I don’t always know how to order at new places and I’m a very picky and unsophisticated eater. This place has a big menu and I have a hard time deciding sometimes. Just when I was feeling lost, the gentleman behind the fabulous counter full of fresh meats and salads quickly recognized my bewilderment and rescued me with a smile. Besides great friendly service the food is just awesome. I never review but I had to get the word out. Go here for lunch, deli meats, breads, rolls, dinner, whatever your pleasure. Try the Chicken Parm sub, its the best I’ve ever had

Really like this place. Very good sandwiches and a great selection. So glad it’s only a few blocks away is it’s a great place to pick up a quick dinner.

D’Agostino’s Chicken Noodle soup with the raviolis is amazing. This soup is my only cold cure! Additionally the meatball sub and hot pastrami are fantastic. Don’t waste your time going to subway or some chain. D’Agostino’s is the sandwich place to go!

The only place I get my subs from! The chicken salad is my favorite– always so fresh and light. When my family goes on a day trip, we always stop and pick up cold cuts/subs for our picnic lunch. The staff is friendly and the shop is always busy. Always a good sign!

I’ve eaten a lot of sandwiches in my day and i’d have to say this place is tops for my fav ham & swiss. Everything is fresh and tasty. The bread is what makes the sandwich though… fresh w/great texture /consistency. Their hots are excellent. Macaroni salad very good. Excellent choice for grabbing lunch then sitting across the street @ park to watch world go by.

I had a very good sub here. The staff was a bit gruff and there’s nowhere to sit if you would like to eat there. We ended up eating in the car since we didn’t know. But the food is great!

I frequently drive 40 minutes out of my way for one of their pastrami subs. Pastrami Swiss Coleslaw and Thousand Island FTW!!!

Nothing over the top here. No subs loaded with the kitchen sink, just good simple subs hoagies grinders whatever you prefer to call them. Good bread quality products(boars head). They also have some prepared foods… I haven’t veered from an order of a sandwich and a bag of chips but im sure they are quality as well. ps you can also get your cold cuts on a bulkie roll, that’s a plus in my book. Overall this place is small simple but great

I love that they offer whole wheat sub rolls. Their subs are amazing. Fresh bread and their Boar’s Head cold cuts are sliced to order.

The Best. Subs. Ever. Anything you get here is awesome. My faves are turkey with spicy mustard, lettuce, hots, tomatoes and extra pickles or the«Julia Special» that I made famous back in ’87. I’m looking at you, Lauren. Same people working there forever, and they know you, know what you like and the service is quick and friendly. Ask for extra napkins. Eat across the street on the grass and watch Chesterville go by. If you want to impress a date, come here. Don’t go here if you’re avoiding anyone from the 1890. You will inevitably run in to that person, and prolly their mother, too. So. So. So. GOOD.

Their meatbull sub is hands-down the best one I’ve ever had. The service is great if you know how their system works and your sub always comes hot and delicious. It also employs a lot of high school kids so there are some smart asses but for the most part everyone is really nice and patient. But God… I can’t say enough about their meatball subs!

Great customer service with superior fresh cold cuts and subs. If you haven’t been here then you need to make a trip. They have 2 stores, Arlington and Winchester, and both are great.

As it’s known by locals, Dag’s is a staple of Winchester and the same for their other location in Arlington. They have a standard selection of deli meats and subs. The Cranberry Apple Chicken Salad is awesome. I have a love/hate their chicken parm, in once sense it is pretty tasty, on the other I hate the way it is prepared. Cooked freshly but are always finished off in the microwave. It is a guilty pleasure.

I go here way too often… The sandwiches and pre-made food are simply the best… The staff are kind and helpful and they’ve never got my order wrong… Highly recommend for lunch and a sit out on the common on a nice day…

I have loved D’Agostinos subs since in high school. They are the best! I crave them and this is a first stop when I’m home to visit. Recently got 2 catering trays for a party and couldn’t have been more pleased. They were devoured!(Chicken Parmesan and Florentine shells). Fresh and delicious. All I had to add was a salad and bread

My husband and I recently moved to Winchester and have been trying out some of the local eateries. We recently decided to get dinner at D’Agostino’s Deli. It was great. Everyone was friendly and the food was very good. I got a seafood salad sub and my husband got capicola and cheese. They have a large selection of subs as well as pasta dishes. They also have a small Italian market where you can buy grocery items and meats. It is right around the corner from us and I think we will be visiting often!

In my opinion… It’s the best Italian sub ever… don’t even retort. Hold off on the mayo and ask for«loaded Italian, no mayo but with oil & seasoning».

D’ags isn’t just a long strip of deli counter behind a tiny storefront, it’s much more than that. Damn do they know what they’re doing. Their Boar’s Head cold cuts are so unbelievably fresh and delicious, and their subs are a true hallmark of this small town. Naturally, they’re a bit more expensive than Stop & Shop, but it’s completely worth it. They have a huge customer base that helps them fly through their stock so everything’s guaranteed to be fresh all the time. D’ags is the epitome of childhood in Winchester, and I think everyone from here would agree. Screw the BK Lounge, I would rush over to D’ags on half days to get my favorite Italian sub with everything, extra hots, and a bag of Cape Cod chips on the side. And I still get excited when my Ma throws me a $ 20 to go pick up lunch for the fam. The service is as great as the food. I might not know any of their names, and they might not know mine, but everytime I go in there they seem to recognize me and ask how my parents, etc. are doing. The only reason I can’t give my beloved D’ags 5 stars is because I’m not crazy about their sub rolls. I wish they were a bit, um, crustier? Is that the word? They tend to get soggy if you don’t eat them right away, so plan accordingly! Other than that, D’ags is a solid deli run by genuinely nice people that deserve your business. And they have Wasabi Peas! In case you haven’t seen it, check out Ralph D’agostino in the recent Ford Transit commercial! I thought it was pretty cool to see him on TV:

I grew up in Winchester and have been eating subs and food from D’Agostino’s my entire life. Even though I live in DC now, whenever I’m home I make it a point to stop by and see Ralph or make sure my mom has some fresh cold cuts at home. The service and operation at this place are spectacular even when it is mobbed during lunch and on the weekends. What makes Dags is the Boars Head cold cuts and the bread from Piantedosi. If you are looking for something hot, while you won’t find a ton of hot items on the menu(mostly cold subs), the meatballs are unreal. I spent my first two years in DC looking for a comparable place to Dags and was unsuccessful. I finally gave up and settled for the subpar places they have.
