Mt. Olympus Resort and Water & Theme Park

You get what you pay for! We stayed here for their super cheap off-​season deals, and I wish I would’ve splurged on the wilderness! The rooms smell like dirty baby diapers and have wooden chairs in place of a couch or reading chair. The indoor water park is so small it’s basically nonexistent. The «hot tub» is barely warm! I asked the manager to check the temperature of the «hot tub» because it seemed cold (I take baths at warmer temperatures), and he checked and said, «100 degrees! That’s where we keep it!» The average hot tub is usually set between 103 – 104! However, the «best» part of this trip was the paper thin walls and ceiling. While trying to sleep at 11:00 pm all we could hear were kids running (and running HARD) upstairs. I complained twice to the front desk and had to threaten to go up there, myself before it became slightly better. My advice to anyone wanting to stay here is, don’t waste your money here! It’s not even worth $ 40/​night! If you want to go to the dells I recommend the wilderness! That is worth every penny!

Went here to celebrate my 30^th b day… Was the «cheapest» for a hotel for our particular weekend.
1.The parking lot SUCKED!
2. our double bed hotel room was way down the block… mind you its winter in WI=that sucks!
3.went on a Friday, Saturday morning fire alarm started going off at NINE am until 945 am!
4.walls are PAPER thin! could hear the neighbors ENTIRE conversation and whiny baby
5.we were placed on the 3^rd floor, ice machine is on FIRST?!
6. Beds Sucked! very hard and not comfy at all
on Saturday the rest of our friends made their way up here and we rented a «cabin» from mt Olympus… AGAIN, VERY far away AND you can only get there a certain way… house was beautiful and SUPER clean granted, while getting out of our car to walk in, there was a dead mouse in the drive way!
called the manager right away when we got in as we noticed there were some stains on the couch and scratches on the kitchen table (they make you pay an additional 500 $ refundable deposit for damages, etc.)
–we were happy as we got to check into the cabin at around 11 so that was really nice
–AGAIN beds still sucked, not comfy
–we headed to the pool around 5 pm… it was PACKED! very small indoor pool area for all the rooms they have.
–There were 2 hot tubs which had a LOT of people waiting in line for each so we didn’t get a chance to go in
–after a night of drinking/​celebrating check out time of 1030 am is WAY to early.
all in all trip was nice. The parking lot NEEDS to be redone and the inconvenience of having to drive to the water park in the winter was ridiculous. (when you book, they don’t let you know you NOT be able to walk from your hotel room to the pool, you have to DRIVE)

Cheap getaway with our 16 month old to see the indoor water park and amusement park. We hadn’t been here before at all, but I hear it’s incredibly crowded. We came on a Sunday and stayed till Monday afternoon. It wasn’t terrible for the price, but I swear I can still smell the chlorine, and I slept like crap on that horrid bed.
Parking was not set up well. It’s hard to explain but I prefer hotels that have parking against the building. Not placed farther away in one cluster. We also had to walk outside to get to the indoor theme park. Set up a cheap hallway or something. It can’t be that expensive.
I didn’t know anything about the indoor water park before we came, but it was smaller than I expected. I can see why people complain about how crowded it gets.
There is a shallow pool just a few inches deep for the little ones, a lazy river, slides, and the worst margaritas imaginable. Oh well, at least they sell liquor.
I like how they have the locked storage chests in the hallways with the towels and soap and stuff. No carts. It’s all right there. Probably because it’s a long ass walk to the rooms.
Not bad for the price, but pools and winter don’t mix.

