Sheraton Suites Wilmington Downtown

The general cleanliness of the hotel was fine and we liked the size of the room but the hotel seems to be in a dicey spot of town. They have a «security guard» in the lobby which is a red flag but during the night a couple in the next room over got into a nasty fight that resulted in things being thrown around the room and the (apparently intoxicated) man staying there trying to kick in the door and shouting profanity from the hallway.
It took ages for «someone» (I’m assuming the security guard) to respond and break it up bit it resulted in a very uneasy night and lost sleep.
It’s a low-​priced hotel so you will appreciate that, but it seems there’s a reason.

Located in the center of Wilmington, this hotel is within perfect reach of any/​all businesses as well as freeways.
We stayed in a suite on the 15^th floor and the view was magnificent and the service stellar. From the moment we checked in the staff ensured we needed nothing.
Whether you are here for business or pleasure, this is the place to be!

The location of this hotel is great and the rooms are huge and really comfortable. They could do with a bit of quality control in the rooms in terms of fixtures and things but overall a nice hotel. They even sent cookies to my room the second time I stayed here as a welcome back! They also have free beer and wine and cheese in the lobby some evenings.

I usually dislike hotels and prefer airbnb both domestic and internationally, but I have to say that I was impressed and completely satisfied with the quality of the Sheraton suites. And scene !
Location: Located right in the heart of downtown (or as the locals say it) «In town» of Wilmington, the hotel is in prime positioning for parking your vehicle underground and walking to local destinations.
Parking: Underground Sheraton Parking for guests only which is great and for $ 12 on the weekend and unlimited ins and outs, I’d call that a win. Enter and exit using your hotel room key.
The Suites: Very Roomy — we had a step up from the standard rooms so our room opened up to an office area and a living room area the size of a standard hotel room. Located on the other side of double doors was the bedroom, which had a modern décor and the best comforters I’ve had in a while — there is a heavy one and a light one which I appreciate because sometimes you don’t need a heavy comforter but a sheet isn’t enough. The bathrooms are roomy and very clean, however our bathtub had an issue with the drainage so I was standing in water in my shower and nobody died but it’s a weird feeling eesh.
The Service: Megan was at the front desk when we checked in, and she was just fine, but I found it very unsettling that when I called for toothbrushes and toothpaste she just said I could pick it up from the front desk — I’ve received them at my door at any other hotel and it’s such a small thing to ask for. Ahh well.
In conclusion: GREAT place to stay for a staycation or a vacation, AND all of two blocks away from my favorite restaurant in life, Domaine Hudson.

Hotel is clean, staff is very nice, bit outdated, parking is not free which is very strange for a big name hotel, and the pool is very very very small. &I no complementary breakfast; again kind of strange for a big name hotel. Overall a positive experience
Crossing town on a mini road trip from NYC

This is a Sheraton you can better avoid. I’m a platinum member, staying in SPG hotels every single week. Sheraton should be able to do better.
Plus:
— The Club Lounge is a spacious comfortable area
— They gave me a nice room with a separate living room
— The people were friendly
Minus:
— Their gym is a joke. The ceiling is so low that I was not able to use the thread mill. I know I’m tall, six-​foot five, but still.
— The windows in the room don’t open. I hate that. I need to be able to turn off the airco and get some fresh air in order to sleep well. And don’t start about safety, there are plenty of hotels that found a way to combine it.
— The restaurant in the hotel was very mediocre, which is normally the case in a hotel-​restaurant, but this is in the middle of the town. You would expect something nice.

