Winchester is very lucky to house the most unbelievable dance studio around. The instructors are class acts and are highly ranked in competitive dance. We took lessons from Brad and easily learned how to Swing, Cha-​cha and West Coast Swing. He was kind, patient and encouraging. The owners, Ching and Andre are amazing, warm and kindhearted. They make all who walk in their doors feel welcome and talented. The vibe in the studio is so positive and so warm. It makes you want to keep coming back. I highly recommend Firebeat for social dancing or competitive dancing.

I have been teaching Piloxing at Firebeat since July 2015, their fitness classes are upcoming and classes are growing. The Firebeat team is great and make you feel right at home when you walk in. They are always smiling and willing to help us the instructors 100% on how to make our classes better. After my Piloxing class that is every Tuesday evening at 6pm, they offer Zumba. so our clients get to have fun and burn fun calories. We laugh and have fun while working out. I highly recommend Firebeat for their new and upcoming fitness classes.

I discovered the studio last year when I started taking fitness classes and I started taking ballroom dance classes this year and was really pleased. The teachers are very committed and love what they do, professional and are very interested in the progress made by their students. The classes are small in size which helps to get a lot of personal attention. Within a week I already saw progress and was able to do the moves on my own. Great studio, I would highly recommend. It has a great design and lots of space.

I have been going to Firebeat since June of 2015 and it was the best decision I could have ever made. This studio is not only gorgeous, but the staff is completely welcoming and supportive. I did not feel like I was a wallet as I have in so many other studios. Ching and Andrey are true professionals — they take personal and individual interest in each of their students to make sure they are getting valued dance education and FUN — their love of dance is infectious and their care for their studio and the students who frequent the establishment is top-​notch. Brad is an incredible, empathetic teacher with the perfect blend of fun and toughness where it’s needed. I have seen him work with students of all levels with the same amount patience and attention.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The dance studio is among the most gorgeous and spacious that I have ever seen. I have been dancing for nearly 30 years (not ballroom, but other styles)…so I have seen a lot of spaces. I was so impressed. The space was very clean and neat. They also have a parking lot which is not always something you find.
Easy to find, well signed to get there… oh there is a café in the lobby… how cool is that? I will definitely grab a beverage or a snack some night before a lesson.
Our instructor was nice and funny. Made us feel comfortable and worked in our comfort zone. I look forward to taking more lessons at Firebeat!

I came to Firebeat as a wallflower with a pathological fear of Latin dancing. In less than two years, the amazing instruction, nurturing and genuine care transformed me into a woman with passion for dance who competes, places well and, most importantly, now has a new creative outlet in this beautiful art form :)
I have studied the ballroom dance industry as a business, so please believe me when I tell you. The instructors here are the genuine article. They aren’t here for the money. They’re here because they are Artists with a capital A, and want to share their joy with the world around them. And that means, they’ll get you to your dancing goal efficiently — be it choreographing a wedding dance, becoming a champion or just being comfortable enough to get yourself out on the floor — with the least money possible from your end. And they will give you so much more besides.
There are currently four ballroom dance instructors at the studio: Andre, Ching, Brad and Anna. I have worked with each of them, and each is wonderful. Their true passion is Latin dance, but they are wonderful at teaching smooth /​International as well.
Andre is the studio’s lifeblood. He is a world-​class Latin dance champion and, as someone else said here, the «tough Russian with the heart of a teddy bear». His technique is the foundation of the studio’s teaching methods, and the main reason why Firebeat students place so well in competitions.
Ching is the studio’s soul. Andre’s student and now his dance partner, Ching also has a doctorate in neuroscience. This helps her explain difficult concepts in extremely accessible ways to her students. In addition, Ching fosters a real community at Firebeat, making sure that the atmosphere is constructive, the students are motivated, support each other, and that we never lose sight of dance as a pilgrimage that we undertake together to become better human beings.
Brad is the studio’s rhythm, his level-​headedness and fun personality guiding the studio and students through triumphs, failures and everything in between. Because of his genuine investment in his students, Brad was the first to see potential in me, even when I did not see it in myself. Then, through a balance of perfectionism, patience, tact, intuition, and a splash of fun, he steadily guided me to where I am today.
Anna is the studio’s angel. Her sweet temper, love for her art and care for her students shows us all by example what it means to be a truly happy and beautiful person, despite all circumstances. She is great with beginners and has lots of passion for the smooth /​International dances (waltz, foxtrot, tango, etc.)
I am VERY glad I came here. Being able to continue lessons at Firebeat was a major factor in my decision to stay in Boston after business school.

