Thanks, Unilocal! Once again Unilocal has allowed me to come across a place that I’m certain I never would’ve visited or even heard of. This is a somewhat small French bakery that is definitely hidden from major traffic which is probably why I haven’t seen them prior to this past weekend. Once you get inside and manage to stop sniffing the air to get more of that great freshly-baked aroma, you’ll be impressed; this place has it all! It’d be pointless to start listing their all of their treats because I really saw a bit of everything, but I’ll try to break it down to breads, pastries and sandwiches. After we ordered(only) 3 pastries we waited for our lattes and already began planning our next visit. While the lattes were a big disappointment(room temperature and not great tasting), the pastries more than made up for it. I won’t try to get too technical, they were delicious! They were buttery, flaky and had great bite to them. I cannot wait to go back and try every single one of their offerings.

This place is awesome! Don’t try the cronut though, that are way too good! The pastries are amazing! They have every kind of bread you could want. They even make delicious chicken potpie!

Friendly staff! As soon as I walked in was greeted: «Bonjour» Sandwiches are small sized. Banana Bread Loaf was good looking but super-dry. The fruit tarts were all lovely! This location is right across West Orange Mid Tech, right off of Story Rd.

By far, my favorite bakery ever ever ever ever. The pastries are all incredibly well-made, and the lunch options are affordable, even though they aren’t very big. Everything is delicious.

Oh wow… what a wonderful little treasure. My mother in law brought us here while running errands this morning. I couldn’t believe my eyes… such delicate, sweet looking morels. So hard to decide. Should I pick the fruit and cheese filled danish, the french chocolate filled croissant, the cronought, the apple filled pastry, the bear claws, the almond croissant, the muffins, the cinnamon swirls, the raisin rolls… oh my goodness, someone help meeeee!!! I opted for the chocolate croissant and oh wow, what a yummy treat it was. The dough was soft and sweet, the chocolate was perfection. My daughter got the chocolate muffin(with cream cheese filling) and let me have a bite(after I reminded her of how I was a super model before she ruined my body… mind you, she wasn’t around so she doesn’t know that is a lie). The muffin was super chocolatey. Yum. I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other amazing looking creations. =)

Douce France bakery, a hidden treasure located in Story Rd, across from Westisde Tech. The building itself looks a big warehouse, front entrance is on the front end of the building under the«Douce France Bakery» sign. Now to the good stuff, well, they used to have a small fridge section filled with a selection of delicious fruit tartes, Mille feuille which know best as «the Napoleon», chocolate and custard filled eclairs and some really tasty Bouche de Noël around Christmas time, sad to say that all that is gone. The selection available now consists or other gooooood stuff, chocolate croissants, almond croissants, chneks«raisin pastry», apple turnovers and guava twists are my favorite. They also have a variety of muffins, macaroons, custard pastries, chocolate twists, croons — I think that’s how it’s spelled — it’s pretty much a doughnut looking thing made out of croissant dough, deep fried and dipped in sugar, this little thing is DELICIOUS but I try not to fall in love with it. Customer service is great and staff, Kirk, is very friendly.

The staff is always friendly and everything we’ve purchased has been delicious. Their selection of pastries is small, but varied. The«Yesterday’s Treasures» section never disappoints. You can save a couple bucks and still get a quality product. I’ve been here four or five times now, and I’ll definitely be back.

When you walk in, the smell of fresh baked goods hits you, your hooked. Never tried a Cronut before, now I see what all the fuss is about(friendly tip, get there early cause they go fast). And their cheese danish are excellent too(cream cheese and guava). Try it once and you’ll be back

Came here in search of the cronut, after a coworker had brought some into work! Sadly, I go there towards closing time so there was only ONE mini-cronut left. Obviously, I snatched that baby up but a friendly tip to visit earlier in the day, especially if you are in search of the cronut! They did have some other pastries available, but the display case was not full to the brim at the hour I visited. Douce France is actually a commercial bakery, baking breads and pastries for outlets in local hotels and businesses. They offer a small storefront for the public with pastries and breads, as well as sandwiches, salads and other café items. They also have an area with«yesterday’s treasures». Day old breads were half off and a box of three to four pastries was $ 3.75, The fresh goods were also competitively priced. The mini-cronut and a loaf of day old bread cost me only $ 2.41! I would return but would visit earlier in the day so I have a better pick of goods! I am definitely a cronut devotee at this point and am sure I’ll need my «fix» in the near future.

