AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care

Got there right after it opened. No changing table for babies in the restroom, no toilet paper, and the receptionist sounds like she has whooping cough. Going to leave here with another illness. Shouldn’t a doctor’s office be clean and equipped especially at the beginning of the day?

I’ve had to visit here a couple of times for minor enjuries and once for a x-​ray. I was impressed each time with a short waiting time and expert Help. The staff was really helpful and kind.

Awesome! My whole family goes to doctors express for care. We have been going for years and prefer to go here for faster services than our primary care doctors. All the staff members are friendly and really know how to tend to the little kids. My daughter loves going here becaus everyone is friendly. The front staff is very welcoming and helpful. The nurses are great and explain carefully the test they are going to preform. The dotes are great and answer any and all questions I have. They take their time and we never feel rushed to hurry and get out. Great place to go!

My husband and I actually prefer to go here, as opposed to trying to get an appointment with our PC. The staff at the front desk, the triage nurses, and the doctors are all professional, extremely caring, and take their time. The waiting room, triage room, and the exam rooms are all very clean. I never feel rushed, or feel like a number, like we have at other urgent care facilities or even at our own PC. I have had nothing but great experiences with all of the doctors. We have gone few times using insurance and once when we were between insurances; was easy and not insanely expensive. I highly, highly recommend Doctors Express.

Have insurance? Go elsewhere. Never mention that you have insurance. Staring at a unbelievable bill that insurance covered for 97 dollars and they still want another 114. I don’t even pay a specialist this amount for a hand shake and talk.

This is the first time I have ever used an urgent care facility. The staff was very professional and caring. Dr. Wierzbicki was very thorough, warm and caring. I will definitely go back if I need an urgent care!

Ok so the very nature of «express» medical care doesn’t lend itself to the comforting care one receives from the town doctor. That being understood, this place comes close to falling short of already lowered expectations.
I’ve been here several times between my son and myself. Each time for high fevers or other symptoms resembling those of a virus. Each time we’ve received the necessary care. And I stress the use of the word necessary. The wait always seemed a little longer than necessary. Even when I was there late at night I would still have to wait about 15 minutes to be seen. At the end of my last visit I took a moment after the doctor was done to gather myself and get ready to leave. The doctor very politely informed me that «it was closing time» and «we’re trying to close up» so I could leave whenever I was ready. There is no extra concern shown or given. Bedside manner of the doctors and nurses vary since your medical provider is a roll of the dice. Again, understandable since this is an urgent care center. Do not expect them to be concerned that you feel nauseous if it falls in line with the symptoms of what they think you have. Do not expect a glass of water because you are hacking like a feral cat. And do not expect a blanket if you are shivering so hard you look like Miley Cyrus at the VMA’s.
All that being said I have found that their diagnoses have been accurate, to the best of my understanding, and prescriptions have always addressed the ailments. The nurses and doctors always seem knowledgeable and the facilities are always clean. However, considering they are always handling people who are in a vulnerable state, seems their bedside manner in general could use some improvement. The bottom line is, they get the job done — nothing more.

I have never in my life written a review about a health care provider. I sure am now.
My husband went to Dr. Express due to mouth/​tooth pain. He has had this many times before as he has a genetic disorder which the teeth wear away. We were unable to see his Dentist so I called to see if he could get in on a Sunday. We could, so in we went.
Things started off Great! Front desk was wonderful. Then it went south. He waited an hour and a half to be seen (but we can say that it was Sunday, so that makes sense).
Now in the Room! Great! Or not. The Nurse didn’t know how to work not 1 but 2 different thermometers. Finally my husband showed her how. Okay fine! That happens. Then in comes the Dr Nancy Fleurancois
She insinuates that my husband does drugs. The man doesn’t even like to take Ibuprophen. When he tells her it is a genetic disorder, she asks about all the tests he got from his Dentist and was dissatisfied with the answers. Later she brings back up that she really only sees this kind of tooth decay with drug use. Seriously?
Then she does the sinus tap. Her nails poke him (not painfully but she pokes him). When he says the only discomfort is her nails, she feels the need to argue with him! Dr. Fleurancois says that she keeps her nails short enough that it has to be his sinuses. Wow, because my husband can’t tell the difference between a fingernail poking him and internal sinus pain?
Lastly, as she is examining his mouth, Dr. Fleurancois actively has a disgusted look on her face! I’m sorry, my husband is a human being and deserves to be treated with respect. Yes he has tooth decay, as stated before it is genetic, not drug use. This behavior is absolutely horrendous. It may not be my place to say that it’s inappropriate but I work in the health care field and I have never in my 11 years of experience treated someone who has any sort of genetic disorder with disgust.
Finally Dr Fleurancois decided to just passive aggressively say that it doesn’t matter if it was a sinus infection or a tooth pain because it is the same treatment for both and she doesn’t want to argue. Seriously? This has to be the worst experience ever for my husband.
Warning. If you decide to go, and your get Dr Nancy Fleurancois you better be in perfect health or she will just judge you right out of the gate.

This place and clean and the staff is friendly. My mother-​in-​law sliced her finger on a sunday and we showed up to the clinic 15 minutes before closing. I was delighted how friendly they were as i know how annoying it can be to have last-​minute patients. We were in and out without any issue. great job :)

Update: went to see my regular doctor, not at doctors express, was prescribed antibiotics and steroids, wish the doctor at doctors express had paid more attention to my symptoms… Not going back to doctors express.

My daughter and I got to Dr’s Express ten minutes before they closed. I fully expected them to turn us away. I could tell that the girls in the front were ready to go home but they were very nice and processed my daughter’s paperwork. They were totally professional. Dr. Black was great. He acted as if he had all the time in the world to explain my daughter’s problem to us. Even though it was so late I never once felt rushed to get out of their office. I will definitely continue to use this location in the future, if needed. Also, the last time I took my daughter there for a suspected knee injury they called a few days later to check on her. I have never had a doctor’s office do a follow-​up call.

Had several vaccinations for a trip abroad. Prices are high but staff and doc where nice. Not many docs offer vaccinations so I appreciated that they do.

A nurse even called me a few days later to make sure I was feeling better.

Went back to Dr Express with daughter who had a UTI. Saw a different doctor who was nice but… Two weeks later when she was running a fever and complaining of back pain we take her to her regular pediatrician who discovers that the doctor at Doctors Express under prescribed her the antibiotic. Instead of a proper weight ratio of 4 teaspoons 2x pr day the Doctor at Doctor Express only prescribed her 1 teaspoons 2x per day. Which lead to her getting a KIDNEY infection. To top it off Doctor Express never cultured her urine to nsure the antibiotic they prescribed would treat her infection.
Sloppy and careless!

I am so glad Doctors Express in Woodbridge has Sunday hours and accepts Virginia Medicaid.
Robert, the medical assistant, was very friendly. The two women at the front desk were very helpful.
I normally take my daughter to the Hoadly Medical Care where we are usually seen by a Physician Assistant… but at Doctor’s Express in Woodbridge we saw a REAL doctor!
Dr. Raymond Weinstein diagnosed my daughter’s painful ear infection and was so kind to us.