So this is a winter review of Mount Olympus Water Resort. We decided to go here on February 19^th weekend. And stayed here for 2 nights first off the hotel is very spread out. It almost seems like that they bought out most of the smaller motels In the area. At first you check in at the main building and it is beautiful. With that I mean the artwork and the décor in fact you feel like you’re in Italy or Greece with the Roman influence. Then they assign you which building you are in and you find out that you’re staying at an offshoot motel. Parking space is very limited so you end up parking in the middle of nowhere far away from your room. And the service here is absolutely horrendous seems like the workers here have no idea of customer service in fact I’m kind of sold that they might be foreign slave labor, not kidding. You can forget about late checkout because checkouts at 10:30 and even on a Sunday they are expecting quite a few people to come in so they will not entertain and even a half an hour extra. So beware. The water park itself is actually pretty nice. It Has a big numbers of nice slides and the water’s warm some hot tub areas but it was very overly crowded. The kids section that’s pretty nice and big the kids did enjoy themselves but be warned that the floor of the water park is very rigid and you will have a lot of scraped knees after they are get out of the water. Bring band aids This motel /​resort is probably one of the cheapest organizations that you could stay at. They limit you on towels and big garbage bags you can forget about dry cleaning sheets or complimentry soap or anything like that that. Make sure that you would expect nothing for paying the amount of money you did. We paid $ 125 a night for us to stay for two days overall I did give you the a 2.5. The only reason I give that it’s because the kids have enjoyed themselves and the rooms did accommodate you, kids and you have plenty of room because they have these really heavy duty bunk beds that helped out but would I return his place probably not in the winter I’ll probably rather spend an extra 50 bucks 200 bucks and stay at the Kalahari which is a lot better service better quality of a organisation bigger pools bigger indoor section and a hunter photo organization to you stay away. Some it all up just have a «lets make the best of it»

We stayed at Mt Olympus Rome resort. It was ok. We were happy with the indoor waterpark and indoor theme park. Our kids are younger so they had a blasts playing at the parks. Our room is what makes us give it a three star rating. The beds were uncomfortable. The springs were broken on one of the beds. There were no movable tables. The only tables in room were connected to the wall so if you wanted to sit and eat at them you are staring at the walk and you wouldn’t be able to sit and play games at comfortably as my family and I like to bring board or card games to play at night when we are done with our activities for the day. It was extremely noisy! I don’t usually complain about noises but I was kept up all night from people running up and down the stairs. We were on the first floor right next to the stairwell. We were also directly across from the ice machine which also was extremely noisy anytime someone would use it. The café downstairs was overpriced for the quality of food. The arcade was fun. Also parking was horrible. They did not have enough parking on their property to accommodate their guests. We spent a lot of time searching for a parking spot even though we were paying to stay there

My family and I came to the Hotel and indoor water park/​thyme park. The hotel was nice. Small TV and no were to set besides the bed. The beds are very cheep hard as a rock. The indoor water park was pretty small. The thyme park was perfect for my 7 year old son who can’t never ride any rides do to being to small those rides was just his size. In the end I would go back there again.

Hard to separate the theme park from the hotel, so I will review the entire experience. We got a deal for the end of January where we got a hotel room and 2 days of admissions to the water park for $ 70ish/​all in. The indoor waterpark has the basics that you need, some slides, a river with inner tubes, a kids play area, and a refreshment area that sells beer. Place was pretty crowded, but the infrastructure itself was adequate. It is obviously a razor /​razorblade business approach based on the all inclusive room and pass price, so the food /​refreshments are rather pricey. The zinger that was a bit annoying was the price for a tiny locker was $ 10 to $ 20 /​day. Since we were staying at one of the off site hotel facilities, we felt obligated on the first day to purchase one for our stuff. Turns out that most folks just bring a bag and find a place to stow their stuff without purchasing a locker, so that is what we did the second day and it worked out fine. As mentioned earlier hotel room was offsite (i.e., a drive away). It was old and there were no services provided at our room’s building (e.g., front desk, room service, etc.), but it got the job done and I wouldn’t have expected much more for the price.
Overall, if you are looking for a cheap place to spend a weekend in the winter, this is not a bad experience.

I just wanted to thank you Mt Olympus for making me feel safe when I visited on two weekend ago. I was woke up at 7 AM to someone stealing the change machine out of your building 18. They got in through the side door that was unlocked because the lock was broken. Then found out you don’t have security cameras. Then to top that off instead of sending security or someone to speak with us, you sent the maintenance man. We didn’t get so much as a sorry. I know your going to delete this because who wants a bad review but hey it not like you guys haven’t already treated me like trash.

Great prices kids had lots of fun. Strongly suggest you to try it out !!!

