Might As well Bar & Grill

We usually walk here from our apartment, so I’ve been roughly a dozen times. Food is always on point (I’m all about those wings and the boyfriend swears by their burgers.) and I’ve had some pretty good mixed drinks. Atmosphere is super chill, but not a place I’d ever dine with my parents. (There is a lot of… Boobs and butts from the servers sometimes…) The 50 cent beer is about what you expect – cheap, light, small pours. Good for «knocking back.» My two complaints are the incredibly slow service and repeatedly horrible beer pours. We usually come during peak times, and have learned it can take about 30 – 40 min between asking for the check and actually getting it. I’ve been served beers that are about 40% foam and others that are totally flat. It’s always a toss up.
Servers are always sweet and friendly. Any minor problems we’ve ever had were quickly remedied. Great place to dine with old friends.

Very friendly and personable staff. Low drink prices. Actually really low. Perfect outdoor patio. And the pizza has gotta be some of/​if not THE best pizza in town!

Staff was nice, but super slow and inattentive. I ordered a margarita for margarita Monday, and it was basically all juice and no tequila. The black bean burger was very dry and too much bread. Good place for college students that don’t mind a quick okay meal.

Maybe this business is rated low due to the service issues but the food is on point. My wife and I decided to grab dinner here after I remembered the Thursday steak special. 12oz steak for $ 9.99 with two sides that I am still dreaming about. It was cooked exactly to my request of medium rare and was so juicy and flavorful that I didn’t need steak sauce, which turned out to be a good thing since my waitress disappeared. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It was wonderful but you should always serve seafood with lemon. My wife had to go to the bar to ask for some because our server dropped our food and didn’t return to check on us.
Overall this is typical bar that caters to the college crowd. Food is great but the service needs some work. If you like cheap drinks and daily specials this is great place to try… mights as well you might like it.

my favorite bar in wilmington. I go every Tuesday for $ 1 drinks. best place to get drunk on a budget. bartenders all have beards and are nice to look at. food is decent, im here more to drink rather than to eat.

Our first visit, won’t be our last. Olivia was our server and she was awesome. We brought our dog and she even brought out a water bowl. My wife had the blackened salmon wrap and it was great. The Mac and cheese was equally good. I had wings and they are jumbo. Garlic Parmesan was a great choice. They appear to have a different special every day. Today, Sunday was half price pizza.

I’ve gone here quite a bit in the past year and haven’t had any of these problems. The waitresses are always very sweet, and the drink specials better than most in the area.

Don’t bother eating here. The food is straight out of SAMs club. Worst nachos I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I make better ones at the concession stand during baseball season. Their version of bang bang shrimp was overlooked and chewy. The waitress was sweet– not her fault.

We stopped in for a few drinks after dinner, because… Might As Well. It was a Thursday night during summer so it wasn’t very crowded. The bartender was very friendly and chatted with us a bit. This place is nothing super snazzy or special, but if you want to grab a few drinks, pop in here.

I’ve been here twice and enjoyed it. I’ve had their burger (really good) and pizza (also good) as well as snacked on their fried pickles and mozzarella sticks and found them tasty. I’ve also had very good service. I did order food for delivery and it took them over a hour to deliver and the food was cold, I will probably never do that again (I live 5 mins away) but I will definitely go back and eat there.

I stumbled across this place place a while ago and decided to give it a shot and I’m glad I did. The staff was more than accommodating and friendly. I ordered a beer and burger and it was great. I came back two weeks later and the bar staff remembered my name and what I drank. I have been coming back ever since. It’s a great local place where you can meet with your friends for a few drinks and grab some great food.

All I wanted was a Bloody Mary, which I got, after the «bartender», who was obviously untrained poured vodka, tomato juice, and ice from a shaker to a glass multiple times. My drink spilled and dripped down the sides of the glass. She plopped it down in front of me and I had to wrap my hand around the glass dripping with drink. I did not appreciate her bored attitude. I guess since I’m a girl and I was with my boyfriend, she figured I wouldn’t get drunk and hit on her and leave a good tip. News flash: I’m a grown woman who tips when tips are due.
Outside, it was loud and I heard the f work every two seconds. I have a sailor mouth, but not when I’m next door to a froyo place where there are kids and elderly couples filtering in and out.
My advice is to either close down or get Jon Taffer to fix this place. What a waste of time and money.

