Sam’s Club

I went to the Sam’s in Turnersville today for tires that I had gotten a quote for earlier in the week. They were out of stock on all the tires I needed, but the attendant said deptford might have what I was looking for. He didn’t have the ability to check the inventory on their computers, and said that since they were always kept on hold when they tried to call to check it was usually better if the customer called instead. He got the number for me, and when I called I was promptly put on hold for the tire department. 5 minutes later nobody had ever picked up so I hung up and tried back. Same result, put on hold and nobody ever picked up. I called again and asked for a manager… was put on hold again. .and 7 minutes later nobody had ever picked up. Called AGAIN asking directly for a manager, was put on hold, and never answered. All told I was on hold for close to 30 minutes. This is beyond unacceptable. If a manager isn’t available, the receptionist at the membership counter should have offered to take my information and have my call returned, not get all huffy when I ask to have my call answered after half a dozen attempts to call. Horrible customer relations, very unimpressed, took my business to the Tires Plus right across the street (at the recommendation of the attendant at the Sam’s in turnersville, who was appalled and very apologetic about Deptford’s failure)

I don’t even know what to say. I thought I was going to Sam’s Club not Baltimore! Wow you can not even think over the ear deafening gangster rap music blasting by the food stand. Extremely unpleasant experience. I was very upset and offended by the music.

I got cheap gas here today and i didnt have to be a sams club member.

I have been critical of Sam’s in the past for their lack of open checkout lanes, especially during busier times. During my last couple visits I did not have any problems, and I recently found their self checkout lanes to be the fastest way to go, if you don’t mind scanning your own stuff and paying with debit.
In case I haven’t said it before, the sandwich rolls from their bakery are the freshest (and cheapest) around. Their country style spare ribs are also now a regular purchase from here, simply because they are such a bargain and they cook up nice and tender.
Bought gasoline a couple times here too, always a few cents cheaper than everywhere else AND you don’t need a membership card for gas. No kidding. You still have to wait in the dumb long lines though. I like to get gas before I go shopping here, so I don’t have to wait forever to fill my tank while I have bags of groceries in the car.
Last and most importantly, the TV we purchased from here about a year ago got fried during a recent thunder storm. The damage to the TV was not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, but it was covered under the extended warranty we purchased through Sam’s, from day one! They sent out a repairman a couple days after we submitted the claim, and he informed us it would cost more than the TV is worth to repair it, so Sam’s would most likely replace it. Less than a week later we received a check in the mail to replace the TV. We then bought a newer and nicer model TV, also from Sam’s, with their extended warranty. Highly recommended!

Checkout always takes forever. Any time of day.
I’ve been carrying a recipe around in my wallet for years because every time I go in there they tell me my membership is expired. After longer than I’d like to admit, I learned my lesson. I still get told all the time that my membership has expired, but I have my proof on me. Unfortunately, this makes check out even longer.
Good deals on chicken and pork, I usually buy frozen vegetables here.
I wish there was a costco around here.

You can’t pump your own gas in New Jersey. Sam’s Club has always had gas attendants out at the pumps to pump for you.
Today there was a attendant washing customers windshields.
He is part of a Sam’s promotion team out here 2 weeks
(They also offer to fix and crack in the windshield ! Great guy)