Just left this «Resort» and wasn’t overall pleased:
I would have given them a 1 star if it wasn’t for the quality of the room. (Hotel Rome)
Pros: Super cheap (about $ 25 a night Tuesday –Thursday), really nice room, overall friendly staff, water was warm
Cons: indoor water park is small (more suited for small children), Indoor theme park was basically a big arcade and almost all attractions cost more money once you get in, most attractions were closed, no in-​house restaurant, we were given a dining discount card, but it was expired. Also they charge a $ 25 per night resort fee even though most of the resort was closed for The winter. (Little ridiculous)
I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a trip in the winter. It’s cheap but still not cheap enough to be worth it. Maybe in the summer would be better (but also more expensive) do your research.

Review of the parks only: They sell tickets dirt cheap sometimes ($ 8 – 15), so watch out for those because it is worth it in my opinion. It’s nice for me because it’s something different then Six Flags in Gurnee, Illinois. You have to pay for parking, if you split it with your group of friends, it shouldn’t be too bad of a cost.
The theme park features mostly wooden roller coasters and a TON of go-​kart tracks. I think I went on at least FIVE go-​kart tracks the last time I went. It’s nice if you have a kid with you, he’ll really enjoy all the different tracks. As far as the roller coasters, Hades is pretty unique, it has an underground track and the highest drop. My second favorite is Zeus.
The water park is pretty sweet too. We spent our second day here and we were mostly in the wave pool (Poseidon’s Rage). If you’re not a good swimmer, don’t go too far in! It can get scary. They have life guards everywhere!
They also have an indoor water park. The lines were pretty short when we went, almost no waiting in any of them. Good portion of the slides might seem like «baby slides», but for the most part, you’ll have a good time here if it’s raining or really cold.
The have an indoor theme park as well, I am not going on any of those rides after someone died on the roller coaster last year. They did close that ride down though… but still, I don’t trust the other rides in there.

Stayed hotel Rome in 2 queen, 2 bunk room. Cost us ~ $ 100 or night during fall. Room was clean and well appointed. Ok Outdoor pools were shut which is a drawback given Indoor waterpark NO WAY large enough to cater for the number of guests both at resort and visitors. Ran select rides in theme park (2 coasters, 2 go karts + other self rides). Lack of decent eateries on site meant we headed out for meals.
But you know all considered I thought was tremendous value given the Accom & Passes included. Ok it’s not Kalahari, great wolf, wilderness standards big then neither is the price tag. Kalahari and great wolf were roughly 3x the price same weekend !
Recommend this for families. Just keep your expectations in line with the price tag!

I stayed here 6 years ago. It was very nice & great. This past weekend I stayed at a connecting hotel where we had to walk through Hotel Rome to get to the waterpark. There was people sitting in front of their door drinking alcohol. Mary Jane reeks in the halls & the carpet is so gross I would never walk on it without shoes. There was these 2 random girls– looked underage sitting in the corner of the hallway charging their phones in the outlet. 3 hours later I passed by and they were still sitting there. I don’t even know if they where guests there. Some kids spilled there whole container of ice on the floor and no one ever cleaned it up. Clearly the hotel staff doesn’t seem to care as they walk by and see what’s going on. The food at the Gladiator grill was disgusting!
Terrible– this place went downhill bad!

