Safford RV

I purchased my 7^th RV from Safford and, oh, what a mistake that was. Their service is atrocious. My brand new coach has spent over 100 days in the shop since I purchased it and is still disabled and completely unusable. Even when presented with pictures, Safford will deny that problems exist.
They will often cause new problems on the rare occasion that you can actually get them to try to rectify an existing problem. On the last trip in, they damaged the fresh water lines and I can no longer use my coach because of the leaks they created and refuse to address.
My CR-​V has had to go back multiple times to be worked on because they made such a mess installing the towing hardware. They misconfigured the braking system, which resulted in two of the tires on my brand new car being damaged to the point of having to be replaced when it caused the brakes to lock up.
I’m now stuck in lawsuit hell because they have left me with an almost $ 200,000 camper that I have to make payments on, but cannot use.
I have rarely dealt with a company with such low standards and such a complete and total disregard for its customers. They are disreputable people who operate a very shady business.

Thanks to Noah and Demond they made as close to right as they could. Overall customer service is poor but if I were to deal with Safford RV I would deal with Noah (sales manager) and Demond (mechanic). Two great people.

Parts and service departments are horrible. Even if you go there in person and show them exactly which parts you want they still manage to order the wrong part or just forget about your order all together. It is impossible to raise anyone on the phone other than the receptionist and don’t even bother leaving a message because no one will return it. Trying to get a manager on the phone or in person is impossible, as soon as they see you have an issue that needs to be fixed they go hide in a hole somewhere. I have never seen people work so hard to avoid doing their job. I have RV’d all over the country and been to hundreds of different RV businesses and this one is hands down the worst I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. Businesses like this should not be allowed to survive in America.

We can’t thank Greg Berry, Noah Ingram and Sherry Archie enough for their OUTSTANDING customer service. We went in to just look and bought an RV that will bring great joy to our family. They took the time to show us around and answer all our questions. We have already and will continue to recommend Safford RV to all our family and friends.

STAY AWAY from Safford RV. Our experience with the staff here was horrible as the salesman are highly inexperienced. Moreover, when you can finally reach a manager (which takes call after call) they are rude and don’t have the time of day for you. Mike (salesman) would forget what we even talked about. When they sent us a deal, the numbers didn’t add up and they increased the price of the unit 10,000 from what was advertised. When I brought that up, Mike said «Noah (manager) is very honest.» Since that was his defense I can speculate that he wasn’t being honest and trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Call after call and no one can explain the deal. To make matters worse, each person (sales manager, salesman, finance) told you all different things! Do yourself a favor, stay away from this deceitful and incompetent dealership. Go to 007 RV or Camping World.

CANNOT recommend this place, it started with the deal at the RV show 1 year ago, they had a salesman brought in for the show that made promises he forgot to tell Safford about, ChaChing, the Thor Plazzo MH itself has now been named the rolling turd… First trip back, ice maker broken /​water pump not working properly /​generator didn’t start, did they inspect this thing? Second trip back, generator wouldn’t start, ice maker didn’t work, water pump didn’t work correctly, shower leaked /​toilet loose, passenger seat broken, third trip, getting the picture yet PLUS the drivers side slide was broken wouldn’t go in or out properly, NOW wait… Called to check on the progress and was told it was ready, from DC area with traffic it was a 2 hour drive, Not ready!!! 1month to fix the slide out, there has been many other things broken and times back to Safford I’m just to tired to list them, It’s now time… Made an appointment to take the Rv in for service, absolutely made it clear we were leaving in 8 days for a 4 week trip, called the 2 days before we are leaving to arrange pickup… NOT EVEN BEEN PULLED IN THE SHOP… FFFFFFFF THIS

