YMCA of Greater Winston-Salem

I have been attending this gym for a little over a year now. The main attraction is that it is a block away from my office. When it comes to downtown gyms, the YMCA may be a bit «meat and potatoes», but that is just why I like it. One could join Rush on 4^th street; however, doing so will lock you into unwanted contracts, high fees, crowds, and the general annoyance that comes with their «flashiness». I want basics, and that is just what the Y delivers.
The gym is located on the third basement level of the Wachovia Center. There is a fair sized locker room with shower facility. 5 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, several stationary bicycles, 2 stairmasters, your standard nautilus machines, as well as free weights. They offer group classes mainly during the day and personal training. The staff is very friendly, as well.
