Piree’s Piri Piri

Awesome Grill chicken place!!! Chicken wings were full of flavour… Never had salad bowl like this before… Whole experience was great.

I’ve been here three times so far, and it’s not even very convenient for me to get to. That’s how good they are. The first time I went, they were patient and explained everything. They forgot something that was supposed to go with my order, but that was corrected. Everything was delicious. The other times I came were smooth. It’s relaxing place to eat on the weekends, and the chicken and beer make it even more relaxing.

Ordered the 10 flamed grilled wings, 5 medium and 5 hot. The medium had a unique flavor and were much different than the hot but still spicy. Both flavors were awesome! Have traveled many places across the country and had many wings. These wings were top notch. Awesome flavors, variety of spices… I highly recommend! I will be back again for more wings and to try something different.

Ordered wings for appetizer. When they brought us our meal, we asked about the appetizer. They said it will be out soon… so we asked for the order to be canceled. Who eats the appetizer after the meal? When they served the couple next to us, they gave them the wings «on the house.» A passive aggressive act, which made all of us laugh… including the recipients! The couple who received the wings said they were too dry to eat. No repeat customers here.

Pretty good food for the price… Piri piri sauce adds a good twist to everything. We all liked hummus with the the piri piri sauce… Lots of veggie options too… Service was fast. Overall a good new place.

We were visiting the area from New York City and this was by for one of the best places for chicken I have ever tried. All the ingredients are super fresh and the meat was cooked perfectly tender. Being a somewhat chicken snob due to the overwhelming amount of chicken places in NYC, I was skeptical. My girlfriends and I decided to order a few things and share. Oh and I forgot to mention my vegeterian friend, Stacie, was dragged to the «chicken place» unwillingly.
Let me start by saying I am not a veggie lover but their saucy paneer dishes were offfff the chaaaain! The serving sizes for their rice bowls are also huge so you’re def getting a bang for your buck. They also have AMAZING sauces that you can dip whatever you order in. My favorite was the mango and lime.
The people behind the register were also super friendly. And A BIG PLUS was the open kitchen. You can actually see your food being prepared. The restaurant is a good size and feels open and airy. We had a decent sized group and didn’t feel cramped.
I’m not sure if this place is a chain or not but i really reallllly hope they bring their chicken to NYC. I know we would probably be there at least once a week. Thanks Piree!

First time there today, so I can only comment on the extra hot wings, hot half chicken, red skin potato mash and cole slaw. Everything was excellent. I love spicy food and the extra hot was no joke. They aren’t playing around. Don’t hurt yourself. I can’t wait to try the extreme, more sides, dessert and the rice dishes. The chicken was moist and grilled perfectly. The sides were fantastic. Definitely going back. You should get in there. You know me. It’s legit.

I could eat their paneer rice bowl everyday. It’s SO good and gigantic. I can’t finish the bowl in one sitting. The light char on each cube of paneer is just perfect. Adding guacamole really tops it off.
The wings have an amazing grilled taste to them. I love the variety of sauces too. Their mango lime sauce is VERY sweet (think Sour Patch kids) on its own, but grilled with the paneer and chicken it tastes awesome.
The service was good and the staff was friendly.
I also enjoy that it’s next to a BrewHaHa coffee shop. So I can get my caffeine buzz on before I pass out from having stuffed myself with too much food!

This place has really good chicken. Like really good. However, their service is hideous! Unfortunately it’s not the staffs’ fault. Their system crashes regularly, and causes them to ask for repeat orders and HUGE delays in paying and serving food. Unfortunately they’ve lost me as a customer.

Great healthy meal where service was attentive, table delivery was quick, and food was delicious and flavorful! I could hear Guy Fieri in the background uses words like «bananas» and «BAM!» We had the hummus, wings, chicken sandwich, rice bowl, potato and sweet potato fries! My wife loved her rice bowl and couldn’t finish it. The sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in a long time and best of all it was healthy. The wings could be meatier and the hummus was Delish! I strongly encourage all to get here soon!!!

This is the best place to get awesome grilled chicken sandwich or chicken rice bowl. :) It is one of my best place for lunch now.

The sauces are amazing, the wings are amazing. Rice was OK but whatever. The wings man the wingsssss.

Delicious food. Whenever my family is in London, we go to Nandos. Now we don’t have to go to London. Instead we come to Delaware to Piree’s Piri Piri.

Amazing chicken — I ordered take-​out, and it was packaged well, and my whole family enjoyed it! So different from anything in the area — I can’t even put into words how flavorful the chicken is. just pure yumminess!
And unlike other reviewers here, I found the service to be very quick and friendly!
Will definitely go there again… soon!

