Nor Cal Maintenance

I called Dave at Nor-​Cal. He picked up the call right away and scheduled an appointment first thing the next Monday at 9:00. He showed up right on time and reviewed the work with me — a difficult two story Victorian house and separate apartment over the garage. We agreed on the reasonable price. His guys showed up right away and did a thorough gutter and downspout cleaning with a decent clean up after. He showed me some places that needed repair and suggested we could talk about it later. He suggested gutter guards and showed me some samples, but did not put on a «hard sell» when I said I was not interested. I was happy with his service and look forward to having back in the future.

David responded quickly to my email for quote, setup the appointment and completed the work as promised. He left the area clean after completing the work. I will be using Nor Cal Maintenance in the future.

Finally found reliable, on-​time and affordable folks to help with home maintenance. A pleasure working with Dave and his crew.

Dave is excellent! He or someone comes every year and does the work while we are busy working at our own jobs. He mails an invoice and a copy of any notes about what he sees going on. He cleans the walk ways and the sidewalks outside our property and we couldn’t be happier. We are homeowners so having someone who is bonded and holds insurance in case of accidents is worth the slight extra price. He gives us a discount which increases each year we use his services and he is always polite and honest when we speak on the phone.

Nor Cal Maintenance cleaned our gutters in Healdsburg last week, and the entire transaction was excellent. David was in touch regularly from time of booking cleaning through date of the job. Crew arrived on time, did what was expected. The job was more than was initially anticipated, but the final price was fair and reasonable. I will use them again and would recommend them to others.

The cleaning of my gutters was done professionally by David’s two crew members with David supervising. They were prompt and cleaned up after themselves. That beats me going up on the roof. I appreciate David pointing out the four leaks that were fixed and the photos of the before and after results. They were well worth it.

With El Nino supposedly coming this winter, we needed to have our gutters looked at. We called Nor Cal Maintenance to come out and take a look at thew. We made an appt for the very next week (9÷4÷15), David and his assistant showed up to our home on time and ready to go.
We have a set of gutters along the side of the house that is on a zero-​lot line. They couldn’t go onto our neighbor’s property to clean them out but they were able to accommodate us by cleaning those gutters by scooping the debris out by hand! Those particular gutter were pretty full so we understand how much work that was for them!
They recommended crowns be installed in the downspouts which will really help keep leaves and sticky balls, of the tree next door, out of our gutters. They also recommended a few things they could do for a problem «waterfall» gutter we have near the front door which we truly appreciated as well.
They were prompt, friendly, great communication & took less than an hour (we have a 1250 sq ft house, single story with gutters on all 4 sides) Very reasonable pricing & they also cleaned up from the mess the gutter cleaning left behind.
We plan on having our gutters maintained annually from now on and will definitely be calling Nor Cal Maintenance again next fall!

David and his crew did a thorough job cleaning our gutters in Healdsburg and their price was fair. They cleaned up well after the job was done.

Unlike the experience that Ruth L. had, I can say that we had a wonderful interaction with David and his crew. They arrived on time. Care was taken with our new roof so that the the ladders never touched the new gutters. As it turns out, our roof installers left scraps of composite roofing tiles in the gutter and David informed us of this; we even climbed up the ladder to see how bad it was. In spite of the added work David kept to the price he quoted. They were here a long time and it was freezing cold, so we paid a bit more than the quoted price, even though David was not charging us that… All in all a great experience. We may go with the Leaf Guard install that David proposed. With a 5 year guarantee it sounds fair and more cost efficient — should pay for itself in 3 years.

This guy came to our house. The agreed on rate was $ 300 to remove the moss from our roof & gutters. Ok, it’s high but fine, the guy is American, fine we try to hire American workers. The work was for removal of moss on our roof. The guy finishes, tries to hard sell us this gutter thing for the gutters. Nope. VERY HARD SELL OF THIS GUTTER THING. Don’t want it. So he does the «work». He wants the check. Fine. Husband comes in and says, he wants another $ 225 for the mossicide. What? We told him we wanted that on the phone & before he started the work! This was NOT the agreement. Fine. We pay it, we’re pissed. I’m writing this review, and I’m keeping a copy of this review since I’ll be posting it elsewhere on the internet in case Unilocal removes it.
BTW, this guy advertises on CRAIGSLIST in the Bay Area. BUYER BEWARE, BUYER BEWARE!!! Upshot is we paid $ 525 for this guy to clean our gutters on the roof & add mossicide that is it. FURTHERMORE, he did not clean one side of the roof gutter, it still had MOSS IN IT! My husband had to do it himself.

EDIT: No David, you never contacted us after we paid you. I’m sorry that my review upsets you but it is the truth. You are a nice charming friendly person, but charging us something other than what was agreed upon, plus the hard sell, plus the moss is still on the house is not conducive to good business practices. I do wish you luck in your business and that this review helps you improve. Verbal agreements mean something.
