Ruh-​roh. I guess we know why they’re closed now. Went for the last time, last summer and was TEEEERRRRRRIBLE. Oh, so sad!
Oh well. At least we feel no need to visit Woburn anytime soon.

Closed, building torn down, sad good beer, food was okay… just okay, better luck to the next business that goes into the spot

I love the idea of a local brew pub in the area but jeeze…
This place just can’t seem to figure out the recipe for a well-​run restaurant/​bar. The beers are always hot, the service is decent and the food is sub-​par and quite expensive. Save your time and money and venture over to Grumpy Doyle’s.

Go there for the alcohol as they are great with servicing you and are helpful with taste selections of their own brews.
DO NOT go there for the food. I HAVE BEEN VERY DISAPPOINTED EVERYTIME.
Small portions, undercooked or overcooked cuisines, I honestly would have went down the street to the 9’s and got food to go there and bring it up to this place it was so pitiful.
The chef there should consider calling the guy down the street from any local restaurant for advice… I personally thought hungry man frozen dinners tasted better than there crap.
But service and drinks got the stars in this review, so go there for a social get together and head to McDonald’s at the mall afterwards.

Every time I have come here (about 3 – 4 times), the experience stinks. From the drinks to the food to the service — it’s all bad. Kinda sad too because I think this could be a very cool place to go watch a game or grab a casual dinner.

I’m surprised this place has such low ratings. I think it’s a solid 3 stars :-)
I’ll start with the bad:
I went for dinner once and asked for one of their blueberry beer. The waiter brought me the same wrong beer three times before he finally got me the one I asked for. He must have had a bad nigh, but come on! Three times!
Another time, I had a Caesar salad and I asked for the dressing on a side. Thank god I did because they brought me GARLIC MAYO as DRESSING. Gross! I asked the waitress for the real Caesar dressing and she said she’d be right back and didn’t even apologize… 20 minutes later. Nothing. I ate my salad and only until we asked for our check, she looked at me and had that look on her face of «uh oh, I forgot what you asked for»… I let it go because we were on a hurry
The good:
They had a delicious fish (cod, I think) with chorizo crumbs and mashed potatoes.
I could actually speak to my boyfriend at the table, unlike other bars where you can’t hear your own thoughts

Dear Unilocal,Please add a negative star option to your website. I don’t often complain about restaurants or service, I work as a server and I know the ins and outs of how anything could possibly go wrong with someones dining experience. But good God, this was by far the WORST restaurant experience I’ve ever encountered.
I went in last night (Saturday) with a party of 8 for a friends birthday. We were sat right away and was greeted by our server (KIM) shortly after that, so far so good. Everything else after that was just flat out terrible. First off, it was a slow saturday night, the place wasn’t even half full. Our server named Kim took almost 25 minutes to get our first order of drinks to our table and then after that maybe another 20 minutes just to get our order into the kitchen. Like I said, it was a slow Saturday night and we could clearly see that Kim was either MIA in the kitchen or bar. If she wasn’t MIA, she was dicking around at the host stand opening some presents that someone left there or flirting with some bro. But NO BIG DEAL! We’ll just sit here watching you make a fool of yourself while our food’s getting cold in the kitchen or while our drinks are getting flat at the bar… NO BIG DEAL! Anyway, we order a second round of drinks through her and once again it took an eternity for them to get to the table. Finally dinner arrives 30ish minutes after we order and don’t get me wrong, the food looked fine, but it’s pretty hard to eat without any napkins or silverware. Once again reliable Kim came to save the day, 10 more minutes for silverware to arrive, along with condiments. Food was mediocre at best in case you were wondering. But long story short, my Sea Dog Brew Pub experience was terrible. Service from Kim was terrible, worst I’ve ever encountered. Food was okay but being so mad at the time probably made it worse than it actually was. The only saving grace was the beer… Thank god for beer.
DON’T GO HERE! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! AND FOR GOD SAKES IF YOU GET KIM AS A SERVER, JUST RUN AWAY!

My family and I have frequented the Sea Dog since it first opened in Woburn. Unfortunately I have to say the quality has steadily declined to the point we are definitely never going again.
Problems:
Odor: You are greeted by a stale beer smell when you first walk in
Service: Rookies… today the waitress spilled soda on my son and didn’t even try to help clean up.
Food: So bad

The Sea Dog Brew is a pub, good for games and beer. The service is good, however the GM Trish really stands out. She was very kind, attentive to customers, and appeared to be very helpful around the restaurant.
I highly recommend beer and apps only at the restaurant. The reuben sandwich was perfect and the wings are delicious. Go for the season beer!

