Smitten

Simply put, Smitten and its sister store Rock Paper Scissors are my favorite places to shop in the entire state of Maine. I make a point of stopping here any time I’m headed north to visit friends and am ALWAYS glad I have. Erica Soule, who owns both of these stores, has a remarkable eye for both design and color, and her sister, who is usually behind Smitten’s register, is always a pleasure to talk to. In Smitten, I love seeing the interesting ways that Erica pairs unique pieces with one another — the results are always the perfect, if unexpected, complement. If you’re drawn to a modern, clean aesthetic, but you want your home to reflect a friendly spirit and/​or a homemade feel, Smitten is the right store for you. Smitten is a truly lovely shop full of beautiful pieces. It’s not only home décor but they have boutique jewelry that you can’t find anywhere else. The store owner’s sister was working when we wentand she was very nice and helpful. I loved this place so much that I stopped by again a couple of days later (on my drive back down the coast) but to my disappointment the store was closed.
We only went in here because Red’s Eats wasn’t open but I’m glad I did. I will definitely be going back if I’m in Wiscasset again.
