My wife and I went here tonight and it was wonderful. I had the chicken ravioli and she had the eggplant parmigiana. Both our entrees were fantastic. We also enjoyed the salad and fresh baked bread. We finished off the meal with their fantastic tuxedo cake. It’s definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Winston-Salem.

Wow! For a tiny little restaurant, this place packs in a ton of DELICIOUS! In a two week business trip to W-S I managed to eat here 3 times. It’s that good! I couldn’t get enough of their sauce. Everything we tried in our THREE visits was outstanding. The servers were lovely and remembered me.

Love this place more and more. We had a gluten intolerant person. They had the best dinner. We all had a great dinner!

My wife and I visited Winston Salem this past weekend and decided to try Di Lisio’s based on the fine Unilocal reviews. Needless to say we were not disappointed in the food, service or hospitality. The food portions were large, delicious and reasonably priced. Service(Debra) was spot on and Tony the owner going around to all tables greeting his guests was a nice touch. The restaurant itself is small and not fancy so if you are looking for a fancy place to dine this is not it but you would be making a mistake by not going. I had the seafood dish which included 2 lobster tails, mussels, clams, shrimp and pasta. My wife had the chicken lasagna. Both dishes were OUTSTANDING as were the appetizers and desert. Tom & Marie

Finally, an Italian restaurant in the Triad that is really Italian and does it right! Yes, I know there are fellow Unilocalers out there that are going to argue their favorite Italian spot as the real deal. They may indeed be good, but are they NY Italian good? After my second visit I felt compelled to review because I wasn’t wrong after the first visit! It’s a small, quaint, not so quiet, and rather good on your sense of smell kinda place! From the moment the fresh, but crispy on the outside, bread that’s brought to your table you know that it’s real Italian! You can’t go wrong with the very basic Spaghetti and Meatballs due to his homemade meatballs being so incredibly fresh and obviously a mix of beef, sausage, pork, and spices! The Chicken Parmesan is done traditional Italian style by being pounded out to a thin slice of chicken that’s lightly coated in bread crumbs! The Chicken Marsala also is pounded thin, covered in a nice mushroom wine gravy! All of the entrees come with a side of pasta, but unlike what most people know from the«chain» joints, it’s a huge plate of rich, cream covered pasta that’s a meal itself! Dio Mio is what you’ll be heard saying as you exit Di Lisio’s! Fughetaboutit!

Absolutely quaint Italian restaurant located across from Brookstown Inn. Their lasagna was fantastic. A very small dining room gives it a café feel. We had the Greek salad to start with and it was made with fresh vegetables and an incredible dressing. We ate there at lunch and have wet our appetite for an evening dinner. I would definitely wrecking man this restaurant.

Best chicken parm sub in Winston Salem, hands down. Great atmosphere. I’ve only done pick up orders since I live across the street. The staff are very nice and friendly !

What a great place! I really wasn’t expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality and service. Great portion size, delicious, and good price point! One of my new favorite restaurants in Winston. Will definitely be back very soon!

This place is absolutely great. For some reason, I didn’t have super high expectations when I went in, but my attitude changed almost immediately. Every single thing I ordered was delicious and the service was top notch throughout the entire evening. The next day, when dinner time rolled around, I honestly would have gone back if it weren’t Sunday and they had been open. It was honestly that good. Other restaurants in town might have more hype and might look fancier from the outside, but the food is not going to be anywhere near as good. Di Lisio’s is easily the best Italian food in town and some of the best food of any sort you’ll find in the area.

I have wanted to try Di Lisio’s for months. Finally went and it lived up to my expectations and more! It is a quaint restaurant with romantic vibe(great for dates). Food was wonderful! They won brownie points with us when we had placed our orders but then saw a picture on Unilocal of something we wanted and they let us change our order. The chef said«order whatever we want and they will make it». Great customer service and food… we will be back!

Nice spot for good Italian food. They have a large menu with different pasta dishes and entrees and you can create your own entrée or pasta too. The service is good, everyone was kind and attentive. Take note that they don’t accept reservations. The lunch specials are also great – you get salad, bread and an entrée for less than $ 10.

Not too shabby, though not the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The bread was okay, warm but not terribly flavorful. It was served with oil and garlic, and a red pepper almond dip. The oil was very garlicky, but the red pepper dip was excellent. Salads are good, though my requirements for a good salad are pretty simple: fresh veggies, tasty dressing, and don’t put meat on it if it’s not advertised as having meat. The salads here met all of those requirements. I had the spaghetti with marinara, which was again okay but not amazing. I make better marinara sauce at home. My husband didn’t enjoy the side of meatballs that he ordered, calling them«too sweet.» The service is very good, though, with frequent drink refills.

My husband had an interview in town and this restaurant was across the street from our hotel The Brookstown which is exceptional. There was an hour wait but we did not mind because there was a waiting area in a breezeway where the hostesses brought us drinks. When we finally got a table we were not disappointed. The veal parm was so good. My grandmother was Italian and this place is as close to the real thing as it comes. I honestly started to tear up because it was so authentic and the staff was suburb. The chief who speaks with an Italian accent came out and asked how our meal was. He talked to everyone there. To say I’m impressed is an understatement. Don’t let this place pass you by if your in town.