The customer service at the front desk by LaAsia was SPECTACULAR! She is AMAZING and deserves a raise for how she handled a botched
reservation and was so very accommodating. She is top notch!
However, whoever is in charge of housekeeping needs to re-​train the person who cleaned room 1603 on the morning of Aug. 8. I expect to sleep in a FRESH bed, with CLEAN sheets. I pulled the covers back to discover yellowy dried SNOT on the fitted and flat sheet. I immediately stripped the bed! So grossed out right now. Hopefully housekeeping will be back up here soon to put fresh ones on the beds. Ugh!
UPDATE: Housekeeping manager came up and took care of the issue right away. Clean sheets and fresh towels all within 20 Minutes of my call. Customer service here has been great. Gained back a star in my book. Would be 5 Stars if there were ANYTHING in this town to do on a Saturday afternoon, but EVERYTHING around us is closed.

I’m going to preface this bland review by stating that the front desk staff was so friendly and helpful when we rolled in to… wait, where the hell are we again? Wilm… what? Wilmington, Delaware? Why are we in Wilmington Delaware?
They were very nice. the hotel was clean, below-​ground parking ample and our room was huge (check out my compelling pictures for proof!). Look… it’s not the staff or the room’s fault they happen to exist right in the center of Wilmingboro, Somethingware. I mean, if you have to stay in Wilmingford, you could do worse. And the price compared to hotels in cities where things actually occur is quite inexpensive.
In closing, certainly visit Sheraton Suites in Wilmingham, Delavance. It’s the most fun you can have in… the state in question.
P. S.- Is it the apocalypse? It’s 7PM… where are all of the people?

I’m from DC and no stranger to paying $ 300 + for unique boutique style hotels to ensure personalized service and amenities. In hindsight I would take a look at Hotel DuPont (the closest thing to a boutique or Ritz Carlton).
The staff is the ONLY reason this place has stars.
I was staying with a wedding party here. The king room with separate suite was $ 130 including parking (so cheap!!). Arriving there’s a convenient covered loading/​unloading area that can quickly become congested bc there is no valet here managing the car situation. Checking into the hotel went relatively smoothly enough in the SPG (Starwood Pref Guests) line and the manager was helpful. We were checking in with a wedding party and the bride & groom left check in presents for everyone — we were not handed ours. I had to come down later and ask for my bag.
The parking garage is underground, key card access for $ 13 a day (also a steal but it’s not valet so boo!!). The garage is filthy and quite frankly scary. It’s not well lit, it appears like it was built in a hurry in 1980 and never revisited since.
From anywhere but P1 you’re walking up stairs to get to the elevator (hello not very wheel chair accessible!!)
I can’t describe to you the discomfort we felt getting out of the parking garage elevator and into the lobby to rooms elevator. There was a woman in there with her hair in a hair net in basketball shorts on a call on speakerphone. She was loudly complaining and cursing about her inability to manage the elevator. (Slide the room card to select floors) When I selected floor 14 she loudly exclaimed her disappointment in yet another floor stop «because **** people push buttons». While the hotel probably can’t stop this type of guest there’s certain hotels where you won’t find them.
The room was huge compared to city rooms! There was a kitchenette, office desk/​chair, couch, TV, coffee table all just in the entry room. Behind flimsy sliding doors there a huge bed with another TV, vanity section, and closet. The bathroom is a motel styled bathroom. The bathtub looks dirty and there’s a weird fan blowing straight onto you.
Like I said the cleaning staff and front desk staff seemed nice. (But again didn’t hand out the wedding parties goodie bags upon guests arrival as expected)
There is a lobby convenience store with feminine products, snacks, drinks, it’s pretty great!
There’s also a lobby restaurant, it wasn’t staffed on Saturday at 2 when I check in.
Like other reviewers have mentioned this neighborhood is SKETCHY. The city doesn’t have any 5 star Resturants or cultural attractions to bring money into town (jobs for the locals etc). There’s people hanging out on every corner at every hour of the day and night and they don’t look friendly.

The hotel is in a really awful location – like, unsafe. It is somewhat entertaining to watch drug deals on the street from the relative safety of your hotel room, though.
The rooms are massive and really nice.
The night staff are extremely offensive. I’m not sure why they think is ok to talk to people like that, but whatever.
There is a Westin about a mile away that I would prefer to stay at, but we were with a group and hence stayed at the meth hotel.

