Specialties
The Academy is open year-round and offers an extended summer program. Our age-appropriate curriculum, based on the Vaganova method of traditional classical ballet, allows all students to build a strong technical foundation should they wish to pursue a dance career or simply just enjoy dance!
The Academy also offers Creative Movement, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Yoga, and Ballroom classes.
History
Established in 2012.
Miriam Stewart is the Academy Director and brings over 30 years of classical ballet experience to Monroe County. Trained in southern California, Ms. Stewart has danced professionally and taught in Germany, and the U.S. before moving to Wisconsin.
Kim Nofsinger is an instructor teaching modern, jazz, yoga, and ballroom classes at the Academy. He is also the Artistic Director of Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre, which he founded in 2001. Mr. Nofsinger has an MFA in Performance and Choreography from Arizona State University.