Although it’s a prominent attraction in the Dells it is nothing compared to what it used to be (according to my fiancé). This was my first time going to Mount Olympus so I was super excited to go on all of the roller coasters and various rides. Our excitement was quickly deflated upon having to pay $ 20 just to park. We thought we had hit the jackpot by getting $ 8 admissions tickets off-​line, but oh no — they conveniently hook you with those prices so that you have no choice but to buy the $ 20 parking pass if you want to avoid a mental sunken cost conflict.
After this little annoyance, we had to wait for at least 20 minutes to get in through the gates because the staff had no idea what they were doing. Still, we shook it off because there was so much fun to be had… until we saw that one roller coaster, Zeus, was closed! My fiancé was practically in tears because that’s always been his favorite ride. But again, we tried to shake it off so we proceeded to go on other roller coasters and go-​carts, which took about 20 – 30 minutes to get onto. All of the roller coasters were super fun, though, especially given that they are classic wooden rides… which may not necessarily be good for your back. Also, you should make a mental note that if you’re tall then you make feel extremely cramped in those rides… they are definitely made for average height people. Just saying.
There’s only 5 roller coasters which all are very fun, but they don’t last long at all (but aren’t all roller coasters like that?). There’s also several go-​carts for you to choose from. The roller coasters and go-​carts are the only rides you grt an unlimited pass to with that entry ticket so be aware of that. Now if your heart is set on going on those adrenaline rides in the park (i.e. the bungee jump called Hermes) just know those cost additional money, approximately $ 5 – 10. My fiancé and I went on Hermes and although it was pricey, it was well worth it. This was, by far, my favorite thing in the park… it feels like you’re flying!!! And don’t worry, they completely strap you in so that you don’t fall out — I promise!
We also tried the food in the park and it was completely over-​priced for the low quality of food we got. I wouldn’t have gotten any food, except that I was feeling a little sick and dehydrated (oh yes, they have practically no water fountains though out the park). I got a hot dog which came as plain as could possibly be. I know park food isn’t the best, but it by no means should be that bad.
Overall, I was not extremely impressed with Mount Olympus. I had a lot of fun on the rides (especially Hermes and Hades, the roller coaster) and I made the best out of everything, but I was disappointed by how they nickle and dimed me. They already get enough visitors each year to sustain their business so I don’t understand why they feel the need to be such penny pushers.
Based upon the experienced of my fiancé, the quality of this park has definitely decreased and to be honest, I probably wouldn’t waste my money and time on it again.
P. s. don’t think you’re going to be staying at night to ride on the roller coasters in the dark because it won’t happen unless you are staying at the resort. The park closes at 6 pm for anyone who is not staying at the resort.

My family and I spent one night at the «Rome Hotel» at Mt. Olympus in early June 2015. Here’s the thing: I could go into details about what others have already said regarding an old motel feel of the place, the wallpaper-​themed rooms, A/​C not really working, tiny televisions, etc, etc… But that’s not why people stay here. People stay because my $ 70 room (which after taxes and «fees» was well over $ 110) got my entire family into the outdoor theme park when we arrived, let us stay about 4 hours after everyone else left, let my kids swim indoors until they were drained, and gave us a decent room to stay overnight. The value is really not bad when you look at it like that.
But here are a few pointers and a suggestion for the management (just in case they are reading):
– The lodging area is run like an amusement park. What I mean by this is that they are not appearing to proactively clean or fix things. Paint is peeling, hallway carpet is just gross, dust is on everything above eye level, etc. They seem to wait until it breaks, and then put a band-​aid on it. In an amusement park, this works; in a hotel, this makes it a motel.
– The staff are basically all foreign work/​study people. While generally nice, they all gave me that «I do not understand a word you are saying» look before trying to help. None had any knowledge of park workings (i.e, which rides are open for hotel guests after 5pm?) and every question I asked had to be run by another person. Again, more like an amusement park.
– When they say the park stays open 4 hours later for hotel guests, this really means the indoor water park, about 2 rollercoaster rides and a few kiddie rides. Want to know which ones? Good luck. Apparently it is some kind of mystery that only «supervisors» know until a few hours prior.
– I didn’t see the other «villages,» but after reading other reviews, we paid the extra $ 28 to upgrade to the Rome Hotel on property. Fairly sure this was worth it.
– Food is insanely priced in the park. Don’t pay $ 15-​$ 20 for a mediocre burger or slice of pizza; this just tells them that it’s okay to keep charging this outrageous rate. Instead, drive a couple blocks off property and try Hot Dog Avenue (see my other review of this one). Very reasonable prices and awesome food. This, or Jimmy Johns delivers. Or, even better, get the Paul Bunyan doughnuts.
– My room was pretty rundown, but generally clean. No mold or anything too scary. The floors are some kind of laminate, really giving the impression of a lowest bidder for flooring choice. If you are a Marriot, Hilton or Holiday Inn kind of person, brace yourself for this stay.
– The tiny elevator was interesting. We are talking about a capacity of about 2 people with luggage. Again, just odd.
– Many of the thrill rides costs about $ 10-​$ 20 extra. This is not unique to Mt. Olympus, but just gets under my skin. So here’s my suggestion: For the final 4 hours, why not give hotel guests an opportunity to ride these free? This would clearly drive an incentive to stay at the hotel. Just a thought.
Would I stay again? Probably not. But we were not disappointed, either.
