History
Established in 1977.
Opening their doors originally in Winnetka in 1977, Material Possessions was created to satisfy all home décor desires. In 1983, owner Peggy Swartchild partnered with fellow entrepreneur, Carol Levy, to open a second location in Chicago within the high-end department store, Stanley Korshak. Now with locations in both Winnetka and Chicago, Material Possessions’ has developed stores with a well-defined point of view and creative eye brimming with sophisticated and timeless pieces that not only look gorgeous, but also serve a function.
