The food was good, service was okay. I definitely wouldn’t recommend alcoholic drinks other than beer, I ordered a margarita and it tasted like a Bolis. Also thought it was super sketchy that the security guard padded down every man walking through the door. Overall, not extremely bad.

Pupusas are good. But the service is terrible. Walked in to order food and wasn’t sure if the restaurant was even open because all the lights were off. I called to inquire about placing an order and the person answering wouldn’t give me her name when I asked for it and cut me off while I was speaking. A little common phone courtesy goes a long way people… smh.

The food is bomb, but if there’s this older woman attending you I recommend not leaving her anything if you’re new. She never comes to ask if you’re doing ok or if the food is good, BUT when it comes down to the tip she’s an ass kisser. My family has been getting our pupusas from here for years and I’ve only eaten here TWICE and she’s rude as heck! But otherwise the food is super bomb and the prices are amazing. It’s just her that ruins the whole experience, she’s pretty much in her own world. I’m assuming her name is nancy but I’m not sure.

NONONO! Go somewhere else!!! Gave this place 3 chances. First time the lady was so rude when i asked her about the menu, acted like they didnt need my business. Second time ordered over the phone. Lady says 40min, get there turns into 20 more min. literally made them until i got there! Last time at last. Ordered over the phone yet again! Lady said id be 20 min. Gave them 30min. Now all my pupusas were not fresh! These pupusas were warmed up like yesterdays left overs!!! There was literaly cold icicles in the middle hard bent up edges. For your safety dont eat here!!! WILLNEVERGOBACKAGAIN!!! There people dont like English speaking people, new customers. not friendly rude rude rude. Im sure they wont even read this or care to know. BUTYOU!!! for your health and happiness go somewhere else!!!

My first visit here years ago was not the greatest keep in mind I’m Mexican grew up on Mexican food and realy dined out of the home swear I never ever had salvidoran food ever growing up. I went to check out a apt where a friend lived and then after I checked it out he says let’s go eat PUPUSAS HuH!!! What are pupusas? I kid you not that was my reaction!!! He laughs and says Wow I’ve only been in the states for 1 yr and I can’t believe you’ve been here all your life and don’t even know what it is After a good laugh I said ok introduce me to Salvi food Now while I was growing up and my surroundings there was alot of racism some at home and school so I grew up thinking salvidoran folks were mean and aggressive with words ect. so I was nervous cause that was my Mental state back then We arrive and immediately I felt so out of place the I felt the waitresses knew I wasn’t of her race and I felt like she didn’t want to even want to give me her service so I let my friend do all the talking He says to let start you off with the cheese pupusas ok I said ok When we received our order my first reaction was«wait these are gorditas» My friend said my mijita there not the process of making a pupusa is different Aaaaaaahhhh ok So there waitress handed us our knives and forks and I saw him using them(years later I find out that’s not how you eat them) I take the first bite WOOOOOOWW!!! why was I not told about this delicious so called pupusas before so so good!!! So I became a regular customer after that even tho sometimes I do get the waitress in a bad mood I don’t care I really like the pupusas here and once in a while I hear the waitress and the cook going at it oh well I’m just here for the pupusas

First things first … The pupusas here are bomb! I’m from El Salvador and have had them in El Salvador and from my aunts who make them here and this place is the closest to tasting like they were made in El Salvador. I don’t venture out too much to try anything else on their menu but if you’re looking for pupusas this place is awesome! Revueltas are my favorite but the cheese ones are good too. Only thing to be aware of is that they take a good minute to make them … So if you’re starving this may not be the place to go to. It doesn’t matter if you’re the only person in there lol they still take their time making them. I’ve been coming here for 26 years and of all the other places I’ve tried this is BYFAR my favorite place cuz their pupusas are that good!

Driving around last Sunday, looking for a restaurant that makes Pupusas. I went to a few that were closed by 5:30pm. I called Jaltepeque to ask what time they closed(I didn’t want to drive to another place and have it be closed). I was so excited that they were open until midnight! My dad is very picky with food(it could be food from a five star restaurant and he’ll still say it was the most disgusting thing he’s ever eaten) so I was hoping that he would like them. The lady that took my order was very friendly. I was relieved when my dad not only ate without complaining but, he wanted seconds! Total break through for that miserable old man. Lol. Every one else loved them too. I will definitely be returning.

