Had a great stay at this downtown hotel. Walking distance to food, drinks, even the minor league ballpark. Great breakfast.

All the same problems as many other reviews. The toilet sprays back at you when you flush. That’s just GROSS. Happened in both my room & the bathroom off the lobby. Also tends to take 2 flushes because this bizarre plumbing. No hot water in the shower 3 days now — after it was «fixed». Very poor water pressure if you shower in the morning. I’m leaving and moving to another hotel. These people are very, very nice but, these are longstanding complaints on review sites & really… just gross. Do Not Stay Here. Having said that, I don’t know what they do but, these are by far the best scrambled eggs I have ever had. They are truly unbelievable.

Stayed here for a case competition in Winston Salem back in March.
First off, there is plenty of parking and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast is served every morning — it’s not good and the selection isn’t a great, but it’s something. I think there were eggs, juice, coffee, fruits, and some sort of meat (sausage?) and bread.
The rooms were pretty big — I had a king room and it was spacious. Only problem is the in-room fridge hummed so loudly I had to unplug it! There’s a weird counter/sink area right next to the bed and the layout is a tad weird.
No problems with the room, shower, cleanliness, etc. This place just needs to be updated as it’s a bit old and run down… However, considering where it’s located I guess it should be pretty ok?

A true hidden gem, hidden in a corner of a hotel just off Business 40 in Winston Salem. I mean obscure because you can’t even pull up Bayberry Bistro on Unilocal.I know what you’re thinking, eating in a hotel is a blandness of overpriced disaster! Not here! I’ve been coming to this little bistro for their M-F lunch buffet and Sunday Brunch buffet for a couple of years. It’s such a bargain of deliciousness! The brunch usually always consist of excellent fried chicken, pork, and today tilapia. Homemade mac n cheese, candied carrots, broccoli, veg soup, and a small salad bar. There’s a carving station that’s usually a roast beef or a smoked ham. You can get large 3 egg omelette evade to order, and a made to order Belgian waffle. The desserts are always fabulous such as; chocolate cake, banana cream pie, carrot cake, cherry pie, and a hot blueberry cobbler! It’s truly a great brunch buffet for $ 13! The downside is the wait staff. Extremely slow and not able to predict things to stay one step ahead of your needs. They also do absolutely no advertising which leads to there being virtually a empty restaurant each time. I’m sure they have their days when the hotel is full, but I want this place to stay around selfishly! Looking for a nice and quiet Sunday brunch? Find this tucked away little gem, cause no one else has!

This is one of those tomes I wish I could give a half star as I believe this hotel as it stands today is 2.5 stars.
This is a good place to stay when you are visiting the medical center or want to walk to downtown. It is kinda bare bones and getting a little «long in the tooth» as they say but it was clean and moderately comfortable. The price was great for the location but the free breakfast buffet in the morning doesn’t compete with the Hilton’s and Marriott’s of the world. Just eggs, one protein (bacon/sausage) and lots of carbs…

This review for for brunch at The Bayberry Bistro.
NOTE IF YOU ARE GOING FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH CALL FOR A RESERVATION– even though it was just my husband and I we called ahead– so glad we did or we would have been waiting. Also if you get there right when brunch begins at 11 that really seemed to be the best time– sadly you can’t get a Bloody Mary or Mimosa till noon– what’s with that NC anyway???
Located just off the lobby, this 82 seat restaurant is open daily.
We had a Living Social deal for Sunday brunch. You have a waitress to take your drink orders and she also takes your omelet or waffle orders if you’d like either. Note: omelets are HUGE! There was a very extensive lunch buffet including: soup & salads, entrees & accompaniments, fruit & desserts. The only downside is that when we were there NO ONE was manning the carving station :(The roast beef looked awesome but I never did get to try any because there was no «meat man». *Sigh* what a tease!
Cost was about $ 13 a person.

This is a good place to stay when you are visiting the medical center 2 miles away. Plain, clean, comfortable. The price is great (subsidized by the medical center) and they have a better than normal breakfast (free) buffet in the morning.
We had a nice couple of drinks at the bar with a lovely young lady who thou by herself at the bar; gave everyone excellent service. And she knew how to make a good g and t.

I stay here almost ever week as I am consulting on a project nearby. Not a 5 star but the staff treat you like one. The rooms are small & cozy. Great place to stay if you are looking to save some $$$!