We stopped in to see if this place was any good. The espresso is Nespresso, they let us use baguette instead of bagel on our breakfast sandwich which was a winning combination. It’s not baguette from Paris, but you’re not finding that in Orlando either way. It is one of the best I’ve tried in Orlando.

Cute place but not worth going out of your way for. Everything they sell is junk — full of additives, preservatives and trams fats. Bread should only have a few ingredients — flour, salt, yeast, oil, etc. Their breads had at least twenty ingredients with words so long I couldn’t even read them with the tiny print! I asked about this and they said they have it put in all the bad chemicals to make their clients(hotels) happy. That’s fine but I’m not going out of my way to buy junk I can get at publix! They told me the bread in the case was homemade and didn’t have the chemicals. I got a could loaves of French bread. They lied! It was the same bread! It didn’t get hard as it should have the second or third day(I wanted it to for a recipe) and it tasted awful like cheap chemical bread. Beware! The bread and pastries in the case are not labeled. For pastries I will stick with the French café off 535 all made with real food, like butter, cream, salt, flour, chocolate, … For bread, I’m still looking! Any ideas?

La Douce France sits in an unlikely and out of the way location, basically a light industrial area, though not in a dangerous one as someone implied. It occupies a large building and most of its business is wholesale, including allegedly to Disney World. There is a retail shop up front, however, which is a worthy destination for the denizens of western Orange County. Others may have had a less than ideal experience in that regard, but I received prompt, smiling service. My only complaint was the music. It was French, all right, but French hip hop. Awful is awful in any language! If you’re going to play French music, it might as well be that bittersweet-sounding stuff with accordions, the type once heard in the stereotypical smoky Parisian café. If not that, please go with classical. On to the important stuff: the dessert-type pastries are quite good; I especially liked the fruit tart. The breakfast-type stuff, which the French generously call«viennoisserie» after the capital of Austria, is also outstanding and quite fresh. My only wish would be for more chocolate in the pain au chocolat. Prices are nice, too.

This place is worth checking out. The bakery is off the beaten path and mainly established as a wholesale business although they do have a retail space with some seating. DOTRY: The breads, pastries, food in the hot box(chicken alfredo, hotdog wrapped in a croissant, different pizzas) DON’T BOTHERWITH: Lunch sandwiches(I had the chicken chipotle and a coworker had the turkey with brie and apple… best part of both sandwiches was the bread) FUNFACT: They have a huge rack of day old bread that is half off the marked price(dirt cheap and still great)

Douce France Bakery is a wholesale bakery that discovered that it could also sustain a retail storefront. Occupying an 11,000 square foot state of the art bakery building in an industrial area of Winter Garden, it would be an extreme understatement to suggest that Douce France Bakery is located in an out of the way place. If you are not looking for it, chances are you won’t find it unless you like to hang out in areas better suited for Gangland killings(or in my case, if you have a basketball game to attend down the road). The building and retail area at Douce France Bakery are beautiful. Upon entering the facility, the pastry displays and breads are immediately presented mere feet from the front door. Danish pastries, croissants and a variety of other sugary and buttery treats are delightful temptations and looked as good, and as tempting as I have seen. I was not there for pastries today, however, as a cup of coffee was my only objective. Of course, I am weak-willed when it comes to food so I did have to sample the breads, too! The coffee was rich, dark and flavorful. It was a pleasant surprise because I had anticipated that on a Saturday morning the coffee would have been sitting in an urn for quite a while. Fortunately, as I quickly learned, Douce France Bakery does a good business even on a Saturday morning and I very much doubt that the coffee ever has time to get old. Pleased with my coffee, I ordered a few white and wheat rolls(25 cents each) and a few bread sticks(15 cents each). I was with my son who wanted to try the red potato soup and, although it was not yet 10am, I ordered it for him, pleased that he was not trying to get a dessert pastry at such an early hour. I’ll start with the good. My son loved his soup. It was thick, creamy and cheesy. It would have been too rich for my taste but he ate it very quickly and longed for more. I was happy to note large pieces of carrot and, I think, broccoli, mixed into the cheese and potato blend as well. Unfortunately, the breads did not live up to expectation and, at a bakery, the breads need to be the measure of the establishment. In this case, the breads just did not measure up. Both the wheat rolls and the white bread sticks were flavorless. They looked great but they did not deliver on taste or texture. The rolls in particular had too much air and not enough grain. My son enjoyed his bread sticks with his soup but I did not feel that they could stand alone as breads worth buying. If I am in the area again, I will likely stop and give Douce France Bakery another try, but I cannot recommend that anyone make this a destination.
