Cabins at Smith Creek

You have to go to the realty company to get the keys offsite of the cabin. The location is a little bit out of Wimberely. Compared to other cabins I had researched in the area this one beats them. I had an amazing vacation with my sweet heart during the week. There is a hot tub and grill. There is a visitor log/​diary from previous visitors and there is nothing but amazing things to say about the place. I manage to forget a bag, checked out, they were nice enough to let me go back and get it, which goes against their policy. I have to say I fell in love with the place and plan to go again in the future.

I read the first (and only) review and thought it was for the wrong property, so I discounted it’s validity. However, after staying at the Cabins at Smith Creek (in Wimberley) this past weekend, I realize I should have heeded the warning!
My wife and I stayed in the Clear Water Log Home this past weekend and it was a horrible experience! We were originally quoted a price of $ 185/​night when we booked the room. We should have known it was going to be a bad experience when they called back a day later to tell us that they had made a mistake and were going to charge us an additional $ 10/​night. When we arrived, we found the cabin to be quite nice and situated right on the creek. Beautiful setting! However, that was the best of the weekend. You can, indeed, hear the traffic on FM 3237 at all times of the day, even though the Clear Water Log home is the furthest cabin from road on the property. The biggest problem was that the hot tub (which was the main reason my wife and I wanted to stay here) was broken. The property management was unphased about this and did little to fix the problem and actually got rude on the phone when we called about it (direct quote from the property management to my wife on the phone: «lady, you are out of control»). Basically, the attitude was «sometimes things break.» If we wanted to stay somewhere without a hot tub, we could have found a place for at least $ 100 cheaper! To underscore the mentality of the owners/​managers, there are little signs dotting the cabin to warn you of additional charges… if you leave firewood on the porch, you will be charged a $ 25 restackign fee… if you don’t pick up after your pet, you’ll be charged… if you don’t take out your trash when you leave, you’ll be charged… All of this was on top of the «Service Fee» that we were charged to stay here.
Do yourself a favor — DO NOT STAY HERE!
