Take out Bulgoki & rice were subpar at best for Korean BBQ :-/ Salad in the same container became hot & soggy lettuce. Bulgoki was dry & sparse compared to the overwhelming amount of vegetables. First time here so willing to try something else but not impressed overall.

The Phở was great! I went in tonight excited to have some phở because it has been months since I’ve had it last. They did not disappoint. The Phở was flavorful and of course plentiful. As another review noted they do give you the phở with all the vegetables already in it. Which was fine by me however, I did ask for more. They quickly went and got me an additional bowl full of veggies for me to add to my taste. While the taste was great it wasn’t hot enough for me and so I added loads of Sriracha. This is not because of the taste but I’m just one of those that likes it spicy. While the service was kind of slow, it wasn’t that bad. I will be returning to try the sushi next time.

It’s been a while since I’ve been fortunate to have stumbled on a nice surprise eatery. Nestled just off Loudoun St and Weems in Winchester you’ll find Mr. Noodle and Rice. I’ve been here at least twice and have made this officially my other favorite Asian food-fix location. The specialty is Japanese with a strong emphasis on sushi. You will not be disappointed with your choices in Nigiri, Uramaki, Maki, and special requests. The food is simply the best even compared to places I would frequent in Bethesda, Northern Virginia, and DC. A nice place for a quiet lunch and I’d love to bring«her» here as there is subtle and nice romantic setting. Soft jazz ballads and the coziness remind me of an off the path Brooklyn Heights sushi bar. The prices are below expected for this very very nice find. Bring someone you love and who can appreciate the art of preparation and flavor Mr. Noodle and Rice offers.

Had the Phở Ga, some Maguro and Unagi sushi and it was all phenomenal. Will definitely give this charming little eatery more business in the future!

Coming from NYC, this place is the only one I’ve found that’s a close second for good Asian cuisine, for the area. If you enjoy good food, this is for you. Service was not speedy but staff is very nice and accommodating.

I don’t know about the sushi, but the grilled chicken was awful. I think they use frozen chicken they heat in the microwave and they use the same chicken in the phở. We were Disappointed.

I called in an order to pick up but when I got there they said they didn’t have any pick up orders. I double checked the number. We had a whole conversation about bibimbap and how I could only get the egg on the dinner portion. I won’t be going back

The Phở was bland. It arrived without the accompanying dish of cilantro, jalapeño, bean sprouts, basil and lime. some of these were already in the dish. This is a dish for people who don’t know what real Phở should be like. Didn’t try anything else but won’t bother to go back. Plenty of places with real ethnic food. We’ll leave this to the Olive Garden crowd

Quality has declined a bit since I wrote my last review. They are under new management. Still very affordable and great value for the price, but I no longer consider this the best sushi in Winchester.

I came here expecting a nice warm meal but was severely disappointed by the meal. I ordered the yukaejang which is a Korean soup with shredded beef and vegetables. The soup tasted like black pepper and soy sauce instead of a traditional soup base. My girlfriend ordered the sundooboo which is Korean tofu soup. The taste was slightly better but also did not taste anything similar to how a traditional sundooboo should taste. Overall, only come here if you’re desperate for Korean food. Note: expect slow service all around, when waiting to order, receiving food, and getting check. They are understaffed and only have one waitress for the entire restaurant

My fiancé and I had lunch here a day ago and it was amazing. I had the spicy pork fried rice and she had chicken fried rice. I was very pleased with the meal and the service. If you love great fried rice this is the place to go, hands down.

Interior décor, music, service, food, everything is carefully done with great attention to details. And it is affordable. I had a bowl of spicy seafood noodle soup and spicy salmon roll and they were both excellent. I am usually highly skeptical of generic Asian restaurants that serve everything, but this place concentrates on mostly Korean food plus sushi, both of which it did very well. The ambiance reminded me of casual but cool restaurants in Boston, NYC, or DC — you can bring your date here and she/he will be impressed. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular.

