Awesome place to watch a movie with the kids. A real Texas treasure. Lots of other kiddos to keep yours busy.

There are few places like this left in the world. The Corral is a step back in time to a simpler way of life. First run movies in an open air sit down drive in type theater. It is a wonderful experience. As much about the movie as it is about community. You will never make friends waiting for a movie to begin at a multiplex. You can’t avoid it at the Corral. Hoorah!

I absolutely love the Corral Theater! It is an integral part of the Wimberley scene. Mary is amazing, the movies are awesome, the setting is great!

This place is excellent! Can’t really top a cheap outdoor movie theater that’s been there for as long as this place has. You can bring your own food, beer etc. If you go make sure to bring extra mosquito spray and a comfortable chair and you’ll be set.

There is no place in the world like this place. It’s a small outdoor theater run by volunteers. There is a small concession stand and the movies don’t always run as smoothly as they should due to amateur projectionists. But, holy moly, you don’t even care. It’s an experience. And I am absolutely convinced that this tiny little theater secretly harbors magic powers. When seeing The Dark Knight, the sky surrounding the screen was swarming with small bats. The sky was creepy and I felt like I was watching the movie from inside the Batcave. When seeing Ponyo, it rained. POURED, in fact. The movie continued to play while the volunteers passed out trash bags for people to cover themselves with. It was AMAZING! We were watching an animation about storming and flooding in the middle of a rainstorm! I cannot visit Wimberley without catching whatever movie this place happens to be showing that night. If you’re in town, it is a must experience.

This place, open May-Oct 1st is awesome! So awesome that it is worth the drive to Wimberley. A cool little, walk-in, outdoor theater that shows FIRSTRUN movies, has a wooden shack for a concession stand and what looks to be old wooden planks nailed together and painted white as the movie screen. You can bring in your own wine, drinks and food which is way cool. The Corral Theater reminds me of something that the town in the movie Footloose would ban because it’s just too fun. Word of warning: Bring your own chairs lest you be stuck in the«back 40» on the wooden bleachers with an invisible sign around your neck that says«I’m new here.» If you are over 16 and /or aren’t there to make out with your significant other then you don’t want to hang here. And you cannot«blanket it» unless you want to spend the evening staring at someone’s hiney who wisely grabbed a chair provided by the Corral. Really great time and good clean fun!
