Welcome to Ravens Nest in Winter Harbor. Our spectacular water view only enhances the cuisine of our Chef, Richard Hanson, formerly of Cleonice. He combines the freshest local ingredients, inspiration from his Italian roots, and handmade pasta from owner Roxanne Quimby to create a spectacular fine dining restaurant. Wood Fired Pizza is available on Thursday — Sunday nights and delicious pastries and sour dough boules and baguettes are available all day. We are open daily! Join us for a light breakfast on the weekdays in our café, Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30−3, Lunch 12 – 3 Monday — Friday. Full dinner starts at 5:30 Seven Nights a week. Wood-​Fired pizzas Thursday — Sunday evenings.

Cary Hanson, along with her Husband Richard, owned and operated the beloved Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro in Ellsworth Maine for 12 years. They are both excited to have the opportunity to create a new dining experience on the gorgeous Schoodic Peninsula.

Had lunch (they call it brunch on Sunday) there today and it was fantastic! The quality of the food and service could not have been better! We shared the following: deviled eggs as an appetizer (three half eggs for $ 3.50), assorted olives ($ 5), coffee roasted beet salad ($ 7.50) and smoked turkey sandwich with potato salad ($ 12). Everything was perfect! The beet salad was particularly good.

Great, great new restaurant in Winter Harbor! My husband and I stumbled upon Raven’s Nest and were dubious because it appeared to be in a visitor center. But we were so glad we stayed! The margarita pizza was the best I have ever had (excellent wood-​fired crust), the burrata caprese was incredible, and the beet salad was excellent (best ever!) Wait staff was very helpful and friendly. We are trying to figure out when we can get back!

Based on our lunch today, this new place in Winter Harbor is great! I had a fish chowder and a bluefish special. The chowder was really hearty (including bluefish) and very flavorful… relatively thin stock in the true New England tradition. Easily the best I’ve had in quite a while. The bluefish special had a simple, flavorful breading… otherwise fresh and succulent (is that a phrase you can use w/​a stronger fish?). Really outstanding! My companion had a pulled pork sandwich… excellent! Not elegant inside but has a nice seaside feel to it! The chef is from Cleonice and hasn’t lost his touch. bag rest experience!

We’ve been here several times this summer and always enjoyed our selections. Staffing is sometimes a problem. It seems they can get caught off-​guard (understaffed) when they receive a lot of walk-​ins (non-​reserved). A really nice PLUS is their wood-​burning pizza oven + the guy/​s that tend it. They offered one size (10″), made a tremendous crust (the best I’ve eaten in Maine) and offered several toppings each night (Thur-​Sun) on an eat-​in or take-​out basis. That is, they did until last weekend when the take-​out option ended and the size was reduced to a 7″ model. Even though pizza has a tremendous profit margin, I’m guessing (maybe understandably) they’d rather sell their $ 25-​ish entrees and felt the need to limit their pizza production in order to accomplish that. Doesn’t mean I like the idea – being steered to a more expensive selection. I hope they reconsider their decision – the sooner the better.