I should give this place a 4 but I am giving it a 5 for being the only Korean food in the area. Hahaha. Everywhere I travel, I always try to get Korean food and I am just starting, again, to write reviews. I lucked out in Winchester finding this place… I have a slight head cold and wanted tofu soup — soon du bu. I ordered the soon du bu extra spicy and the spicy pork with rice extra spicy. Feed a cold! Haha. :) I also got a side of kimchi mmmmmmm! Also ordered hot tea and a plum wine. The plum wine is pretty sweet in case you want to try it. I really wanted to try the pajeon(kimchi pancake) but they took it off the menu. T_T The server said their most popular dish is the phở!!! Hahaha. If you look at the menu, they have a wide variety of Asian dishes. Sushi, phở, bibimbap, bulgogi, Chinese Korean noodle soup… Of course I wish they were a strictly Korean restaurant but it is interesting they have a variety of foods. Anyways, I will be back to try the dolsot bibimbap(sizzling rice and veggies in a hot pot — can add meat if you want.) All my friends in Houston love phở but I guess it is the Seoul-ful part of me that always wants soon du bu if it is there. Hehehehehe. Definitely give this place a try. ^_^ I sat here the whole time wondering if it were Korean owned like some reviews said. Then some young guy came in and spoke Korean to the guy at the front. So yeah… Korean owned. Another plus. :) Will be back! :)

Great food and great service! I love the Bento Box and the Stone Pot. Small dinning area so sometimes it can be quite crowded. It also shares a parking lot with Buffalo Wild Wings so parking can be a little sparse. We have parked around the back of the building and even across the street. Definitely a must try!

Craving for good Asian food in the middle of Wimchester? Mr. Noodle and Rice will scratch that itch. Korean-owned with great homemade type Korean dishes in healthy portions. My favorites are the galbi(marinated short ribs) and the dumpling soup. Delicious! Trending more toward Japanese cuisine? Sushi/sashimi is fresh as well. The phở is good as well if you’re feeling like Vietnamese. So yes it’s Asian fusion but quality eats!

3.5 is an accurate score for this little hidden gem. Their food was very tasty and I recommend their sushi and Phở which was very good.

As someone who grew up and went to college in California, I’m no stranger to excellent sushi, and I can say with 100% certainty that the sushi at Mr. Noodle and Rice is among the best I’ve ever had. It’s located in a strip mall style shopping center but don’t let appearances deceive you because there’s an awesome sushi place inside. The rolls are reasonably priced and the fish is incredibly fresh. The service and ambience are great as well. They have bottles and cans of several Japanese beers(Kirin, Asahi, and Sapporo) which is always nice as some of those aren’t easily available in the Winchester area. I’d recommend getting the sushi special, as it’s kind of a «chef’s choice» sushi platter that has a lot of items on it that you wouldn’t normally order.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times, but it was the first time that I ate here after over a year of not eating here. Each time has been very good. I never knocked the place for poor food. The portions are big, the prices are fair, and the place is very clean. Today, I ordered the Sumai, as well as a chicken and beef phở(you can order all 3 meats(chicken, beef, and shrimp), but it runs about $ 12, if you get one of the meats it is a lot cheaper, but I wanted to see what it’d all would taste like. First off, the Sumai is 6 small pieces of shrimp dumpling on top of a ginger salad. It is all very good, a very nice appetizer and does what it is supposed to do, make you hungry and ready for your main course(it is easy to want more). When the phở arrived, it came in a HUGE bowl, with a nice helping of noodles, beef, chicken, Brussels sprouts, and 2 jalapeño peppers. Needless to say, it was all terrific. The meats were all very tasty and were fresh, the noodles were perfect and were not skimpy, and the jalapenos, while, well, you know how jalapenos are, they didn’t ruin the soup. I recommend eating the two first just to get them out of the way. I am happy I ordered the phở, as well as the other items I’ve ordered(I’ve also had a Yaki udon, and a seafood soup, all of which were great themselves, but the phở beats them all. I’ll be coming back on a nice cold day and just eat this non-stop. A very nice recommend for Korean food in the area.

This restaurant is under new ownership(in 2013) and is our favorite for Korean dishes in Winchester. The sushi is fine, but the best dishes here are any of the Korean selections. The stone pot is particularly good, all the rice dishes are delicious with fresh, tasty vegetables. It is a small, family run business and the staff consists of one sushi chef, one kitchen chef, one to two servers, and the owner.
