Specialties
Located in the heart of downtown Winston Salem in the historic O’Hanlon building, «Mooney’s» offers their family recipes of Lebanese foods in a casual atmosphere. Try authentic Shawarma (beef), Tawook (chicken) or Falafel wraps, or dabble in a sampler of homemade Mezza (sides). With many vegetarian and vegan options, there is something for everyone, even half pound burgers with steak fries as an American divergence. Almaza, a Lebanese pilsener accompanies about a dozen craft brews. Château Musar, a Lebanese wine, is offered with others.
History
Established in 2009.
Mooney and his wife, Nadine moved to Winston Salem from Washington, DC to pursue a dream of opening an authentic Lebanese restaurant. Hoping to follow in the family footsteps: Mooney’s brother owns the Iron Gate, and their father owned the Blue Mirror, both legendary restaurants of Washington, DC.
