We had a great breakfast at Dar’s. My short stack filled a gigantic platter – fluffy and delicious. The address may not be right on Unilocal because it showed it on the corner. We kept walking and found it a couple doors down. Not a big sign out front. Close to the famous guy standing on the corner statute.

Solid diner food. The homemade chicken fried steak was awesome. Yeah, its not as fast as McDonalds, but come on, its a diner on Route 66. Great for breakfast!

My family went here on our way home to Oklahoma City, OK. Don’t recommend it. The staff is not friendly, when we finally turned in our order it took them 20 minutes to tell me I needed to order something else because they were out of turkey and almost a whole hour to get 3 burgers with the greasiest fries ever!!! Such a disappointment! The staff was more interested in their cell phones than in doing their jobs!!!

All the Route 66 atmosphere you could want, and tasty diner food. The waiter was very nice but a bit unsure of himself. The cook flipped the pancakes super high for a good show. Omlettes were delicious and the right kind of greasy. I was a bit concerned about the ice in our water, it looked picked and like the icemaker may never have been cleaned, but that’s the case in most restaurants. My partner likes thick dark coffee and found this the best so far in AZ. Not strong, but drinkable, which is way better than the last three places.

We didn’t get to eat here, because the woman who was smoking a cigarette in the doorway said they were closed. The open sign was flashing away and there was a table occupied and it was 3 pm. The hours weren’t listed anywhere that we could see. She said try a place up the road but we just got in the car and got out of Winslow bc to be honest, it’s not the kind of place I wanted to wander around on food in hopes that someone would allow us inside.

If you’re standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona & lookin’ for a place to eat, I’d recommend Dar’s. We originally set out to eat at the Brown Mug across the street, only to discover that they aren’t open for breakfast. So we decided to take it easy(I’m sorry, I can’t stop with the Eagles references) and try Dar’s. The pancakes are HUGE and so good!(I got a short stack and couldn’t even finish it all, they’re so filling). This place is really neat(ask about the brick wall). This restaurant is very clean(especially the bathrooms, PTL!) and the staff was nice.

We had the best breakfast at Dar’s! My friend loved the biscuits and gravy, and I especially enjoyed the tasty bacon and probably some of the best wheat toast I have ever eaten! The service was wonderful, and so friendly! We really enjoyed discussing our love of essential oils with our server. She was so sweet and we found out that her husband is a bartender at the fabulous La Posada Hotel down the street. Great homey diner!

On our road trip, we had Winslow Arizona as a stop. This diner was really cute and had a great Route 66 look to it. However, we wasted an hour here waiting on our food… even though we only ordered three easy-to-make sandwiches. I could have made the turkey sandwich on my own in 5 minutes tops, it wasn’t anything fancy at all. Not to mention they messed up my order; instead a turkey sandwich with just cheese on it, I received a turkey sandwich with everything BUT cheese on it. And no one offered a solution to my problem, they actually avoided me afterwards. I wish I would have saved my time and money for a different place.

A great diner, good music, nostalgic setting. The yummy Club 66 sandwich was built for two. Total bill was $ 13.86. I really wanted a beer to boot, sorry folks, just soda. That’s ok, the service was friendly.

Looking for a quick bite to eat. There was one other group in there so the wait wasn’t long at all. Cool Route 66 atmosphere, especially the faded brick wall. The hamburger was greasy/juicy and okay. You have to add your own condiments, which is alright I guess. The fries were especially disappointing — very greasy and border-line soggy. Overall, I just wasn’t that impressed. I’d check out another place to eat before I went back. Oh … and while they do take credit cards, you have to add up your total with the tax. Thought that was odd.

Very good food, great coffee and very good service! Very happy that we decided to stop here for breakfast! Will come here again tomorrow and any time we return to visit Winslow again!

While the wait for food was long, considering there weren’t too many people there, the food was great. I had a burger and it was juicy and very tasty. The fries were nice and crispy. Overall it was a fun spot for lunch. It was trying hard for a Route 66 feel and we really enjoyed what we saw. Would definitely go back.

After standing on the corner, in Winslow, Arizona, we had to try this diner we had found on Unilocal. It’s very dinerish, a little tacky, but the food was fantastic. I had the Route 66 breakfast with 2 pancakes, and they were the best pancakes I have ever had. Fluffy and delicious. The breakfast was great too. If you are near and hungry, check this diner out! Delish!

Cute diner right across the street from the«Standin on a Corner» park. They had plenty of Route 66 and Americana items, but not so much that it’s overwhelming. Service was a little underwhelming, but I think the book just forgot to tell the waitress I was there. As soon as she realized I was, she was great. The food came quick and hot. I had the biscuits and gravy, which was a perfect little brunch before hours on I-40. The prices were very reasonable for the food you get. Place, including the bathrooms, was very clean. I didn’t discover I had an issue with this place until a week later I saw they overcharge by credit card by double. Not cool.

If you’re going to come through Winslow to stand on the corner, you should sit in a booth here. They play Eagles music in the background and the service is quick. I had the western omelet with chorizo, with hashbrowns on the side, topped with green chile sauce. Also included is toast; mine was sourdough with jalapeño raspberry jam. My husband had pancakes and they were the size of a dinner plate! Highly recommend.

Well I live here so like most it take’s awhile to try something new, bad choice. Should have tried it long ago. Dar served us and the food was delicious. The wet fries are something new and yummy to me. Will be back soon to try those good looking biscuits! Oh and they serve breakfast all day, nothing like breakfast for dinner.

Similar to other posters, we stopped in after taking«standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona». Staff was extremely friendly and the service was quick. Dar was actually our waitress. Food was standard rte 66 diner food, but definitely tasty/what we expected/wanted. Diner was also well maintained, and clean.

Yeah, I’m guilty. Wanted to get my pic taken«standing on the corner». I’m also a sucker for the 1001 restaurants along Route 66 that call themselves«Route 66 diner or café» or something similar. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re too kitschy. This one struck a nice balance. The food was decent, not chart-topping out of this world but enjoyable. I had chicken fried steak and eggs and thought the gravy could have been kicked up a notch. The prices are reasonable. The entire reason I’m giving them a star above average was the server was a lot above average … you know, one of those people whose enthusiasm just brightens up your day and makes you feel good all over. The guys in the kitchen were the same way, just a bunch of happy dudes. Let’s face it, Winslow doesn’t have a lot of choices and most of them are closed at lunch on weekdays, so Dar’s doesn’t have to do anything special, knowing most of their customers are just passing through. Since they make the effort to do a good job, they deserve 4 stars.

I had the special which was a hamburger steak eggs and hash browns with a toast or biscuit for $ 7.49. Dar’s has Fanta Strawberry in bottle and great service, Dar even comes and waits on you. They have coke signs and memorabilia all over the place, and later in the summer they are going to open a malt bar. We tried the cinnamon roll, warm and huge, we defiantly had to share it. The wall leading into the bathrooms is original, so when you go through it you are going through history

It’s cute. It really is! Then the food comes out, and it LOOKS good enough… then it’s just… not. The chicken fried steak was gristle-y, the«just out of the oven» biscuits were cold, and the rest of it was just… meh. The people are sweet and the ambience is really great. It’s just not so high on the yum factor. Sorry Dar’s, wish you luck fixing these little glitches so you can shine. You’re certainly in a great spot and have a cute place. We wanted to love you! But we didn’t.;(
