Description

Specialties

Auberge de Seattle is a French Country Inn, in the Woodinville Wine Country. We have 4 units for rent and also offer French Regional Cooking Classes with professional chefs. Our classes are all hands-on and for 6 hrs. long. Sit down with the fruits of your labor to an elegant place setting.

History

Established in 2003.

My son Remy passed away in 2001 and I wondered what to do with myself.

My family heritage is French and I was raised to honor old country values, as such I inherited the «old country» belief that food and wine are inseparable companions. Yes, to truly appreciate a good meal or a good bottle of wine you do need the other, after all wine is a food, meant to be enjoyed as an integral part of both everyday and special occasion meals. I think the most effective way to spread this message was by creating an exciting food and wine experience. Hence cooking classes along with an opportunity to sleep in a one of a kind Inn was founded. Our Getaway Packages are a once in a lifetime adventure, two night and two for a 6 hour cooking class. We are secluded on five wooded acres on the Edge of Seattle. All accommodations are beautifully appointed. Sleep over, enjoy yourself and drive home safely the next day.

Meet the Business Owner

Nancy Douglas D.

Business Owner

I have been around gourmet cooking all my life as a result of having been raised in France and Morocco. My mother’s side of the family comes from Alsace, in France. I was raised in the Loire Valley and in Morocco French North Africa. The women in my family are known for being excellent cooks. I truly believe that cooking is an art form, part preparation and part presentation, both equally important. It’s much easier to cook if you have seen the dish prepared in front of you, and the same for the serving presentation. I hope you will enjoy these classes as much as I enjoy picking and choosing the recipes to share with you.
