Hawk Photography

My Wife and I booked Hawk Photography after viewing several of his wedding albums, well in advance of our wedding. They say that you learn from your mistakes and this was one of the biggest mistakes we ever made. When we scheduled with Hawk we also booked engagement pictures with him at a nice park just down the road from his studio. After calling to go and shoot our engagement pictures a few months later, he stated that he would not take our pictures anywhere other then the «garden» in his back yard! He refused to take our pictures at the park (which he recommended). We had to pay another photographer to take our engagement pics.
A few months before our wedding we discovered (by someone that had a similar experience as us) that Daryl Hawk was not the one taking the photos at our wedding, that he uses sub-​contracted photographers to do it for less and doesn’t tell you. This was the truth! He admited it only after we confronted him on it. We had never met this person nor have we heard about them until we asked, and we never saw any of this other photographer’s pictures. Daryl Hawk assured us that he was our wedding photographer but never planned to be there. Behind our backs he assigned someone else to do the job without telling us, hoping we never found out until we paid him our money. In the end we cancelled on him because he lied to us the whole time and misrepresented his services. The only time he called us was when we owed him money. After paying several installments before the wedding, he took $ 3,600 from us for doing absolutely nothing! That was hard earned money that we will never get back. I would never recommend this photographer to anyone and would strongly suggest that you find an honest photographer elsewhere. There are plenty of very good photographers out there, this is NOT one of them. Please do not make the same mistake my wife and I made. We had a bad feeling from the begining and should have listened to our gut.
