Windermere Preparatory School is a private college preparatory school educating students from Pre-​kindergarten through twelfth grade. WPS is a member of the Meritas Family of Schools and is located on a 48 acre campus in southwest Orlando. We draw students from all religious, ethnic and international backgrounds and enjoy a truly diverse, multicultural academic community committed to the common goal of academic excellence. Our students and faculty live by the ideals depicted in our school crest — Veritas — Knowledge, Virtus — Virtue, and Unitas — Unity.

History

Established in 2000.

Windermere Preparatory School opened its doors for the first time on September 5, 2000, with an enrollment of 184 students housed in 12 portable classrooms, and taught by 25 outstanding faculty members. In the last twelve years our school has grown to 1,150 students who enjoy 48 acres of a beautiful, open-​air campus on Lake Cypress.

The Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School reflect a friendly neighborhood environment, with spacious classrooms, state of-​the-​art gymnasium and athletic fields, and 8 lanes/​25 yard competitive swimming pool. The dining facilities include a boutique café, primary school lunchroom, and a large secondary school dining area.

Presently, WPS employs over 150 faculty and staff who hold multiple degrees and are state certified. WPS is fully accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Florida Council of Independent Schools, Southern Association of Independent Schools, and Florida Kindergarten Council, as well as the FHSAA.
