Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bradley Airport

Holiday Inn Express is typically a 3-​star property. However, I give them an extra star for the following reasons. It is a consistent and predictable product. It is clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. The bricks and mortar were all in great condition. It is moments from the airport with free wifi and shuttle service. It is likely the quietest property I have ever stayed in.
To some consistent and predictable is a bad thing. For me, as I travel a lot it is highly desirable. I would highly recommend this place!

This hotel did the job it was supposed to. Provided a good clean place to spend the night. The hotel desk staff was really great and very friendly. The room was clean (we did check the sheets as suggested in another review, everything was fine). The pillows and beds were good and the heat/​A/​C unit was audible but not so loud as to keep you awake. The bathroom did not have a fan, so it got very humid after a hot shower… The tub was also very slow draining. The fitness center was small but the equipment did work and it met our simple needs… The breakfast was good but pretty run of the mill, not bad, not great, just sufficient. For the price this was a good place to rest for an evening between college open houses…

Stay away. This place is hazardous to your health!
Woke up in the morning and found a dried blood stain on the comforter beneath the coverings. It was not a washed left over stain but a dried unwashed stain. Absolutely disgusting. See picture.
And as a side point there was no shampoo, or any other amenities in the room. With the strict flight rules I do not travel with liquids and depend on the hotels to supply.
Lastly my flight boarded at 5:10. The shuttle does not leave hotel till 4:50 am. ??? Nobody is thinking or what.
Summation stay anywhere else they obviously do not Change ALL the linen. Just gross.

Got so mad about this I called. I was assured that they had a social media team that would respond to the complaint on Unilocal but as we can all see nothing.

Great hotel, clean room, friendly desk service. Free parking.
If you have kids, pool is on the small side, but again clean overall.
Would stay here again!

We’ve stayed here a few times when we had an early flight out of Bradley. It’s nice being able to get up, and go… vs having to drive up to the airport.
When you make your reservation, make sure you note that you want long term parking. We did not do so last time and they were out of long term spots. Not a huge deal since there are a lot of parking services within minutes. But the free parking is a very nice perk for long trips.
Rooms have been nice with ample space, a fridge and a flatscreen TV. Rooms are always clean and well kept. The breakfast was partially out for us both times we were there, despite us leaving earlier in the morning. I’ve found the staff to be friendly and accommodating.

The airport shuttle showed up 3 minutes early and didn’t wait until the scheduled departure time and no one was at the front desk to assist. I almost missed my flight as a result. This is unacceptable.

I stayed with a small group over the Memorial holiday weekend and overall had a pleasant experience. However, I was involved in a verbal confrontation with the overnight front desk agent. I could not access my room via the keycard and proceeded back down to the lobby to get the card reprogrammed. No one was present at the desk and finally the agent approached after approximately one minute. Right away she had a bad attitude and did not greet me as the professional 2^nd shift front desk agent did when my group checked in. I explained my situation and asked if I could please have my keycard reprogrammed. She rudely asked «Room number?», I told her the room and she snatched the keycard out of my hand and threw it across the desk area approximately 50″ or so. Words were exchanged and she threatened me with calling the police. She hurled a few more insults my way and I call her a choice name. I wanted to just go back to my room but she keep on with insulting me. She finally called the police and no further incident occurred as my party and her were just advised to not interact further with each other. Corporate office was informed and they were very helpful in listening to my complaint and did address it with the general manager. Other than this horrible experience with one unprofessional and rude individual, everything else was perfect with the hotel and additional staff.

It was midnight. and it was a long day of travel and airports. called the Hilton and they were sold out. I’m glad.
The Holiday Inn Express is just what I was looking for. spacious rooms, comfy bed and great price. Also, it happened to be located near the car rental place. I was thirsty and hit the vending machines for a diet coke. it was $ 1. not bad!
The basics are good. free wifi. mini fridge and microwave in the room. flat screen tv. spacious bath with the stuff you expect. curved shower curtain rod for roomier shower.
I’m not staying for the free breakfast. (things to do… places to see. restaurants to try. .) But it’s there.
Did I mention free parking? I was going to go to a downtown hotel, but I would have had to pay for parking… I’m here for like 8 hours… I’ll just drive downtown this morning.
It’s Hartford CT… I want some good breakfast and a little Mark Twain House… then it’s off to my destination.

