K and W Cafeteria

This chain restaurant does a solid job. If you ever have a hankering for some southern food but are not sure what you want OR you want it all, you should swing by here. The prices are great, especially if you go for a daily special. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
I am not sure if this is true for all K&W’s, but this spot has a take-​out section with a smaller but still substantial line of food options. The process of going through that line was still pretty long (~15 minutes), likely due to being there are rush hour when many people are grabbing takeout for work. I do wonder if it would have been quicker to go into the regular cafeteria during lunch hour. If you want anything not on that smaller cafeteria line, they will still grab it from the main area.
The building is nice and clean and there is plenty of parking available. Their food does tend to be on the heavier side, with fried chicken or fish, broccoli with cheese sauce, and other assorted soul-​food items, but they do have leaner options (eg. grilled chicken with no sauces, broccoli without the cheese sauce, sautéed vegetables). I was very surprised at how well-​cooked all the items were cooked considering how they were being kept in cafeteria bins.
Great place if you like slightly greasy-​spoon food or have a big group of people with varying tastes.
