I have been here a few times and I have really enjoyed it. I will say that the first time I showed up all of their doors were locked, yet it said they were open. I was very confused and thought maybe they closed permanently. I called and there was no answer. Very strange! I drove by a few days later and saw all their lights on and decided to try again. They were in fact open! I’ve gotten the make your own bento box every time I’ve been there. I’ve had the pad Thai, sesame chicken, nigiri, bagel roll, crab rangoons, egg roll, and fried rice. Overall, I have been very impressed with everything except the fried rice(quite dry every time I have been). Their service has been very friendly, it’s a quiet restaurant, and their food has been great(the sushi has been very fresh). I would not consider it incredibly authentic Thai food, it’s Americanized, but it is still delicious and very well prepared. I have been very happy with their quick and friendly service. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a good Thai food and sushi combo!

I always get the sushi, pad Thai, or red curry here & it’s amazing! The whole staff is really sweet. I’ve been going here for years… It’s clean & cozy inside too!

5th visit today. Have had sushi, and Thai food. I always order #3 spicy on the Thai. Always excellent, and fast service.

Decent but better sushi can be found within a very short drive. Building seems quite given up on and service was slow even for sushi. Doubt I’ll return.

I love the food here. The service is great. The staff is happy. The ambience is very relaxed. The building is a nice building, in a great location, but interior could use sprucing up. I’ve eaten here many times, and always leave full and satisfied. You get a lot of bang for your bucks here.

I was well greeted, but it all went down hill after that. Our waiter have repeated our sushi order correctly but we was given the wrong kind of sushi. We had flounder teriyaki and habachi scallops, our main dish were not warm at all. Flounder was dry and wasn’t battered right, I can taste the griddy texture from the flour. Scallops was overcooked. Although they charged us for dinner at a total of $ 50, I could have went to a steak house instead. My husband was disappointed, we wished we had the same service we did during our Valentine’s Day dinner.

Blah! The service was blah. I’m not even sure who my waiter was. One person gave us our drinks, a different person took our order and a third person served us our food. The food… blah! I usually love bento boxes because they’re such a good deal. I ordered the ginger chicken, with the Salem roll, a spring roll which came with white rice. It was just so blah the chicken didn’t have much of a ginger taste & I am a serious ginger fan. Now that Salem roll ugh I should have read that part that said tempura fried. A sushi roll dipped in tempura and fried… very disappointing. I took a bite of the spring roll & left it. At $ 13.95 it was totally not worth it. My son ordered a California roll & a bagel road roll. They looked alright, I tried the bagel roll nothing to brag about. The only thing I did like was my miso soup. Like I said the whole experience was blah. I will not be returning.

Remy roll is awesome! I’m not the most adventurous Asian food eater but this place does me right every time. I do recommend for the more inexperienced foody, have a good friend with you to guide you and enjoy your meal.

I’ve been to Sushi Thai two times now – most recently tonight. Both times I’ve been very happy with the food and the overall experience. It’s a cute spot, usually low-lit, with quick service and friendly wait staff. I ordered sushi this visit. I posted a picture. A friend and I ordered different rolls and shared. The Boston Roll and the Snow White Crunch. They were both delicious! I’ve found this place to be nearly empty every time I go. Given, we did visit around 5:30pm which may be a little early for any dinner crowd, but I’m still shocked. Winston-Salem doesn’t offer a multitude of options for sushi and this is a great local spot for sushi. It’s also reasonably priced. If you’re in the mood for the yumminess that is sushi, try this place!!!

This was a pleasant surprise. My fiancé and I were headed to a different Thai place when we took a wrong turn and came across this place. We eat Thai almost every weekend and we reluctantly went here instead of turning around. We had the Tom Yum soup and it was very satisfying. The sour aspect came through a little more than most we have, but we both really enjoyed it. Our entrees came out very quickly. Both of us agreed these are the best Thai dishes we have had out of the 4 other Thai places we’ve eaten in the area. They were also spiciest Thai dishes we’ve had in a while. We will be back.