We just finished up a month of practices with Mr. Bradford for our wedding ceremony next month, wanting to add a little flair to our reception instead of the standard slow dancing that can bore your guests. Neither of us have ever done any dancing beyond a nightclub and were as green as can be. Our instructor was extremely patient, informative and taught us the basics to the somewhat medium level moves. We were even offered a free class where six different dances were introduced, from swing to rumba.
The studio itself is rather modern and spacious, apparently 7000 sq. feet. There are nice bathrooms, changing locking room area, a water fountain for filling up your water bottle and a smoothie/​coffee area if you could get there early enough to find it open. I loved the late hours and how we were able to book instruction at 9:00 at night so I didn’t need to worry if I was working late, getting home in time to eat and then heading out again for our session.
Ching owns it with her husband and she was very welcoming both over email communication to start and then at the front desk upon our arrival. We were a bit nervous at first as to what to expect and she put us at ease. We are already talking about returning after the wedding to learn a ton more because we still feel like infants on the dance floor.
My only issue with the studio if I had one would be to put wedding couples in the private studio in the back. It was often intimidating to watch the professionals around us while we were extreme beginners. I was somewhat embarrassed that we could be seen making mistake after mistake for something that was likely very simple to others in the room. We had instruction one night in the back during the free class and I didn’t feel nearly as self conscious.
I’m not sure what brought you to read my review but from a newbie to someone who has been dancing all their life, Firebeat and their staff have something to offer dancers at every single level imaginable.

My wife, Liz, and I recently got hitched in July and did dance lessons with the infamous Brad Lowe. I have to give Brad a lot of credit for taking on this challenge considering the odds against him!!! I guess I should preface this by saying I’m 6’3″, at the time 250lbs, and we wanted to do a swing dance and foxtrot in 7 weeks.
We honestly had no idea what we were doing. I for one didn’t know what a foxtrot or swing dance really was, and I still can’t count the rhythm of a song. Brad introduced us to dance by helping us explore all our options and how each best paired with songs that we love. From there, we had 10 or so lessons that helped us to learn and get comfortable in the routine.
The swing dance was a HUGE hit at the wedding!!! We weren’t sure we would be able to pull it off, but somehow we made it without a face plaint! I’m glad that it all worked out, but even more pumped that we have a new activity to do together :)
Throughout the entire process, Liz and I had an absolute blast. You wouldn’t believe how much fun it is to dance with your significant other. We looked forward to it every week! Brad had a lot to do with this too, he is one special guy who knows how to have a good time, even when the routine wasn’t working out quite right. We ended up becoming good friends and invited him to the wedding. He came and put on a show that people would pay money for!!! Brad isn’t the only one either; the entire staff was incredibly friendly and a joy to be around.
Now that we are back from the honeymoon, and finally settling back into the real world, we plan to get right back to doing what we came to love.

We used Firebeat Dancesport Studios for our wedding dance. Brad made the experience enjoyable and helped us through the process. Brad reviewed our music and gave us advice on tempo and editing to make sure that it worked well. Brad’s optimism and sense of humor allowed us to relax and discover our abilities as dancing novices. At the end of the lessons we felt confident in our first dance well prepared. The Firebeat Dancesport team also helped us with other dances for our wedding. The studios is well organized with ample easy access parking, café and immaculate bathrooms and studios.

