The Flying Fur

I really wanted to love this place since it’s so conveniently located, but after 3 grooming attempts, we have decided to look elsewhere. Grooming is really inconsistent. Last time, overall my dog looked great, but this time was really bad. We can see shaving lines on her fur, and her cut is really choppy and uneven. In fact, it’s nothing at all like we had asked for. A bad hair cut, I could live with since fur obviously grows back… But my dog acts very strange when coming here and actually tries to run out the front door when we drop her off. We often take her to doggy daycare and the vet and this behavior never occurs. Also. They ask for a tip and payment before you can see your dog. Weird. Anyways. Will be looking elsewhere. Other people seem to have raving reviews but not us.

The Flying Fur is a caring and safe place to bring your pet. They even do daycare which has helped my dog’s behavior so much, she’s exhausted by the end of the day and I feel good knowing she was exercised, socialized and well taken care of. Highly recommend!

I have brought my doggie to the The Flying Fur several times since they’ve opened for grooming and nail trims. They’re the best! You show up for a nail trim and they take you right in and minutes later you’re on your way! The grooming is amazing. My dog comes out looking all clean and fluffy and smells wonderful!(Even his feet!) Everyone at The Flying Fur is soooo good with the animals and you can tell that they love animals. Keep up the good work!

We got our rescue back in march. We decided why not get him groomed for his welcome to his new home. They did a fantastic job with his nails and bath. Since then we have been bringing him to get groomed, his nails and even boarded him. They always put up with the crazy fur mom in me checking on him. They’re great and patient with him as he can be quite the handful. He got injured a few months back so he is not a fan of his paw touched. They are very understanding to his need of special attention on his one paw that is now sensitive. Highly reccomend! I wish I could put more than 5 stars.

I have been bringing my dog Tank to Flying Fur for grooming & daycare for just over a year. I LOVE this place! Tank is not an easy dog, but the employees are always happy to see him and work with him to make sure that he has a great time at daycare. Whenever he is groomed he always looks amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone!

I cannot believe there aren’t more reviews of this place. It’s family run (and I mean grandpa comes on a holiday at 6am to feed the pups who are boarding.) Alexa is the owner and main groomer. She is so genuine and her entire team simply loves dogs. She grooms really well. They cut nails perfectly too. My dog has been going here for 2 years now, every since I moved to CT. He has boarded there 10+ times I think.
Before I moved to CT my dog had been to several other kennels. Since moving here, he had been to 2 others prior to this place. (brief review of one of the places below) This is really the best place.
Flying Fur: GREAT location. Closes at 6pm. Dogs play and play right up until you pick them up, until 6pm if you come then. The puppies play area has huge open window to the parking lot, so everyone can see the dogs playing, having fun. Also, at previous kennels, my dog would consistently be returned to me smelling profusely of pee mixed with cleaning spray. Not here. He smells like when I left him there in the morning. How? No idea. He does play with upwards of 15 dogs in one day.
Brief side review:
Day Hill Kennels… they not only close down right at 5:30, they put the dogs in kennels starting at 3:30 to start cleaning. What’s that about? Doggies are typically most energetic in the late afternoons. Also, not the nicest people in my opinion.

I have been to a few groomers with my dog in the past 8 years. The people here are friendly, the hours are great, the prices are great. This is the ONLY groomer I have ever been to that I would recommend to anyone. They are kind to my animal and considerate of me and my feelings as well. A++++

The Flying Fur gives my Labradoodle a great cut. She has a lot of wooly hair and getting an even and attractive cut is a challenge. I currently live in Washington, D.C. and bring her here whenever we visit. They are really accommodating and talented with grooming. She always looks great and the haircut grows out really well. I highly recommend The Flying Fur.

Great place. Brought my dog there several times and didn’t recognize him when I picked him up. Brought a stray husky there who had been chained to a tree for all her 9 years and the staff had 5 people on her for like 4 hours and still only charged $ 80. Very clean, very animal experienced. Great atmosphere!