My family enjoyed a long weekend at the Sheraton Suites and was impressed. It is in a dead zone downtown where there’s virtually nothing open nearby on weekends. But it doesn’t matter because it’s so easy to get to anyplace from this hotel. The suites are spacious — large comfortable living room with a microwave and mini-​fridge. The hotel provides lots of free bottled water and a coffee/​tea maker in each room. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are fine. Everything was very clean. And the hotel was quiet at night.
The restaurant is okay. Breakfast was pretty tired — nothing particularly fresh although they will make omelets to order. And the servers are very accommodating.
The indoor pool is small but fine, goes to a depth of three feet. And the fitness room is small but well maintained and with good equipment.
We had paid for the Club floor but the Club Lounge was closed the weekend we were there. Instead, the hotel comped us free breakfasts in the restaurant and free appetizers in the evening. It worked out fine.
I would definitely stay here again — good value for the money.

I come here every week for work. It’s an old hotel (relatively clean) but hey you’re in wilmington what do you expect? The only new hotel downtown is the Westin and that gets booked pretty fast.

–Not soundproof– I can pretty much hear the person next door coughing
–Some views will be facing the garage
–Food is not good (maybe I got the wrong thing but it didn’t seem fresh)
Honestly I only stayed here because of work, not sure if people actually come here for vacation (I wouldn’t recommend it)…not much going on. Everything closes earlier. Wilmington’s like 30 min from philly but I’d HIGHLY recommend staying in philly.
Also heard the crime rate is on the rise here…

Large room, moderate restaurant, good club lounge, small gym, affiliated with YMCA across the street.

Very nice hotel. Clean and neat. Staying on the club level with access to the club suite on the 11^th floor. Breakfast and food served in the evenings with nonalcoholic drinks. Restaurant and bar attached to the hotel. Beer is cold, soup is hot and the service is with a smile. Dinner specials are available Monday thru Friday!

Very nice staff. Told me parking options beyond hotel where they charge. I spotted free breakfast buffet tickets sitting behind the checkin desk. I joking asked if they wanted to get rid of any and she gave me 3 for us. Fitness center is nice but very small. Lifefitness equipment. Pool is tiny too. Didn’t see a hot tub but didn’t look hard. Breakfast buffet pretty basic but hot.
Plus I got this place on hotwire for 90 bucks. King suite with fridge. Sweet.

A nice, comfortable hotel in Wilmington’s downtown that could use a little upkeep. The staff is very friendly and was very accommodating with our dog. Dogs under 40 pounds are welcome. The rooms are nice and large, with huge bathrooms but could use a little maintenance. The shower particularly wasn’t in great condition and the head kept spinning into the corner or over the curtain. Still, very convenient to downtown and a great place to stay with a dog.

This hotel was good for the low to mid range hotel. Nice that it is all suites and rooms have plenty of space. I was on the concierge floor and had breakfast in the concierge room. They had scrambled eggs which were typical powdered eggs you find at this level of hotel.
Biggest drawback was that while sitting in the lobby waiting for the rest of my party, an employee behind the desk was on the phone talking to people about problems with their bills. He was such a loud talker, I couldn’t help but hear everything from the furthest point in the room. Not only annoying, but uncomfortable being about some sensitive situations.

The location is okay, but the staff is nice and courteous. The building is pretty old and could use renovation.
Parking is pretty expensive, about $ 8 per day. This hotel is mediocre at best.