I needed a one night hotel stay while transitioning over to our new house. I travel IHG hotels for business quite a bit and used some reward points to stay here. Plenty of parking, good access to the airport and restaurants in the area, and a nice lobby area with breakfast section. The business center is just off the breakfast area and not in it’s own room. The manager was training a new employee who struggled a bit with the IHG lingo, but they were both friendly and courteous. IHG has the best rewards program IMHO. The rooms were clean, and spacious. It appears the hotel has undergone a renovation in the last few years. Typical HIE and suits itself for short, inexpensive trips.

Not bad for an airport hotel. Very clean and has a modern/​updated feel to it

I felt that the hotel was clean and comfortable but the only issue I had was a major issue. They claim to have transportation to and from the airport which is literally a 10 minute drive to the terminal building. They use a third party transportation company which also provides transportation for other hotels in the area. we had made a reservation for 8:30 which seems reasonable, but then one member of our group received phone calls afterwards (late in the evening) stating that our shuttle would be at a later time which was unacceptable. The other issue was that the continental breakfast wasn’t put out until closer to 7;30a. The woman who was working the desk the night we showed up did an excellent job and really provided some of the best service I have ever experience at a hotel.

I gave this a 3.5−4 star based on service, front desk friendliness and low price.
This is based on the snow storm and power outages that happended towards end of Oct beginning of Nov.
The front desk manager worked with me basically to get a room because they had not had power for a week and they just got it turned on. Before that they were turning people down.
The accomodations were fair… Overall clean room, beds were made, fresh linen etc.
The only thing I did notice was the shower didn’t get wiped down or fully clean. Mold spots were developing in the corners and some remnents of past guests hair. Not liking that but got over it.
Overall, great bang for your buck and the staff was friendly.

Absolutely in agreement with the first reviewer. This hotel is conveniently located not too far from the Bradley international airport, yet it’s quiet so you’ll get a good night sleep. The rooms are clean and spacious with the usual amenities: free wi-​fi, coffee maker, microwave, couch, flat screen tv, comfy beds and pillows… The breakfast described as a continental breakfast will please everyone: eggs, sausages, toasts, bagels, oatmeal, cereals, yogurt, fruits…
To top it all, friendly staff. So yep a good quality to price ratio. Hampton inn, you now got some serious competition from all the renovated Holiday inn express.

I can’t give a Holiday Inn Express 5 stars, but this hotel deserves 4 stars for the very reasonable price a the big bang for the buck. Our room was $ 107 — $ 118 with all the CT tax. We had two queen beds, a couch and a desk, and the room had all one would need — a coffee maker, a refrigerator, a microwave, and iron and ironing board. Big Sony Flat screen TV, large comfortable bathroom, and nice linens. The hotel has an indoor pool, but it is small and just enough of a pool to say you have one. The fitness room was windowless with two treadmills and a recumbent bike. So while this is not the Four Seasons, it was all very clean, nice and updated. The staff were very friendly and they also serve a“hot breakfast”.
When my wife told me about the breakfast, I assumed it would be a stale muffin and coffee. Much to my surprise, the breakfast buffet was nicely stocked. There were multiple cereals, top brand yogurt, orange and apple juice, fresh bananas, and miniature cinnamon buns under a warmer. Bagels, english muffins and bread flanked a toaster with peanut butter, butter, and jelly. The best were the precooked eggs rounds and round sausages which were also in a warmer. The eggs looked like the round eggs from a McDonald’s egg-​mcmuffin. I toasted up an English muffin and made my own sausage mcmuffin, and was surprised by the quality. The coffee was also good, and an assortment of teas was also available.
I would definitely stay here again, and I liked the cleanliness of the facilities and attentiveness of the staff. We asked for, and were given, a late 3:00 pm checkout time. Great hotel for the money.