Firebeat is a great dance studio. They have so many friendly instructors willing to teach all types of dance styles. They have classes for beginners to much more advance classes for experienced students/​dancers. The studio itself has multiple dance floors, so plenty of space for individual lessons and group lessons to be conducted simultaneously. Nice floors and nice sound systems. A very modern studio.
A few weeks back I recently got Married. I convinced my future husband to take wedding first dance lessons. I come from a musical family. Mothers a classical pianist teacher and Father an Opera teacher. This was very important to me. To say my then future Husband couldn’t dance is an understatement. He couldn’t even do two steps before tripping over me or himself! We were referred by a friend to Brad one of the studio instructors. He first gave us a free lesson. He was very friendly and attentive to what we (I) were trying to accomplish for our first dance. It was Frankie Valli, Can’t take my eyes off you. We took 10 plus lessons with him. With his experience he helped us create a wonderful first dance. We did multiple dance moves, including several dips and my husband picking me up in the air twice. My Wedding party is still talking about it (some even say it was better than dancing with stars). They almost all to a T say it was the best first dance they ever saw. We had a Newport RI wedding in a beautiful venue looking over the ocean and what more people remember the most is our first dance.
We couldn’t ask for a better instructor. He also worked with multiple assistance to help us create our dance. I still can’t believe what he accomplished with my husband. He was honestly the worst dancer I «ever» saw. With the help of Brad and all Firebeat instructors they accomplished the impossible, and helped us create beautiful memorable moments for our lives.

My husband and I took seven lessons from Brad at Firebeat Dancesport Studios. Brad helped us choreograph and perfect our first wedding dance. He was enthusiastic and supportive of our somewhat non-​traditional song choices (a Stevie Wonder and Beyonce medley)! Brad edited our music and emailed it to us. He even wrote us a handwritten letter to express how much he enjoyed working with us.
The studio itself is very cool looking – it’s the third floor of an old firehouse. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The owner, Ching, really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. During our last lesson before the wedding, the staff went above and beyond to make our last rehearsal feel like the real thing by dimming the lights and providing an audience.
My husband and I are beginners on the dance floor, so I can’t really speak to how well Firebeat instructs more advanced dancers. However, if you are looking for a flexible, fun atmosphere to create your first wedding dance, I highly recommend this studio. Our first dance was one of my favorite moments of the wedding, and we have Brad to thank!

Firebeat is a phenomenal studio! The entire staff genuinely is passionate about dance and will help you reach whatever your dance goals are. I cannot say enough great things about Andre, Tatiana, and Ching.
Even after being at the studio for some time now I’m surprised with how far the staff goes out of their way to ensure we look professional at comps, have personalized choreography, and generally are achieving our goals.

this is a studio as great as I can ask for. As a dance studio, it not only has the best latin coaches in the boston area. but also it brings family warmth to the people who are enthusiastic about dancing. I find it a perfect place to learn real dancing. the coaches are not only here to teach you the steps and figures, they really put effort in developing students’ technique and helping them improve. most importantly, they are nice people and great to hang out with too. The owners/​instructors at Firebeat are some of the most talented dancers and coaches I’ve ever worked with, and they helped me and my partner grow tremendously as dancers. What stood out most at Firebeat, though, was the personal commitment of Andrei, Aga, and Ching (the staff) to the success of all their dancers. This manifest itself in the care and attention from the coaches during classes and lessons, in the warm and encouraging studio atmosphere and available practice space, in the staff coming to competitions to give us advice and cheer us on, and in the personal relationships that they had with the students (and the relationship of us students with each other).

Firebeat dancers love their art and it shows. Our coaches are not only really exceptionally talented and very experienced dancers, but they are also great teachers. They invent individualize choreographies that not only emphasize the strengths of individual dancer, but arrange the figures so that they fit together nicely in the big picture. I have been training at Firebeat for more than two years now and I’ve improved so much technically and artistically. Our coaches and the the fellow dancers there are very friendly and supportive. The studio space and ambiance are pleasant and welcoming. The floor sprung and is well-​lit. Feels great to dance on. One side of the wall is all mirror. My partner and I come to the studio for practice even when we don’t have a lesson.