At first the front desk would not honor my Starwood reservation because it took a while to find it. But the person was apologetic so I didn’t mind. There is no security at this hotel and in the winter homeless people and the occasional drunk fill the lobby at all hrs of the night which is unheard of in most hotels. Also I found some resting on the floor of our hotel hallway. Needless to say I didn’t feel very safe here. There was black mold in our bathroom and the hotel lobby computers did not work during our entire stay. The staff at the breakfast buffet was very nice so I’m giving two stars for them. I say avoid this place. Until they get more security

Awful. My wife and I stay frequently as do our parents when visiting. She accidentally booked a room a week off from the dates we needed and the Sheraton staff still refused to refund despite giving them plenty of notice and re-​booking for the weekend we actually needed.
Don’t waste your time with their customer service. Especially with all of the other hotels in the area.
We’ll be staying somewhere else next time.

Ich wollte mir eigentlich gar nicht so einen fetten Schuppen gönnen,
aber der Preis war unschlagbar gut. So lernten wir uns kennen, das
Sheraton Suites in Wilmington. Und ich. Ich zog in eine der 223 Suiten,
die alle einen Wohn– oder Arbeitsraum und ein davon getrenntes
Schlafzimmer haben. In der Businessstadt Wilmington zieht ein
Suitenhotel wohl Langzeitwohnende an, jedenfalls kann es kaum am
entzückenden Ambiente der Stadt liegen, dass es hier Suiten gibt. Dafür
spricht auch, dass Parken in der Woche 16 US$ pro Nacht, am Wochenende
aber nur 12 US$ kostet. Achja, wie kam ich eigentlich hier hin? Nun,
ich besuchte eine Sportveranstaltung etwas südlicher in Delaware und da
war Wilmington ein logistischer Kompromiss.
Das Hotel liegt
zentral an einer der Hauptverkehrsstraßen und trotzdem kommt hier keine
Hektik auf, denn es ist nicht ganz so viel los in Wilmington an diesem
Freitag. Delaware ist aufgrund seiner sagen wir mal milden
Steuergesetzgebung der Sitz so manchen Head Offices amerikanischer
Fortune 500 Companies. Jedenfalls auf dem geduldigen Papier. Das erzeugt
noch lange nicht, dass es in Wilmington attraktive Geschäftshäuser
gibt, die sehen eher wie Plattenbauten aus. Als ich die Dame am Empfang
frage, was ich denn in Wilmington sehen müsste, da wirkte sie etwas
ratlos. Immerhin gibt es in etwa fünf Gehminuten Entfernung eine
brauchbare Sportsbar. dann ist aber auch gut.
Service ist nett
und amerikanisch freundlich. Die Dame beim CheckIn rattert alles so
routiniert schnell herunter, dass ich doch dreimal nachfragen muss. Ja,
tatsächlich richtig verstanden, WiFi auf dem Zimmer kostet und das knapp
10US$ am Tag. Herzhaft. Der Concierge, von dem ich nicht weiß, ob er
weiß, dass er einer ist, zeigt mir aber freundlichst den Weg zur
Sportsbar. Die Rezeptionsdame, bei der ich auscheckte war gerade davor
von ihrer Chefin zusammengefaltet worden, da sie nicht ans Telefon ging,
dies wurde morgens um sechs Uhr lautstark in der Lobby diskutiert.
Das
Zimmer ist klasse. Zimmer, was sage ich? Eine Zweiraumwohnung mit Bad,
Arbeitsecke, Küchenzeile und Doppelbett. Ist alles nicht so schwer und
überladen, wie bei Marriott, aber doch stimmig. Flat TVs steht einer im
Schlafzimmer und einer im Wohnbereich. Das Bett ist funktional und OK,
nur warum sind die Kloschüsseln hier immer so tief, man das ist aus
mehreren Gründen dumm. Couch ist ausziehbar, theoretisch können damit
vier Leute hier schlafen. Beide Zimmer und das Bad sind sauber, Wirklich
ein schöner Rückzugsort.
Man kann von dieser Erde gehen ohne
Wilmington zu kennen, kein Problem. Wenn man aber nach Wilmington MUSS,
dann ist Sheraton Suites ein Hotel, was dem Gast üppig Platz in gut
ausgestatteten Zimmern gibt.
