Acadia Security was founded by Josh Roberts of Winterport, Me. After working for two of the largest companies in the country for two years he decided there had to be a way to offer affordable home alarm systems and commercial alarm and surveillance systems, while still offering that local mom and pop feeling where people still remember your name and not just treat people like an acct number. Started in the security industry in the summer of 1997, right out of college. As I tried to figure out where to go in life, I happened to stumble across an old man named Bob who owned a small local security company in Ok. After learning a lot from this very wise and generous man and grasping his love for the business, I decided to go my own way and go to work for one of the 3 letter named big boys in the industry. Shortly after working there I decided that as an employee of almost 2 years, that if management didn’t know our names and we were put on hold with customer service at corporate for an average of 45 mins just to activate a new customers account. What in the world could my new customers be going thru if they needed to talk to someone at this very large inpersonable company. That is when i decided that I loved visiting and protecting my neighbors with peace of mind, but I hated representing a comp that was terrible in cust service… Now 14 years later here we are.