Very disappointed offering. They are actual menu did not match their online menu. They did not have variety or the bento boxes. I got Thai massaman curry and it was the worst I have ever had. Almost tasteless, too runny, and poor quality ingredients inside. No vegetables!

Absolute worst Phad Thai I’ve ever had. I can’t believe this place has stayed open for as long as it has. Even for Winston-Salem, this is beyond embarrassing. I just wasted $ 20 on a meal that was inedible. This place is a joke.

This place is pretty average, but hey for Winston-Salem standards, probably 3.5−4 stars. The price are not too bad, you can get some pretty cheap sushi rolls. I order pad thai and it is pretty darn good, the serving is also quite big. You see a full sushi bar inside this place, the sushi chefs seem average experienced. The restaurant is OK clean, not dirty not sparkling clean. Usually you shouldnt have a problem getting a table, it isnt empty but not so crowded that all tables are filled. The servers are slightly above average. Overall, I’d say this is not the most authentic Japanese/Thai restaurant around, if you want authentic Japanese food go to Mizu, if you want authentic Thai food, go to Thai Swatdee on Healy Drive.

Update: Sushi Thai has strayed from being an authentic Thai restaurant and now offers an «Asian Fusion» menu. Basically, the names of the dishes have remained the same, but the ingredients are very similar to either Japanese or Chinese. I spoke to the owner, and she denied the changes to the current menu items and admitted only to adding a few Chinese selections. She assured me my favorite dish, Cashew Nut Chicken, was the same as before the menu change. It is not. The sauce tasted like a sweet and sour dipping sauce, and the traditional Thai vegetables had been replaced with baby corn and water chestnuts. Also the Tom Yum soup, a spicy clear soup(also a favorite), tastes like the Chinese version of hot & sour soup. Just plain Yuck-o now. Fortunately, a new restaurant, Thai Sawatdee, has opened up off of Healy Drive, a little over a mile away.

First visit was amazing! Had the Seaweed Salad(they let me try a sample before ordering), the Crazzee Shrimp roll, the Salem Roll, and a Thai iced tea. The Seaweed Salad filled up a deep bowl, so after starting on the Thai iced tea with it, I ate some of the rolls before I needed a to-go box. The staff was very friendly, and the sushi chef was very outgoing. They were all enthusiastic about learning of my first visit, and I got a great feeling about them by seeing how upbeat and close-knit they were. I love sushi, but of course you have to be careful about where you go to eat it, so the terrific word-of-mouth I heard before going was what made me comfortable and interested. Nice, fairly quiet, and calm place to relax and enjoy high quality food.

I spent $ 25 on: Pot stickers — bland in taste(you’ll need the soy sauce) and soggy Unagi nigiri sushi — good but hard to eat(falls apart) Obentoo of garlic shrimp, house salad, steamed rice, and the Winston roll — Garlic shrimp was good, the house salad was only iceberg lettuce & gross salad dressing, and the Winston roll was odd. The roll is completely fried in batter, and when it arrived, it was cold. I am not a fan of cold, deep-fat-fried food. The roll did taste good though. The service was good, but the food itself was mediocre. Granted, I am a Chinese from Houston, so you’ll have to take this into account(although there were Asians working there, so I do have some expectations). I do wish miso soup had been a part of the obentoo(typical of Japanese restaurants in Houston). I would probably come here again since it’s a place where you can easily work or chill after a long day.

Sushi Thai is consistently an A+ restaurant every time I go. The waitstaff is friendly, bathrooms clean, low noise, great décor and perfect food. The menu has something for everyone. The sushi is always great. You won’t be disappointed in the sushi.

Great service and great food. Solid sushi. No, it’s not what you’re used to in whatever city you came from, but it’s still sushi and it’s still good, so get over yourselves. The Yakiniku is good. I haven’t had the thai dishes, but I will try them next time.

This was our third stop. Very nice place, very clean and a very nice staff. The rolls were fresh and yummy. We would say 3.5 stars bordering on 4. We ordered the Karito and Sky Beauty rolls. Worth a try if your in the area. The sushi chef is very friendly…
