History

Established in 1983.

Peterbrooke Chocolatier was founded by Phyllis Geiger in Jacksonville, Florida in 1983. Phyllis named the business after her two children, Peter and Brooke. Over the years, Peterbrooke Chocolatier has achieved tremendous popularity by making and serving the best chocolate, using only the highest standards for quality and freshness.

Peterbrooke Chocolatier of Winter Park was opened in 2001. It was a «corporate» location until 2009 when Phyllis retired and sold the shop to chocolate enthusiasts Jami and Kevin Wray. Jami and Kevin have turned the shop into «your neighborhood chocolatier» and have immersed themselves into the Winter Park community. You’ll find Peterbrooke Chocolate in many local Park Avenue restaurants and shops. They believe in partnering with local businesses, supporting local charities, and providing the best guest service with the best chocolate you’ll ever taste!

Chocolate lover heaven! We walked in for the gelato but ended up looking around the entire store at all that they have to offer. From chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, strawberries, potato chips, even bacon… BACON! The gelato was delicious too, much better than the ones served around the corner and Romes. I also discovered that they have classes on how to make some of the delicacies! I’ll definitely be a regular here to fulfill my guilty pleasures!

The hot chocolate is practically a drink made by the gods of cocoa themselves. PERFECT. I am a huge hot chocolate enthusiast and came here specially to try out what they had to offer, and I was surely pleased.
The have not tried anything else from the store, but the prices seem reasonable and the store has a wonderful aroma of chocolate all over.

I came here for a special event hosted by a local food blogger. It was a Galentines event for a girls night out chocolate and bubbles class. They kept the group small and we were invited back into their kitchen. Available on the table were two bowls of chocolate drizzled popcorn (milk and dark) for snacking. We were poured a glass of champagne and the owner and blogger both gave us a little back story for the night. Lisa was amazing. Whipped up for us were chile truffles, sirracha, black cherry balsamic truffles, Mu truffles (which is this amazing chocolate cappuccino liquor, I left with a bottle it was Sooo yummy) and regular milk chocolate truffles. We were able to dip these ourselves into the milk or dark chocolate and decorate and eat to our hearts desire! Finger licking encouraged! (Of course with glove changing and hand sanitation after!) I haven’t had so much fun in a long time. The thing is with peterbrooke their chocolate is so pure and delicious you can only handle so much! Four truffles in I couldn’t sample another piece! Luckily, we were able to box 8 of the truffles we decorated and dipped and they helped us make them look good to take home of give away for Valentine’s Day! Places them in a bag with tissue paper as well. I learned a lot that day about wine, champagne and chocolate and can’t wait to go back again! Oh and the best part peterbrooke can specialty make chocolate for you! Have a craving for something not in the store call them up and they’ll try to make it happen (that’s how the sirracha truffle happened)

Perfect place for chocolate lovers all around!!! Chocolate covered chips, bacon, popcorn, Twinkies, and other sweet savoy treats all within this wonderful shop!
Walking inside you smell the sweet taste of chocolate. Try some free chocolate covered popcorn because it is delicious. I tried the chocolate covered: bacon, chips, chili pistachios, and Twinkie from my previous visits. I would try these products at least once. The chili pistachios was my favorite.
They also offer gift baskets, gelato, special chocolate molded objects, and other small treats. Perfect place for Valentine’s Day, birthday presents, something romantic, or a self-​spurge treat.

All of the stars and pictures on Unilocal drew me in. After being in my bookmarks for 6 months we finally made it there the first Saturday of January 2016. Imagine my surprise when absolutely none of the amazing treats featured on this page were available. When I asked the young man behind the counter about each item he just said «nope», and gave me a blank stare.
Our cones were ok, rocky road-​decent, and I’m hoping my $ 14 candy apple is amazing.

I have been coming here for about 4 years now and I always forget to let the world know how good the chocolate treats are here. Probably because I have been trying to keep myself in check because when it comes to chocolate, I am weak… When it comes to the chocolate here… I have a hard time controlling my urges.
I have tried a number of their offerings such as the chocolate covered espresso beans, their various truffles, the chocolate covered bacon and my personal favorite is the red chili pistachio bars. I have to force myself to pass them up when I drop by to say hello to the owners, Kevin and his wife Jamie. They are two of the nicest people I have met in the Orlando area and a while back Kevin did me a HUGE favor. He came up with two special truffles just for my daughter and I have never forgotten that. That reminds me… The holidays are coming up and I will have to get her a stocking stuffer of truffles…
They also offer some varieties of gelato and it is all quite good but unfortunately it is not made by Peterbrooke. It is however made locally by Stefanos, uses the chocolate Peterbrooke makes and is very good. There is a wall of all kinds of interesting things made with chocolate. Do yourself a favor and stop on by for a chocolate fix and you will not be sorry…
I know I usually post photos but the store is usually busy so it is hard to take pictures without getting the customers in the photos. I will however make it a point to go back there this week and take some pictures of the store for everybody to see.

Best chocolate I ever had, they’ve got me addicted to it!
I have cravings if I don’t have it around, so I always purchase the one pound milk chocolate bars to have plenty and to make sure I’m covered for the next weeks!
It’s totally worth a drive to Winter Park!

Peterbrooke is heaven. So many options. EVERYTHING you could imagine, dipped in delicious chocolate. My favorite to date is still the chocolate covered Oreos. The free sample of chocolate covered popcorn gets me every time.
I will say that one thing there disappointed me — the fudge. I got a chunk of the chocolate/​walnut and found it dry and with an odd taste. Maybe it’d been sitting in the case awhile, because everyone neglected it for the other amazing creations they have?

