History

Established in 1995.

Steve and John have worked on transmissions since they were both right out of tech school. (We will leave it at that — no need to share ages!) Combined, they offer over 50 years of transmission repair expertise. They have been partners since October of 1995 and prior to that they both worked for a well established transmission repair company in the Greater Lowell area.

John and Steve are like dream team of the mechanic world. Extremely accurate and precise with their diagnosis. And most of all beyond fair. They helped me figure out exactly what I needed done. And I’ve never felt happier giving money to these honest men who provide service. The work on my 04 Suburu Outback AWD is phenomenal and it runs like a brand new vehicle. I’m fairly handy myself. I have always worked on my own cars, but every so often something stumps me and I get stuck. I brought my car down to another mechanic who pretty much told me to get my transmission replaced, and that same mechanic recommend his own guy to do the job.
I decided to instead look up places and I’m glad I did. It turned out to be a shorted 18 – 20 gauge wire that was the source of my transmissions computer not working.
Thanks again Steve, I hope to never have to spend another dime on transmission repairs but if I do I’ll be happy to have you look at it every time!

I just took my van to Precision to get an issue with the transmission checked out. Even though they are very busy, Steve took the time to drive it and give me a good understanding of what is most likely the problem. He definitely knows what he’s talking about. I’ve been an HVAC mechanic for over 35 years and can tell when I’m be treated by an honest professional. I would not hesitate to have Precision work on my vehicles!

I was recommended by my usual mechanic for a transmission issue. Steve is so honest and kind, and was incredibly helpful about explaining the issue. Turns out, all I needed was a transmission computer reset. He drove around with me for over 30 minutes, looked my car over thoroughly, and performed the reset. We drove again for a while to make sure it was fixed. He charged me nothing at all, wouldn’t even take a coffee or a bite to eat! I would recommend Steve to anyone for any auto issue. He is a true, trustworthy and honest professional.

So happy I pulled into this place for help with my Jeep Commander. Steve saved me many headaches with his precise diagnosis of what I thought was my transmission. Not even the dealership could detect what was wrong with my Jeep, but Steve was able to, plus saved me the full cost of what the dealership was trying to charge me. I left the dealership with a «0» balance, everything fully covered and all thanks to an honest business. I highly recommend it!

This place is really great.
We brought our crappy Volvo here after it started heaving and shaking and becoming totally un-​driveable. Steve explained it was a problem with part of the drive shaft which he’d never seen before, and while it took him a few days to locate the part he needed, the repair went smoothly and I thought was a pretty fair price considering the age of our Volvo, the part needed, and the fact that our Volvo is a «Special Edition» and finding parts for it is challenging. I would definitely go here again or recommend anyone with a transmission problem to come here!

Steve and John have rebuilt transmissions in a couple of different used cars that I have owned over the past 12 years. I found them to be honest and willing to go the extra mile diagnosing an unrelated issue with a cracked exhaust manifold and clogged catalytic converter in one of those vehicles. While a transmission rebuild is never an inexpensive service, I have been very pleased with the pricing, quality and timeliness of work they performed. A+++
