Terminix

My technician, Dennis, is great. I had lots of questions and he patiently answered them. He is very familiar with my house and my sister’s house. We usually have him do both properties on the same day. I had a huge nest of carpenter ants. He identified them and got rid of them. I haven’t seen one since. I’m very happy with him and Terminex.

There are no local #s for Terminix anymore… Today, I have been routed to Dallas, TX,
Tampa, FL, Memphis, TN… just to try to reach the branch manager in Woburn, MA!
How effective can this be? Very disappointed in Terminix.
So…It only took 5 days… but, alas my issue was resolved… thanks to Bill Gausch in the Woburn, MA office… which is who I was trying to reach in the first place!

So upset I had to give you 1 star. I’ve had terminix for 4 yrs now. I needed them to do a termite evaluation and service when I bought my house. I decided to add the pest plan, as my indoor cat had recently found friends with fleas. I asked them to do the entire house in which I was told I couldn’t be home. I packed up the cat and kids and left the house unattended. The house smelled when I returned a few hours later, but guess what… still fleas in my kitchen and upstairs. Called again to reschedule another appointment in which I had to pack up the cat and leave. I told the guy to completely spray the house, everywhere. guess what, I checked my cameras when I got home. He was here for 4 minutes, didn’t spray really anything. Debating calling the news channel so they can watch the video of it… nice try to save money terminix, and thanks for making me use my time off to have to do this a third time, if it was done right the first time I wouldn’t have to keep calling them back. Absolutely pathetic, if they do a flea spray, leave and park around the corner and see how long they stay.

If zero stars was an option, I would give zero stars. And it appears Unilocal agrees. I have rarely encountered a company with such poor customer service. We had an inspection that went fine, but we then scheduled the treatment and no one showed up. We took an entire day off work, and no one showed up. We called and called and they kept saying, «We’ll get back to you» and then eventually never came. When I called there was no apology. They then rescheduled for a few days in the future but said that that appointment would only be an inspection (again? why?) and they would not treat. There was never an answer as to why the inspection had to happen twice. They seemed confused as well. I asked to speak with a supervisor who had a very poor understanding of company policy as well. I then asked for a call back from a manager, and was assured I would hear back within «48 business day hours» (whatever that meant). I waited two days, never heard from anyone, and eventually called myself and canceled. They seemed surprised! When I explained the horrible service, she said, «Is that all?». And then before hanging up said, «Thank you so much for choosing Terminix for your termite needs!». I didn’t, and never will again! Stay away! I found another company that was cheerful, responsive and cheaper.

I had disastrous experience. First no one showed up for scheduled appointment. Then when I called I was told that appointment wasn’t scheduled because they didn’t send confirmation… Well no one mentioned that there will be confirmation. Then I got random voice mail from the tech at terminix that he came, but no one is here. No wonder –that wasn’t scheduled. Then I called and expressed my disappointment. When I just called to set up new appointment I was informed that they won’t reinstate my account. My advise: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH TERMINIX!

I had used there service in the past and for the most part i agree with the other reviews. In their eyes they think charging 115.00 for just spraying the outside of the house is acceptable. I had already cancelled the service and they still came out. Now i’m dealing with collections.
Don’t waste your time with this Terminex.
Find someone else.

UGH, HORRIBLE!!! I just moved into a condo and discovered a major pest infestation. I called an exterminator and he informed me that there were a few Terminix traps in the basement, maybe the building had an account with Terminix? I come to find out that not only has Terminix supposedly been maintaining service in the building, they were just there a few days before! They must have come in and tossed a few traps into the basement. They didn’t contact anyone in the building, and apparently didn’t notice or care that there were mice running around everywhere. That is NOT a good job. When confronted about this very inadequate ‘maintenance’ they were defensive and obnoxious. I scheduled two separate return visits to actually address the mice in my apartment and had no shows both times — that equals 4 hours of work I had to miss because of these clowns. After the first no show, I called and threatened to cancel our building’s service — after all, I’d just had another exterminator over and their company seemed perfectly competent to take over. The Terminix manager was apologetic and assured me we’d be the first stop the following morning… AND then no one showed up in the 2 hour window. When I terminated the contract, the manager at least had the courtesy to refund the building for the last ‘maintenance’ visit without a whole lot of fuss. I appreciate this — especially since their invoice lied about visiting individual units and setting traps. Horrible customer service, horrible building maintenance. If you are paying someone to keep mice out of your apartment, you tell them there are mice running around your kitchen, and then no one shows up for days? That is just not going to cut it. There are a lot of Boston-​based pest removal companies. LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!

If we were writing this a year ago, they would have been lucky to get a star. But since a threat to cancel service, they have improved. It really shouldn’t take that, though.
As you might expect, the first time they come out, you pretty much don’t see a critter within a half mile of your house for a month. It’s nice. But over time I feel like they got complacent. We pay annually for them to come out quarterly, and there was a steady drop off in attention and time spent on our house.
We have a bee problem. Something about the replacement windows that the previous owner installed. They form incessant nests under the windows, around the lip of the pool, in the shutters, etc. They are everywhere, and I know they are tough to expunge completely. But I don’t want to hear things from my exterminator like: «Yeah, there’s really nothing you can do.» Ditto was said about a problem with silverfish we were having awhile back. There may be nothing WE can do, but that’s why I pay YOU. It says «Exterminator» on the side of your truck! If it said «Philosophical Entomologist», I could appreciate your apathy.
Anyway, like I said… they have improved of late, but you need to stay on top of them.
