Punctual, professional, meticulous about keeping our home clean during the sweeping of our chimney. Took the time to explain the different types of hazards that could occur and were very considerate when asked to check the outside air vent to the fireplace. They removed a bird nest and did so without asking for asking for additional compensation. First class service. I can see why they’ve been in business so long.

We have called and left messages no less than 7 times and have yet to get a returned phone call. This has been over a month of calling and calling.

This company is all about integrity and pride in workmanship.
My experience with Wertz & Co is not exactly a traditional Customer/​Service provider experience, but they certainly left me with a very positive impression. Let me explain…
I live in a row home in Wilmington, with an access driveway behind our block of 5 homes. My home is at the entrance to the driveway. One day last week I saw some box trucks parked in the driveway and folks were working on my neighbor’s home at the opposite end of the row. The next day my neighbor mentioned to me that one of the trucks had torn down the phone line over the driveway when it pulled in, but they repaired it — upon later inspection, I saw that the siding was also damaged. He told me that the workers would call me just in case… since my house phone is only for outgoing call emergencies, they would never get me (the ringer is off), so I called them.
Supervisor Bob told me that he had looked up my number, but got no answer, so he was happy that I called him. He said they were very sorry that happened and that they would look into it and get right back to me. About an hour later I was called by Field Supervisor Danny, who said that he was at my home and it looked like a simple repair. He then asked if they could repair it at their cost, saying that they would do the best they could to match the greater than 10 year old siding. I told him to do it.
About 2 hours later Danny called me back and said they were done. He said they had to buy and install a new corner section, and it looked like a perfect match. When I looked at it later that day, he was right — it was perfect.
I am thrilled with the professionalism, integrity and workmanship of this company. Not only did they immediately work to fix the issue, they ended up spending at least $ 150 in parts and labor — for someone who is not even a customer! Fantastic! When I am ready for chimney, siding or roof work, Wertz & Co will be my first and only call to get the job done right.
