The Bento Box is the culmination of Asian street food. The menu offers food from Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, and China. It menu is designed to encourage sharing. The main focus of the restaurant is on the sushi bar.

At The Bento Box we want to provide each and every guest with a comfortable, inviting environment that gives them the feeling of being a frequent guest at the Bento Box whether it is their first visit or their fifteenth.

Our hope is when each guest leaves the Bento Box they will have enjoyed a quality and affordable meal, as well as the experience of being entertained by our highly skilled chefs and friendly staff. We want the Bento Box to be the restaurant destination sought out by locals and visitors alike.

History

Established in 2006.

Chef Lee worked at The Breakers from 2001 to 2006, where he was the executive chef for their fine dining Asian restaurant called Echo. He was also responsible for all of the sushi that went into the catering events for The Breakers resort. His greatest pleasure, however, is the time spent behind the sushi bar where he has the privilege of interacting with his guests to provide a unique experience that might not have even be comprised of items from his menu. Often times creating dishes for the individual based on their personal tastes.

His eagerness to explain, demonstrate and discuss his preparations and his sourcing of product has cultivated an impressive list of clients who come for the friendship as much as the food. But in 2006 when he opened the Bento Box in Wilmington, his desires was to not only continue his love of food but also to balance time behind the sushi bar with time spent with his family.
