Firefly Café & Bakery is passionate about providing our community with regionally sourced craft coffee, homemade soups, salads and sandwiches in addition to a variety of made-​from-​scratch baked goods. Our private room with media capabilities and Wi-​Fi access is perfect for your next meeting. Firefly also offers drop-​off catering for offsite meetings and special events.

In addition to serving delicious food, the café and bakery provides adults with disabilities an opportunity for vocational and personal growth as well as social interaction and a sense of purpose.

History

Established in 2015.

For many years, John Brauer, CEO of NW Works, dreamed of opening a full service café and bakery in Winchester.

Why a café & bakery?

In a past life (or what seemed like one) John started two cafes in San Francisco that employed individuals with mental health disabilities. These two enterprises were responsible for training and employing over a hundred individuals with disabilities over the lifespan of the businesses. These two vehicles proved to be a great launching pad for providing real world training in a field in which there is continual need for qualified applicants. Simply put: there are real jobs out there for folks interested in working in the food services industry.

Why not name it NW Works Café?