This place is a decent 2.5 stars on food and 3 on beer. The service is not the best but I wouldn’t expect high quality at a brew pub. I ordered the arugula goat cheese salad with chicken. I enjoyed it. others I were with got the pulled pork cruben, fish poboy, and the fish and chips. All
were good and satisfying. The beer selection is excellent and modestly priced. Nice outdoor seating. Not a high quality place but good bar food and great beer.

I don’t understand why so many people give this place negative reviews. I thought the food was decent if you expect anticipate normal barfood. Don’t come here thinking it is going to be a gourmet restaurant it is a bar.
The beer is pretty good and I enjoyed it. Being a beer guy I’m a little bit pickier about my beer but still thought it was pretty good. There are much better craft breweries in the area and also where I’m from in Cleveland Ohio but I thought they did a pretty good job. I do not recall what I had for my entrée but it was probably just some fried sandwich with some french fries. But then again that’s what I expected from a bar to my expectations were right where they needed to be. I enjoyed my sandwich and fries and left happy and full without breaking my wallet either.

The best way to describe my experience here can be summed up in a single thought… Well I’ve always wanted to try this place. At least now I know.
I wanted to like Sea Dog Brew Pub. I often see this place when driving southbound on 95. They make some decent beer that’s carried by restaurants and bars around the area. It’s gotta be good right? Wrong. I liken SDBP’s food to an after-​thought. Like, «Hey we make some good beer. I guess we should sell stuff that goes with it huh?». Then POOF! and out comes an uninspired attempt at bar food.
My party ordered the loaded tater tots. What we got were dry, tater-​shaped mash potatoes battered and deep-​fried. I’d only eat them again if they were free or I’m blind and someone tricked me. My BBQ Bacon Burger was also a let down. I have to wonder if SDBP purposely screws up their burgers because the bread was over-​sized and dry, my fries were definitely re-​fried (you know that soggy texture and extra oily taste?), and there was actually no BBQ sauce on my burger. I realized I was missing BBQ after I subconsciously grabbed the ketchup bottle while chewing my first bite. I didn’t want to send it back because I had a sneaking suspicion that their BBQ sauce was just A1 Steak Sauce mixed with ketchup, yuck.
Man, this is a scathing review. So why did I give SDBP two stars? Well, they have good beer. I ordered the Blonde Ale and I liked it. Service was also friendly. Too bad everything else was a big stinking pile of fail. Oh well, at least now I know.

I don’t understand all of the really bad reviews for this place. I went in with pretty low expectations after seeing all the 1 and 2 star reviews, but ended up being really satisfied.
The pub is bigger than you think — almost to the point that you feel you’re at a buffet restaurant without a buffet. They have a great beer selection that extends well beyond just the Sea Dog brews and a pretty good drink menu too. The menu is your typical pub fare with a good amount of items that can be made gluten free.
The burger is good — higher quality than fast food, but not quite as good as some of the more gourmet burgers around. The pulled pork was disappointing. My wife loved the gluten free potato skins. Service was surprisingly good with extra care taken to make sure there were no surprise gluten incidents.

The beer is GREAT. The food? SKIP IT. And most definetly skip the thing they call lobster bisque. I think it was made a month ago and they were still serving the dark orange burnt bisque. Disgusting.

I would give these guys zero stars if I could. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Went there with a group of about 25 or so Saturday night — this was NOT the first time the group was there and arrangements were made in advance. We’d asked for arrangements for a sit-​down dinner and instead they set up the side room as if we were going to be standing around.
Service: sucked. I had to go and FETCH the waiter multiple times to get a food order placed, to get a drink refilled, AND to get the bill.
Kitchen: sucked. How incompetent do you have to be to take THREE tries to grill steak tips to the correct done-​ness? I ordered them medium. First they came out well done (and my girlfriend’s were VERY rare when she’d ordered medium rare). OK, send both back. Second try, hers came out medium and she just ate them the way they were. Mine were rare — basically inedible for me. I should have just shut up and eaten them well done. The waiter offers to go get the manager. Um… why? will she be coming out with some medium tips? THIRD try they got it right — mostly. Some were more on the medium well but by then I was starving so I ate them all.
«singer»: And I use the term loosely. He had a GREAT playlist. And every artist who’s work he «sang» would have strangled this turkey if they could have heard him. He apparently thought he was the reincarnation of Bob Dylan (Yeah, I know he’s not dead), because he was yelling at the mike, not singing. He also had the goddamn amplifiers cranked up so loud that my ears were hurting and I was all the way across the restaurant from him. My throat was hurting from trying to shout above this turkey when he was «playing». When I said something to the manager, her response was «Well everyone else seems to like him». Really? Would that be why the place was ¾ empty at 9:30 on a Saturday night?
In short — if my group goes back there, I’ll pass. AVOID THIS PLACE. I will NEVER go there again.