One word — gelato.
I am a chocolate lover, and every time I go in here, I salivate over all of the chocolate options. However, when it’s time for me to walk out with my treat, it never fails that I choose a flavor of gelato. If you’re not sure what flavor to get, they will let you sample them! I also like to get the vanilla gelato for my little fur baby. He loves it too. :)

As you enter into this shop, all you can smell is sugary goodness! I have stopped by twice and the gelato is mind blowing. I absolutely loved the dark chocolate gelato. It was creamy and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The prices aren’t too expensive since gelato tends to be pricier than ice cream anyways.
The customer service is great! Can’t wait to come back here. :)

This place is definitely a chocolate lovers dream! Recently got to try a cookie shot & I have no regrets! Totally worth the extra calories, if you ask me! However, I didn’t love the vanilla milk it was served with, but I’m sure it’s one of those things some will like & others won’t! I’ll probably try the chocolate milk next time I stop in! can’t wait to go back for another!

Dear Peterbrooke,
I am going to have to join a gym if you do not stop it! Your delicious chocolatey goodness is going straight to my hips. And ass. And thighs. I keep running and working out, but then I pass by your glorious little shop and have to stop in. And have to buy a bag of the chocolate popcorn (what? I don’t even like popcorn). Oh and why not get a couple chocolate covered Oreos, since they are so conveniently placed next to the popcorn. What? You have cookie shots? Sure, why not. I mean, milk is good for your bones, right?
This madness must stop! But really, keep up the good work. Your shop always smells amazing and I love to watch the kitchen crew dip stuff in the chocolate. Your employees are always helpful and friendly.
Luckily you are located on Park Ave, which is a parking nightmare so I justify coming in because I have usually walked a few blocks, just burning enough calories for another bag of popcorn. Or some gelato. And it’s hot out now, so the gelato is good for cooling off. You guys really think of everything.

Always a good time when we go here! While browsing the delicious selection of chocolates, be sure to grab your free sample of chocolate covered popcorn. My favorite go to is the chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate dipped oreos. I can say say without a doubt that anything you choose to try here will be amazing and you won’t be disappointed. Don’t forget to check out their gelato too!

One of my favorite places to get chocolate!!! I consider myself somewhat of a chocolate snob and this place passes the test :)
My favorite is chocolate covered Oreos, chocolate marshmallows and the chocolate covered popcorn (of course!!)
It’s soooo good.
My one gripe? That they use Pringles for their chocolate covered chips. Gross. Pringles aren’t even made with potatoes and taste awful. You can do better than that, peterbrooke.

For all of my chocolate lovers, stop what you’re doing right now and head to this place. This cute little spot is located in Winter Park on Park Ave. They offer everything chocolate… no literally everything. From large chocolate bars to truffles to chocolate covered popcorn, this place is definitely a must for all of my chocolate addicts out there.
Upon entering we pleasantly greeted by the staff and informed that there were samples of chocolate covered popcorn available. They also sell gelato which is so yummy. We tried a few flavors, unfortunately the names escape me; however, I do remember that everything I tried tasted incredibly yummy. There’s definitely something for everyone!

Food wise this place has chocolate so everything is good. What makes this place stand out is their friendly staff and owners.
I came in one evening with friends and the staff were super helpful, even allowing my friends to make their own chocolate items. They spent a long time chatting with us and answering our questions. If you are in winter park and need chocolate then look no further than here.

With as much chocolate as I’ve enjoyed since discovering Peterbrooke, I cannot believe that I haven’t written them a review! First and foremost, Kevin and Jami are fantastically thoughtful and kind people. I love meeting business owners who genuinely care about their customer base, provide a substantial product line, and truly love what they do. Their store front is tidy and welcoming, making everyone revisit that Kid in a Candy Shop feeling.
I visited on a whim for my 35th birthday because I can’t ever seem to have enough Peterbrooke Chocolate in my life. (It’s a tragedy, really). On previous visits to PCWP, I has seen groups in the kitchen pouring chocolate over all sorts of things and having a fantastic time. Secretly, I wanted to be in the kitchen and not the kid with her nose pressed to the glass. My friend personally introduced me to both Jami and Kevin, and at the mention of being «The Birthday Girl,» I was not only offered a treat, but I was permitted to step into the kitchen and make it myself! It was so much fun talking with Jami and her Crew of Chocolatiers! We had a ooey-​gooey crash course in making Broissants! As there were three of us, we got to each make one of the three signature combinations. Paper hats are not optional!
With their wide variety of chocolates (and chocolate covered things), PCWP is the place to go for treats for the special folk in your life. My hands down favorite item is the chocolate covered popcorn, with that dark chocolate sea salt caramel and the chocolate-​covered bacon hot on it’s heels. Drop by and say hi to the gang at PCWP, and you never know what culinary adventure you may embark upon!

Peterbrooke has my heart. There. I said it.
I had one really great experience with them a few years ago when I saw them post a picture of an incredible molded chocolate basketball on Facebook. This was in the height of Dwight-​mania and I was throwing an office party with a basketball theme so I reached out to order one. They were SOOO nice and accommodating and the final product was the talk of the party. Best of all– it tasted great!
I’ve also been in to grab a few truffles and goodies and have always left happy (and with less dough in my pockets!)