I went here once and will never visit again. Service was horrible and food took for ever to arrive. But what broke the camels back was that they wanted to bill us differently than what was on the menu. They stated that the prices were based out of the new menu but they had not received the new menu’s yet. I must apologies for this place because I am Salvia and we are honest people contrary to this hell hole. I do not recommend this place at all. Boil an egg if ur that hungry.

Of course it’s «Salvadorean Style» and of course its not the best place to get your«Mex fix» it’s a salvi restaurant! LOL I give the pupusas 5 stars but i don’t like the salsa, its a bit sweet. I’ve had better and i love the salsa on my pupusas with the curtido. The service is not bad and its not friendly either. The lady is nice cause i’m there all the time but she’s not a smiley person. I have yet to try any other dish so i can’t comment on that. But the pususas are amazing i think! If anyone can recommend a better Salvi spot please let me know! Thanks!

Service sucks! Better when ordering out, best waitress is Vicky! Slow and horrible service and very cheap with the chips how can a small basket feed 5 people they get you with the bill where they don’t show you that they charged you for extra chips. Gave it two stars because of the good experience with the take out service!

I’m moving out of state soon so I wanted to have some pupusas from a place I hear friends talk about. Ordered some pork/cheese pupusas and they tasted awesome. Took a star off since they acted as if I was interrupting them when the place was empty, but food made up for lack luster service.

I have visited this place a few times and each time, really love their pupusas! The squash & cheese as well as the Revuelta(with pork, beans, & cheese) are my favorites. I crave these all the time, it’s a sick obsession really, especially now that I’ve moved so far away — d’oh! …Okay, now that being said, BESIDES the actual food part, this place isn’t exactly my first choice when I think«dining out» for a couple of reasons… the first BIG one being no one that works here can communicate in English. The previous review about being hung up on if you try to call and order in English is completely right — it happened to me twice. If you don’t speak their language, most likely they will completely ignore you if you’re sitting down to eat in their restaurant. Really. I’ve been to many restaurants where the person didn’t speak my language very well, but they still TRIED to be helpful, dangit! The ambiance sometimes is a little weird too… like, you can be sitting there in complete quiet, no one in the restaurant but you, and then all of a sudden a super loud song will blast out of the jukebox, startling you half to death if you’re not paying attention. Then it will end, and you’ll be in complete quiet again. If you’re there in the evening, chances are the music will be on all night, and it will feel very much like a bar/club. It’s. interesting. I really love the pupusas here. LOVE! That is why this place squeaked by with 3 stars instead of 2. I hope this place figures out they can get more business if they… oh I don’t know. learn how to communicate with their customers?! One can only hope, right?

We phone ordered 12 bean and cheese pupusas and instead they gave us 12 pork. We ripped 4 of them in half b/c when the first one wasn’t pork, we started checking the rest. Even though we had to drive 30 minutes round trip to exchange them they wanted to only exchange 8 of the 12 b/c 4 of them were ripped. HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE! At this point I wanted a refund b/c I was so irritated with the situation and they refused so I had to argue with them until I got 12. They messed up the order and expected me to just pay them $ 8 for food I did not receive. There have been plenty of times they shorted me 1 pupusa and still charged me! After this, I will never go back to this place. Vicki was the one who gave horrible customer service! Not to mention they don’t speak English so the whole time I was arguing with Vicki, she didn’t even look at me and only looked and responded to my friend who was translating everything. They will hang up on you if you call and try to order in English. I understand it is a Salvadorean restaurant, but we live in the United States and if you want better business then you need to provide better customer service! I would recommend trying another restaurant if you are in the mood for Salvadorean food.

Not the best pupusas around but definitely my number two choice. The Sopa de Gallina(that’s hen– not chicken– soup) is EXCELLENT though. They use real, fresh hen instead of chickens pumped with steroids. For those of you not used to this kind of soup, you might find it(the soup, not the hen) a little greasy at first but it’s perfectly seasoned and tastes just like the one in the soup house my grandpa used to take me to back in El Salvador.