Food was average, but too pricey for the establishment. Could have gone to Legal Seafood or a nicer establishment for the same price with better quality and service.
The service was rubbish. I had to go to the hostess table 2x to get service, plates, napkins, and utensils.
Our drinks and water took forever.
Our food took forever.
Our waiter disappeared.
At one point I wondered if we should leave (party of 5).
Waiter got a 15% tip, but I really wanted to leave him a lot less than that.
The management of this place needs to go back to HOW TO RUN A RESTAURANT 101.
The management did touch the table and we voiced our concerns and they offered to comp our appetizer, but our waiter let us know if they did that, it would be comped out of his pay. That is not fair. Sounds like they have some really crappy management and business practices. I won’t go to a restaurant that does not treat their help right.
Thank god someone pulled the horrible live band off the stage. No music is better than what was up there.
Due to my experience, I will not be going back.
This restaurant seems lost and in some dire help from a Restaurant Consultant.

I want to like this place, but I just don’t. While sitting in traffic on 95, the Sea Dog Brew Pub beckons with burgers and beer. It’s not a chain. There’s more than enough seating. I can wait out traffic and not have to make dinner. It’s so promising.
But the service errs on the side of slow. There’s absolutely no personality to the place. It’s devoid of ambiance, charm, or coziness. The food is bland and overpriced.
Of course, the beers are good. Two stars for the beers, though each time I’ve gone the list of beers they «just ran out of» seemed a bit long. Two stars for being a viable and somewhat more enjoyable alternative to wasting away in traffic.
Will I fall victim to the siren song of Sea Dog Brew Pub again? It’s possible. I have no patience for traffic and beer is delicious. But I think I’ll give up ordering dinner, sitting anywhere but the bar and having any real expectations of an enjoyable time.

I’m not in love with this place. I’ve given this place a few chances to see if they would improve. But, I think the majority of who comes in just settles for bare minimum.
Customer service isn’t anything to rave about. Phony, «would you like a drink or an appetizer» spiel.
Food is more expensive than what its worth. This place doesn’t stand out from any other restaurant.
I miss the place that preceded SeaDog.

Has the initial look of an old, harbor side tavern, til you realize like your stonewashed jeans, the artificial wear and tear is just part of the schtick.
Sea Dog is brewed with Shipyard, so both brands are repped on their $ 5 taps — a veritable orchard of fruity beer flavors. Blueberry to Apple Head, Smashed Pumpkin to Woodchuck, there are more than a dozen vastly varying varietals on CO2 and a few casked for your drinking pleasure.
Food’s fine and filling, with a surprisingly adept Cuban (the roast pork arrived in tender hunks on the perfectly pressed bread) and outstanding sweet potato fries (I’d argue it’s the copious amount of salt) that really shouted capital W-​I-​N! On the other hand, the fried pickle arrived ugly and naked, just a poor puny pickle quartered lengthwise, battered and deep sizzled with no accompanying sauce of whatever. With the sad appeal of an old hooker, it was priced to match ($ 2.50).
The bar packed stools… let me rephrase that. The bar was busy, and could easily have been the set for Woburn’s Single and Ready to Mingle. Grab a pint and bust out your best Mystery line (remember, touching escalates kino), but if possible, avoid tickling the pickle.

There was a consistent «mailing it in» taste to everything we had here:
* Buff wrap
* Meatloaf sandwich
* Mushroom and onion side.
The beer was good but not stellar, tried the Hazelnut Porter and the Blonde. Both are better at most similar places.
Huge parking lot. The one in Hull is more appropriate to the nautical theme, with its ocean view.
Waiter was a strange dude.