I was looking for a used travel trailer and saw one on their website which would fit our needs and budget. I called and spoke with one of the salesman. I specifically asked about the condition of the travel trailer, if there were any soft spots in the floor and if the interior unit was clean. The salesman said that the unit was very clean, no soft spots and in great condition. I explained that I needed a camper that did not need any work. I do not have any area where I could complete any repairs, but that normal cleaning was fine.
My wife and I drove with our 2 small kids almost 2 hours to see this camper. With everything that was said about the camper, I had every intention of buying the camper for the priced agreed upon.
When we got to Saffords, we were waiting for our salesman, when another came up to us and asked if we needed help. I stated that we were waiting for someone, he immediately pulled his hand back and walked away. Once our salesman came over, he walked us to the camper.
I should have known this camper was going to be in rough shape when he stated «we were going to wholesale this out until you called». Then they had parked the camper in a muddy field. As soon as I walked in, I could tell this camper was in fait condition. He immediately walked to the back and stated «Wow, there is a soft spot in the floor back here» The queen bed was filthy, numerous moldings were hanging down and it appeared to have water damage. I asked all of these questions when we spoke over the phone.
We looked at another camper, but the awning was trashed and they were unwilling to fix it.
Over the course of the past month, I spoke with no less than 20 different RV dealers. Everyone was very upfront with the condition of the camper and if it did have any soft spots in the floor, except for Safford RV. I wasted a whole day driving down and back just to see a camper in fair condition, that this salesmen knew I would not buy.
Buyer beware. There is no reason to lie about something, just to get someone in the door. If I thought it would matter, I would call and speak with the manager, but they never made an effort to come out and speak with me while I was there.

I got a call from a Paul Sweeney from Safford RV as I was driving to work yesterday (day after event). I was still very angry and yelled a lot on the phone but Paul kept a calm demeanor and handled the situation very well. I retold my story to him and he said he would review all of my paperwork and call me back later in the day.
He called back around 4 PM and acknowledged that they had a few opportunities to resolve some issues and failed to do so, he apologized and offered me a refund of $ 600.
He also asked me about the tire blowout and apologized for missing the dry rotted tires during the roadworthiness inspection and said that he would like to pay for the tire that blew out. I had replaced all the tires at cost of $ 1200.
So they offered me $ 800 and offered to fix the battery problem once and for all free of charge.
This could all have been resolved so much easier and saved everybody time and money and saved my blood pressure, this Unilocal review the Facebook review, Twitter review, and the website. All it would’ve taken would have been a little compassion after I pointed out that the first ‘fix’ did not work there was no offer of any discount or let’s take another look at it free of charge. Nothing other than making me feel like I had done something wrong or was too stupid to explain the problem.
I’m torn now about this dealership. Paul Sweeney definitely came through and did the right thing. Other staff failed miserably given multiple opportunities to remedy the situation.
I’ve been without my RV now for almost a month and there’s little chance that we will be a going on another trip now due to changing weather. The $ 800 is just money that I had spent at SaffordRv for nothing it’s not extra money. There’s no compensation for the lost time without my RV. I also can’t help thinking how close my family and I could’ve came to being hurt if those tires had blown up in a different location /​time. When you go to someone who is supposed to be an expert in the field and put your life in their hands it seems within reason that they should somehow be held accountable if they fail in their expertise that you paid for.
What’s really sad is I made it known at that counter that this was just a starter RV for us and that we really enjoyed it and wanted to buy a newer one. In fact Stacy recommended someone in the sales department to us. With this knowledge knowing that we’re going to spend thousands and thousands of dollars there on top of the thousands we had already spent to service our older vehicle, why would they not work with us originally to resolve something so simple?
Like I said earlier I’m torn about this dealership they’ve made a good effort to calm me down and make things right, but I wonder why?
When I receive my money back and they fix the battery problem or tell me that it cannot be fixed whatever it is, i ‘ll ipdate this review again.
I think the lesson learned here is that if somebody at this business does not give you the service you deserve call Paul Sweeney the manager and deal with him directly.
I don’t recall ever being so angry at any business ever. Paul handled it well. At this point no lawyers will be involved.
I’m going to withhold my final judgment and all future RV decisions until I get my money back and the batteries fixed as promised.
I’m also upgrading my one Star review to a three star based solely on Paul Sweeney’s handling of a very very very pissed off customer.

Thinking that the Safford RV service department would be closer to where I live I opted to take my 2008 Winnebago Access there for service. However, that was a mistake. I made an appointment, as directed, but was never contacted with an update. I had one e-​mail from the dealer regarding the nature of my request and that was it. I have had to call repeatedly, left several voice messages regarding my RV. I have yet to hear back from the dealer. Overall, my experience with the Safford RV service department has been negative. in the future I will take my RV to another dealer for service.