Last time I was here I was jumping for joy and dubbed this my favorite Italian restaurant. Naturally my husband and I wanted to return. We called the restaurant to make a reservation. I was told they no longer take reservations but they do call ahead. I felt that was fine and negotiated a good time to arrive. It was in 45 minutes. We got there at the time I was told to arrive. We gave her our name as she checked us off. There were 5 tables opened. 2 tops and 4 tops. The hostess looked around and told us matter of factly we had another 45 minute wait. We left very disappointed with this experience. We went to Fratellis Italian Steakhouse on Renolyda Rd. See my great recommendation for Fratellis.

This place reminds me of the good, old-fashioned Italian foods my grandparents used to serve up for Sunday supper! To me the, slight lack of refinement in the dishes and atmosphere underscores the genuine nature of the food is served up here. For some reason, despite pre-meal planning dedicated to avoiding copious amounts of carbs, I always get the the same thing here, fettuccini w/Fradiovlo sauce w/clams. The dish is quite tasty and packs a punch mostly reserved for Thai hot lunches. The husband tried a special with shrimp pasta that was quite scrumptious. And the shrimp were cooked perfectly. We also sampled the calamari, which I was a bit weary of after reading it was«meh» in a couple devious, but we really enjoyed it! Not greasy, flaky, well-seasoned and tender. Not to mention it came with a tasty marinara dipping sauce. The house salad and bread which come with every meal helps make this place a great value. And there is a $ 18 bottle of montepulciano on the menu which is hard to beat!

WOW!!! I don’t give out 5 stars very easily. This restaurant had it all! Cute, small, with great ambiance. The service was exceptional. The food was outstanding. Unbelievable. Really a nice find. It was family friendly, but would be a great date place too. We had the calamari and the mozzarella sticks(kids). I tried both and they were good. The menu is extensive. Might be too much. I had the baked ziti and it was very tasty, I wanted to finish it because it was so good, but just not enough room in the belly. My son built his own pasta plate. Ziti with Alfredo. It looked really good. All my girls said their food was great. We did have leftover plates, the waitress packed them up for us. I really liked this, very classy. Good find. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed my lunch here on Friday. I like how the owners have redone the restaurant and made it feel a lot bigger. The service was good. For lunch I had their chicken parmesan and bread. The chicken parmesan was very cheap at 7 .49 for lunch. The chicken was crispy and had a good amount of cheese on it. My only criticism would be I thought it was a little salty. The pasta was cooked well and served with their homemade sauce. I like their sauce. It reminds me of the northern style Italian food I ate growing up and prefer. The bread was fresh and served warm with butter. The prices were great and I look forward to eating there for dinner or lunch again.

I don’t know of any Italian restaurant in the Triad that does old school red sauce dishes any better than what we tried here at lunch. This relatively small, on the edge of upscale, place was opened 4 months ago by Tony Di Liso, a native of Naples, and his wife Maria. Both had been connected with the Cicciones restaurants in Forsyth County previously, with Tony as a chef, so there is some solid Italian cooking experience here. They offer a nice variety of pasta dishes, with sandwiches, salads, and daily lunch specials. We started with an order of Garlic Bread($ 2.95) which comes with the housemade Marinara Sauce. Both the bread and the sauce were simply outstanding, with the Marinara Sauce being the very best I’ve ever tasted. It is a thick, rustic version, with small chunks of tomato and garlic throughout, and plenty of basil. The taste is crisp and sharp, not at all overly sweet like much of this sauce you encounter. The Garlic Bread benefits from a small amount of red pepper flakes for heat. The small house salads were well sized, loaded with greens, tomatoes, olives, and cucumber — and the Blue Cheese Dressing was great as well — plenty of cheese chunks, and a little sour hook at the end. The Spaghetti with Meat Sauce($ 8.95) was also very, very nice — a nice portion of noodles, generously topped with a thick, rich meat and tomato sauce. The Veal Parmigiana($ 14.95) with a side of Spaghetti, Salad, and bread was pretty good, the sauce especially was outstanding. This dish provided the only misstep of the meal — the veal was somewhat overcooked, and though it had some nice flavor, it was a touch dry and chewy. This is a touch pricey, but the portion size is nice. The service was excellent, though dishes were a tad slow out of the kitchen. As I said before, the sauces here are excellent, as good as it gets. We’ll be back to get sauced again.

Was a little skeptical of all the 5 star reviews for a brand new restaurant, but seeing some Unilocal friends among the reviewers I had to check it out. Was not disappointed. We started with the bruschetta which is a staple for us. Although the flavors were not as bold as I would like, the bread was thin and crisp as it should be(but often is not at other restaurants) and they served extra topping in the middle of the dish which was a nice touch. Both times I ordered the spaghetti in the house sauce, once with meatballs and once with sausage. Both meats were good, but I liked the meatballs better. Very rich and satisfying. The sauce was delicious. I ordered the spaghetti the second time just for that. This is casual Italian. My entrees were $ 12. I don’t know the economics of it, but I would prefer freshly grated cheese to the Kraft style Parmesan that was served with the bruschetta and spaghetti. No tap beers(and not sure if any are planned), but who wants to drink beer with Italian food anyway? I am looking forward to going back to explore more of the menu.
