In the Clover

This store is SO AMAZING!!! Lovely, knowledgeable staff, great selection of high end women’s fashions with brands like Johnny Was, kleen, neesh, tulip, and more. Very well made with a flattering, feminine drape as well as fragrances that you won’t find anywhere else. It is a bit pricey but the dreamy clothes are well worth every penny!
They are in stark contrast to their competition across the street by the name of Debra Elizabeth’s. They removed themselves from Unilocal,likely because of many bad reviews. Here was my review of THEM:
This adorable shop is located on the street across from Red’s in Wiscasset. They carry lovely clothing in cotton and linen as well as jewelry, shoes, hats, scarves and home goods. The brands are very high end and well made.
HOWEVER…the lady working the counter this afternoon made me never want to step foot in the place again. First, every minute she annoyingly asked us if we needed assistance. To which we politely replied, «Thank you, no.» We looked at scarves all over the store but the one that fit my mom’s coloring the best was a lovely gauzy lavender one that happened to be on the sales rack. It was perfect! We proceeded to the counter where the sales lady chatted in a friendly way. But here is where I became very I satisfied. She refused to ring the product up using a credit card because it came to an amount under 20 $. THIS IS ILLEGAL. NEXT, when my mother, who is here on vacation tried to pay with a hundred dollar bill, the woman refused to accept it because SHE COULDN’T MAKE CHANGE. SO, to review– she illegally refused to accept the credit card and then refused the cash because, on a Monday afternoon, couldn’t make change. In the end, my dad came to the rescue with almost exact change. We left with the scarf. On the way home, while looking over the receipt, we realized that the woman still managed to OVERCHARGE us! The item was 50% off. Instead of ringing it up at the 28 $ price, she rang it up as 30 $ and gave her half of that. NEVER NEVER GO THERE. The 2 stars I gave them was only for the lovely clothes. Take your money across the street and go to «In the Clover» instead where there as even better selection, they accept fair payment, and don’t overcharge you!
