Winslow House of Pizza

As pizza places go, this is one if the best. The Greek Calzone is out of this world, and if your ever lucky enough to get a piece of Baklava here, don’t pass up the opportunity. Their garden salad is always extremely fresh and goes the extra step with the colorful addition of purple cabbage to make for an appealing presentation. They are also always willing to accommodate my special requests.

Okay, it’s a House of Pizza — so don’t expect a gourmet experience.
But this little restaurant has a HUGE menu. While driving to Winslow from Boston late one Friday night we wanted some sandwiches to bring home. We used Unilocal to find this place — and confirmed they were still open. We ordered a Chicken Parm sub, a Chicken Cordon Blue sub, and some Jalapeño poppers — all were delicious. I think they’re a little on the pricey side for a pizza joint, but the quality of the food was good enough that I can’t really complain. I would have liked MORE poppers to come with the order, but they were DELICIOUS so again — no right to really complain. If you’re looking for a decent pizza/​sub takeout joint, give these guys a try.
