Specialties
Health Moves is a primary care naturopathic and acupuncture medical clinic serving Patients 8yrs old and up.
Our Practitioners specialize in acute and chronic concerns.
Our goal is to treat our Patients with the least invasive treatment plan first and attempt to find the root cause rather than just the symptom.
Naturopathy & Acupuncture have been around for thousands of years and are time tested to work. Often times a simple lifestyle adjustment of diet and exercise is all that is required.
All our Patients are treated as individuals and with respect.
History
Established in 2001.
Health Moves began as a dream to service our patients at their place of employment or senior facility. This started with a converted 36′ RV into a mobile clinic. (Hence the name Health Moves)
At the time, insurance coverage was not available for a mobile clinic however our patients saw the value in taking an hour off work to see their doctor for an hour vs. a half day off for just a few minutes. Employers also saw the benefit and invited us to their site for seminars and group services.
As we were growing and looking to add more mobile units to our fleet, the tech market crashed and shortly after that 911. These events required us to revisit our business plan and make some quick changes. Our patients had less discretional income to use and desired we accept insurance.
We took a fixed location in Woodinville, WA and after 6yrs we grew into a new location that we were able to design and build specific to our purpose and use.
Thank you to all our Patients and staff for many great years!
Meet the Business Owner
Lanika B.
Business Owner
Dr. Lanika Buchanan is the founding doctor of Health Moves. Originally developed with her husband Andrew Max as a mobile clinic, Health Moves found a permanent home in Woodinville in 2002 and has recently grown into a beautiful new location directly across from Woodinville City Hall.
Dr. Buchanan was born in Australia and sailed for 2 years in the Great Barrier Reef on a 22 ft sailboat before traveling throughout Southeast Asia, Nepal and India with her mother, all before the age of eight. She then settled in Big Sur, California in a rustic area without electricity, telephone or paved roads. After graduating from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a BA in Cultural and Medical Anthropology she again travelled around the world, adding Europe to her list of over 25 countries. Upon her return, with extreme determination, she completed a doctorate in naturopathic medicine concurrently with a masters of science degree in acupuncture from Bastyr University.
