Going on my 4^th year with Bavarian, and they always takes care of their customers. I’ve recommended many other BMW owners to Bavarian, and they’ve had the same experience.

Really wanted to like this place. Went twice for minor repairs and had significant issues each time. They might seem cheaper than the dealer but be careful — when they break stuff you wind up paying for it. Won’t go back because I honestly don’t trust them.

This was my first time going to Bavarian Performance Group based on a recommendation from my neighbor. I brought in my 2007 328xi on a Friday afternoon about 3PM. I had problems starting the car. By 4:30 Dave called me back saying they determined I needed a new starter. He scheduled me for the repairs on Monday and the car was ready by mid-​afternoon. The final price was slightly less than the estimate. Great Service!

Highly recommended! Installed my new dinan exhaust in under an hour. They are professional and knowledgeable. I hope to go back soon to install a dinan tune.

Shopped around available DINAN specialists in my area before committing to an upgrade for my car. Andy and the folks at Bavarian were by far the most helpful and upfront, even without me committing to get the work done there. Once there, they took the time to answer all of my questions regarding my vehicle, even explaining to me why I shouldn’t do certain things to the car. Easily could have had me come in to do these things and get my money, but paradoxically have earned my future business, and that of my fellow enthusiasts, by providing me with courteous, honest advice.

10/​15/​2014 Kevin Grieco Just popped in yesterday for a minor tweak (CDV removal) and I immediately felt like I was in good hands. They found an oil leak while doing the work, and provided pictures and detailed explanations as to the issue. I’m glad to have found such a straight-​shooting shop so close to home.

The people at Bavarian are patient and honest. The shop couldn’t be cleaner and more welcoming. I would recommend to anyone.

The Go-​To Place for BMWs!
I own a X3 and with the roads in Boston, the thing takes a beating and there’s nothing I can do about it. BPG is the only place I will take my car as I’ve been screwed by other places before by places that claim they service luxury cars. They tell it to you straight and give you multiple options for servicing your car. Dave knows about every bolt and button in my car and I always trust his word as it’s never «steered» me wrong before (car pun).

This is an update to my previous review. After a phone conversation with the service manager, I was later contacted by the owner John. As far as I can tell, he felt bad about me leaving disappointed, and he explained to me that it was an unfortunate mistake. I am not getting into detail here but everything made sense to me when he made an explanation. I think under normal circumstances, this is not how they operate, something like this would not happen usually. I guess I was just out of luck that day.
I was not really looking to get a refund, but BPG even refunded me the diagnosis charge and offered me free oil change. I thought it was pretty generous to make up a mistake. I even told him that I would not remove my review on Unilocal,and it was too much work for me to get there even for $ 100 oil change. He e-​mailed me and said he refunded the money anyway. I thought it was a nice gesture.
I was also told that their appointment system will be updated in order prevent something like this happen again.
I have been to other mechanics before, and i know how hard it is to find a mechanic who will accept a mistake and apologize for it. For their effort to satisfy customers and taking the responsibility to make things right, I will give them 4 stars. With my initial review, I am averaging it to 3 stars.

I had been due for an oil change on my bimmer and after calling several European and BMW indy’s in the area, BPG turns out to be the least expensive @ $ 91, so I made an appointment. When I arrived, I made a last minute request to have the air filter changed as well and Dave accommodated the request with no problems even though he was fully booked. I think it’s safe to say that BPG will be my default indy shop for my future maintenance.

I’m a very frequent Unilocal user but never felt the need to write a single review until today.
If your BMW is out of warranty and you are not sure where to go, I guarantee you — Bavarian Performance Group in Winchester is THE place to go.
I’ve been going to Bavarian Performance Group for the past 2 years for repairs and their service has been nothing but phenomenal. Dave, their service rep, is very knowledgeable, personable and will go out of his way to answer your questions. Andy, their expert technician, is a certified BMW tech and has done an awesome job on all of my repairs.
I went there this past week with a very rare engine problem. They gave me a diagnosis and the part itself was $ 1200. When I drove away, the problem was still persistent and they looked at the car again. They found out it was another problem and gave me a refund for the first repair ($ 1200 part and $ 200 in labor). On top of that, I was able to keep the part for free!
Needless to say, they stand behind their work and will make sure you leave happy. If you want QUALITY BMW care without paying exorbitant amounts at a dealership, Bavarian Performance Group is the place to go.

I’m so happy I found this place! Everyone is soo much nicer than at Herb Chambers. They actually have time to talk to me, and they don’t talk down to me, unlike *some* people at that other place. ahem. This is the first time I’ve ever paid *less* than I was originally quoted for repairs. I will definitely be going back in the future.

I’ve been going here for the past year. Dave has always been very professional and extremely knowledgable about BMWs. I never feel like I’m being sold anything I don’t need nor do I miss the dealer service experience. My only regrets are 1) the price. BMWs are just expensive to maintain, period. 2) They aren’t open on the weekend so if your car isn’t ready by 5pm Friday you will not be able to pick it up until Monday.

I just purchased my first BMW last November, and had a pre-​purchase inspection done at Bavarian. Being new to BMWs, I wanted someone with years of experience with the car I was about to buy to check it out and let me know what to expect. I was thoroughly satisfied with the report they provided me with, and their assurance that the car was in great shape for its age. They were right, and I haven’t had to go back since, but when the car does need some type of repair that’s too big for me to handle on my own, there will be no question as to which shop to choose.
It’s my firm belief that its far less costly to pay a bit more to a more experienced mechanic (especially one who works almost exclusively on your make of car), than a bit less to someone who may end up cutting corners, or unknowingly make a mistake. These guys definitely live and breath BMW. Just from talking to the shop manager and mechanic who inspected my car, I know my car is in good and able hands with Bavarian.

Bavarian Performance Group has taken fantastic care of our BMWs and MINI. They are up front about costs and expert with these cars. I’ve delt with many different shops and have settled on them for the past 2 years and will stay with them as they’ve earned my trust.

BPG is THE place to go if you don’t feel like getting ripped off by the major BMW dealers in the Greater Boston area (I’m talking about you, Herb Chambers).
On multiple accounts, the staff at BPG have gone above and beyond what any mechanic would do. Plus their prices are super reasonable.
Oil changes at BPG at 85 dollars, which seems like a lot. Especially since I’m pretty hand with a wrench, but then I started factoring in the cost of synthetic long life approved oil (6.5qts ~ $ 50), oil filter (~8), assorted tools that you’re bound to not have (~20 dollars for a 36 mm socket) and your time and bruised knuckles mean that these oil changes are an absolute bargain.
When I brought my car in for an inspection, they discovered a worn driveshaft bushing and replaced it for me. However, the new part they got from their supplier was defective and the problem got worse. They couldn’t figure it out and ended up changing my axles and driveshaft to fix the problem. When they finally figured out it was the new bushing, they footed the bill for the new driveshaft and axles and even offered to install a performance differential for FREE! (usually about 800 dollars).
Another time, their computers were down for a bit and they couldn’t print up an invoice for me. They told me that my oil change was on the house. I had to CONVINCE John (the main service advisor) to just take my credit card and that I didn’t need a receipt.
My last oil change, their reset my airbag light for me for free without even asking. A normal dealership would have charged about 150 dollars.
These guys are the epitome of a good shop. The guys that work there are very cool and you can always shoot the shit with them about cars, business or whatever’s on your mind. The techs are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about BMWs and most importantly, they do business the right way. They make sure you’ll go back to them for years, I know I will.
