would do a great job and left for several hours. When I returned, everything looked great. I paid via credit card over the phone, so the cleaning crew just gave me something to sign. I tipped them and they were on their way.
I received a thank you card from the company and it says on the back of the card, «California Custom Maid Service is not the employer of the domestic worker it referred to you. The domestic worker may be your employee or an independent contractor depending on the relationship you have with him or her. If you direct and control the manner and means by which the domestic worker performs his or her work you may have employer responsibilities, including employment taxes and workers’ compensation, under state and federal law. For additional information contact your local Employment Development Department and the Internal Revenue Service.»
Well, that’s interesting. CCMS is a referral agency. Regardless, I was happy with the cleaning, it was a smooth and problem free transaction. The crew brought their own supplies and vacuum. The agency also called me to follow up on the phone. Four and a half stars, rounded up.
