Residence Inn Wilmington Landfall

Courteous staff. Clean room with extremely comfortable bed. Complementary hot breakfast in the AM.

My husband and I have stayed here twice and the accommodations and service have fit our needs each time. We were traveling for business and exploring the area for a potential relocation. The hotel is located next to plenty of shopping and restaurants. We walked to an excellent Italian restaurant one night. Great stay and we love that they are dog friendly! The rooms are clean and comfortable– great firm mattress!

Great hotel for large families and extended stays. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my family’s stay here. Breakfast and the nightly dinner gathering are great and are included in your stay. The only disappointment was the pool was not open yet. I have nothing but good things to say about this place it’s conveniently located to stores, shops and Wrightsville Beach is right down the road. Lastly as a reminder be careful on the basketball/​tennis court when it’s wet. The flooring is slippery when wet.

Not the nicest Residence Inn. Was not thrilled. Grounds are just ok. Room was just ok. Dated. Small. Clean… but cracked tile. Old décor. Not the standard I have come to expect from this chain. We stay because of or dogs. But tis is not the best the chain has to offer. Time for an overhaul.

We stayed here when we first came to Wilmington. The rooms were clean with full kitchens. The staff is friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to make your stay the best. We needed a suite with 2 bedrooms and an accessible bathroom, but the one available didn’t have that. The manager ordered an accessible toilet and the maintenance guy came in on his day off to put it in so we could move into the suite. One of the beds was a little uncomfortable and they got a mattress pad for us. Breakfast daily and dinner 4 nights a week, wish it was more cause it was so good, especially the chicken. 24 hour coffee in the lobby. Free wine red/​white and beer with dinner. Fresh fruit at the front desk and a whatever you need market in the lobby, along with a bar, outdoor pool, pet area, basketball court, and putting green. And of course the resident cat Sylvester (pet friendly hotel) is a love. Still go by just to say hello.

My family and I stayed for a few weeks while moving back to the Wilmington area. The only thing better than the great location — close to Wrightsville Beach, great restaurants, local stores and large retailers at Mayfaire — is the responsive service from the hotel staff! The hotel is well maintained and ideal for any length of stay.

I spent the week here on business and everything from the room to the staff, to the amenities were outstanding. My room was huge with a nice kitchen and full size fridge. The bed was comfortable and the living room had a nice comfy couch. There was a nice pool, small workout room, and a few other outdoor activities at this location. The location is also close to the beach, shopping and downtown. Each week night they provided a light dinner and complimentary beverages. I ate too many chocolate chip cookies on this trip. Definitely coming back.

My wife ant I like to drive down from Raleigh on random weekends and enjoy a day or two at Wrightsville Beach. Each time we do, we stay here at this Marriott Residence Inn. At only about 3 miles from the beach and with plenty of restaurants, a Harris Teeter, and a Starbucks next to it, its location is perfect for us.
As for the hotel its self, each rooms kitchenette set up is perfect for a weekend get away. The rooms have always been clean, the beds comfy, and each room we have stayed in had a strong AC unit to keep it cool. Each room does not come with a balcony as we found out this weekend, which for us was not too big a deal. We just wanted to hang our beach towels and swim suits out after returning from the beach, but the shower rod in the bathroom did the trick. They have a nice pool (at least to look at, have not been in), a super friendly staff, have coffee available 24 – 7, and put out your basic spread each morning from 7 – 10 (+1 for a make your own b-​fast burrito station).
My wife and I liked this place the first time we stayed here four years ago. From that point we figured why mess with a good thing and always come back. it works for us and Marriott Residence Inn will work for you as well!

Accomodating staff, pet friendly facility, lovely suites with flat screen TV’s and living area to stretch out in… all at very reasonable prices. I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Remember Chevy Chase’s «Vacation» movies? Visualize his overloaded megasized station wagon loaded to the gills. Now think of something LARGER (full sized SUV) with all seats filled, both over the roof carrier and trailer hitch carrier loaded like the Beverly Hillbillies going to California. Now you can visualize what it is like for my typical week long Easter Break «vacation.»
I like Residence Inns because they are one of the few hotels that offer 2 bedroom/​living room/​2 bathroom suites where I don’t have to be heir to the throne to be able to afford. I don’t have to set up bivouacs in the parking lot to accommodate everyone. For just under $ 200, I was able to house my family, get a full breakfast for everyone, and on weekdays, get dinner (it was corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, salad, drinks for this St Patty’s Day).
This Residence Inn is 9 years old but was rennovated last year. It looks brand new. The only tell tale signs that this is an older Residence Inn are the bathroom where the original tiling and older enamel on steel bathtub (much better than the new plastic ones) are still in place. Amazing how a competent architect can allow an establishment to be timeless. No… this isnt the Bellagio but it is a very comfortable, affordable (thank you AAA), unpretentious hotel for the family. The beds are very comfortable. Not like the Ritz’s I’ve stayed at, but good enough for a good night’s sleep.
The food here is excellent. For American comfort food, this is as good as any restaurant I have visited. They have a staff of elderly. «grandmother» types of chefs who treat you like your grandmother and cooks like them. They really pay attention to how they cook their food. In most places, they hire $ 6 an hour chef that only care when the shift is done. Here, you can tell everyone on the kitchen cares about the quality of food.
The staff here is as friendly as I have ever encountered at a hotel. They make you feel welcomed, They talk to you like family. You can tell they really do care about your well being at the hotel.
Overall this is 5 stars. Yes it isn’t as glitzy as a Shutters, Broadmoor, Four Seasons, Ritz, but it accomplishes what any hotel should do… it makes you want to come back.
…and I am thinking about tying a dog leash to the end of my trailer hitch carrier to complete the picture…