Amazing ! The flavor is out of this area, meaning it beats this area in flavor, u have to try the mango lime chicken platter with sweet potatoe fries with the piri piri and u will be in skeet heaven! And make sure you dip the chicken in the very hot sauce!
Ive eaten alot out in wilmington and south jersey and the food has been horrendous and for fat people who like pizza and fat. finally a break fpr maximum flavor and quality

Wow! That’s all we were saying while eating our meal at Piree’s last night. I read over some other reviewers comments, and I’m surprised this place received less than 5 stars. This place has only been open 5 weeks people!!! That’s why places have soft openings, to iron out the wrinkles. Give them a break!
The ambiance was casual yet upbeat and modern. They owners really went through their design with a fine tooth comb and it shows!
Our dinner was fantastic. We had about 8 adults with 6 screaming kids. The staff handled everything wonderfully. Our orders were brought out as ordered and in a timely manner. I appreciate that they brought the children’s orders out first. The manager and owner are parents so its nice they can relate to us!
Being we had a large party, we were fortunate that everyone ordered something different and we got to sample about 80% of their menu. It was great!
Children:
Chicken tenders and wings. Wings were asked to be prepared without sauce. The seasoning on the wings were perfect enough that it provided enough flavor for the kids innocent pallets. The chicken tenders are non-​breaded!!! It was scary at first for the kids but they loved it! Again, healthy yet flavorful. All the parents appreciated that very much!
Adults:
We ordered the wraps, chicken sandwiches, and whole chickens. Some experimented with the extra hot sauces. Those that did said «Packs the heat with the flavor, unlike Hooters or BDubs which is pretty much straight acid going down your throat!». The chicken was moist and juicy. The rolls were baked in house. The mango lime sauce was to die for!!!
Sidenote: For the comment-​er who compared this place to Chicken House. This isn’t a place to get a bucket of fried chicken. This place is where you go for a healthy chicken dinner with authentic flavors. This isn’t a wing spot but their flamed grilled wings could beat out any deep fried joint.
If you live in the 90 mile radius of this place, stop by! It’ll be worth it!

I met a friend here for lunch. There were a bunch of people in business casual attire; It was lunch time and there are office buildings around the shopping center. This place is all about chicken. I ordered their lime wing appetizer. I mean it wasn’t bad but there is a better chicken place, called «The Chicken House» on Kirkwood Highway. I don’t think I would come here again.

Disappointing service and inconsistent food.
The problems began as soon as we finished ordering. The counter staff wouldn’t give anyone in our party receipts for their orders. When one of us specifically asked how they would know what we ordered the reply was that the staff would remember. At the time it seemed reasonable since the place was mostly empty.
After about 20 minutes it became very obvious that 2 of our 6 orders were not coming. It took multiple requests to get the staff to realize that food was missing. After checking with us several times they verified what was missing with the cashiers and it appeared that they were going to resolve the problems.
About 10 minutes later (30 minutes from when we ordered) they delivered one of the missing orders. We then had to remind them again that one order was still missing. They verified again what was missing multiple times. The final order was brought to our table over 45 minutes from when we ordered and it was incorrect and the piripiri for the fries was forgotten.
The consistency of the food also left a lot to be desired. Some of the orders delivered in a timely manner were good, but others were tasteless and missing the sauce that is supposed to the the main attraction. Some of the sides of fries were soggy while others were overcooked. The hummus and nachos were good but the coleslaw was watery. One of the forgotten orders was good, but the other was bland.

Food:
Ordered the chicken sandwich — it was very flavorful and tender. The ‘grilled’ flavor came mostly from the bun which they put on the grill too. The fries were generic/​frozen — try a different side if you go. Maybe the sweet potato fries are better. I would/​will definitely order the sandwich again though — the flavor in one bite is unlike anything I’ve had around here! The bun could have been a little smaller for the size of the chicken. Got 5 regular wings to try as well — they were grilled and fell off the bone; we ordered plain to test the 7 different sauces. We also ordered 3 tenders to try — they were juicier/​just as tender as the wings in my opinion — we’ll be coming back for them + the sandwich! They have a digital soda fountain with 200 options, and beers are about $ 6.
Restaurant:
The grilled concept is a refreshing change from the plethora of fried chicken options we have. They shouldn’t be compared against each other in my opinion. The only thing that surprised me was the ordering process. You are first seated at a table by a server, and handed a menu. You then decide what you want on the menu, and walk up to the counter to place your order and pay. They give you cups and send you off to get your drink. The food is then delivered to your table by the server that sat you. Looking back it didn’t hurt us in anyway and didn’t really have any negative effect, its just different/​new to me! I agree with other reviewers too — the timing of their dishes coming out of the kitchen needs some work (and we only had two people)

Waited at least 1.5 hrs for take out. Sat in the same spot the whole time yet no one acknowledged us or considered to give us status on our food. After 1 hr, WE asked where our order was and were told it was still an additional 15 min that turned into 30.

The best chicken ever! Delaware needed something like this. The food is terrific, the place is impeccable and the staff is wonderful. I tried a variety of things and have been amazed by the quality.
One cannot go wrong at this place. There is a nice balance of veg and non– veg that is hard to find. A perfect fit for families.
I would frequent this place and highly recommend it to one and all.

Disappointed. Fries were soggy. Salad was wilted. Long wait for food. Error made in order (fault of restaurant) unfriendly and follow up customer service (by phone). On a positive note, wings were good. Spicy means spicy! The person taking the orders was very kind an patient in explaining menu.
**Follow up — owner called me back personally and apologized for the errors made, and promised to replace my meal tomorrow. She is definitely someone who is committed to the business and making it successful, especially in a small community, where word of mouth spreads fast!

Absolutely love the décor. Ordered wings extra hot, they were definitely spicy but juicy and flavorful as well. My son got mango chicken sandwich which was very good right down to the bun which seemed to be house made or at least bakery grade. Sweet potato fries were crispy and decent portion. I think my favorite though was the Paneer wrap which was outstanding. Again I got the extra hot and it was, but the flavor was wonderful. A couple of kinks with there systems (one order took s little longer) but to be expected with a new concept and first week. Can’t wait to get back. Particularly the kids:)