I have got to start off first and foremost, this was one of the best burgers that I have had in a while, and the fries complimented them perfectly. I’m a sucker for a hand pattied bun and hand cut fries, and burger folks can tell the difference. Perfect burger, perfect bun, perfect fries, but that’s it.
This experience was quite a roller coaster, because it took about ten minutes for us to see a waitress, and order drinks, and we got one that really didn’t care, she was nice enough, but we saw her maybe a total of six times, that’s including both trips involving the bill. The food didn’t take forever to get there, and the food was the highlight of the visit, which was very good to me, but then I felt like we wore out our welcome once the food was done. All of the tables around us had their waitresses come back every about four minutes and we never really saw ours at all, I’m sure she had more tables but come on, the other waitresses around did too, I’m sure.
The value was pretty good too, not too expensive for a burger and a beer, but this isn’t a place for people that are critical of the service that they receive at a restaurant and are just there to have a good time and not really care at all. Good food, but I don’t like going into places not knowing what kind of service you will get that day. All in all, I liked this place, very nice laid back atmosphere, good food, good drinks, good specials, and I’ll be going back, but just not having super expectations.

Great bartenders and awesome service make this one of my go to spots around town. The food is definitely bar fare but its well done. Giant wings and tasty quality burgers are far, far better than anything you would get at Carolina Ale House or BWW. It can get pretty busy later on certain week nights with the college crowd but if you make it on a little earlier or on a random weekend you will find a good mix of regulars around the bar.
They also have a great bloody Mary setup on Sundays and plenty of TVs for all the games. Acoustic sets on weekend nights keep the feeling a little more low-​key if that’s what you are into but it still can get busy. Summertimes out on the patio get packed and the bar out there has a different set of taps than the usual ones inside. They feature a pretty nice craft beer selection that rotates as well. If you are around UNCW check out Might As Well and ask for Will. You will be glad you did

Very disappointed with the chicken wings I ordered. I liked the buffalo dip but that was it. I tried this place when it first opened and wasn’t impressed but I gave it another shot and they dropped the ball.

This is a ‘go to’ spot when I’m visiting Wilmington. While it’s bar food, it’s way above average. I love the stuffed breadsticks and pizza. The wings are meaty (far meatier than nearby BW3’s). Very nice burger selection too! Being a beer guy, they have an awesome selection. Each time I’m down I have a few new beers I can log on Untappd. My favorite part is the outdoor patio. When the weather is nice, you can catch me there. Overall, I love the Might As Well experience.

Awesome sports bar atmosphere with excellent food. Big plus for us was its pet friendly and warmly welcomed our two dogs. The waitress and owner came over to greet the dogs. Now the food. Yummy. wings that were to die for. Fries that were hand cut, fresh and home made. Hubby had a burger that was huge and hand made. Better than five guys. Which is a tough standard to beat. Highly recommend this awesome find. Reasonable prices, excellent attentive service, even though the were slammed on a Friday night. Give this five stars for food. Five stars for friendliness.

Hot Honey and spicy garlic wings were amazing. The pizza was fantastic and dag the cheese fries were fabulous !!

I met some people I knew from high school here and full disclosure, I might have gone on the worst night: $ 1 drink night. $ 1 for mixed vodka, rum, or gin drinks. This place was hot and incredibly packed, I can deal with either one but for the love of all things holy, if it is hot and packed please have a decent AC unit running. There was a DJ inside and minimal room for dancing.
The clientele were primarily UNCW undergrads; understandably so within campus apartment walking distance and cheap liquor. I’m just not into crowds and rail alcohol served out of plastic cups.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. They have great specials. Unfortunately, we won’t be back. We had steak, mine was at least half fat and looked a hot mess. The potatoes had some weird coating on them or at least that is what it tasted like. I saw the waitress in the kitchen (through the little plastic window) eating with her hands and putting her finger in her ear right before she brought food out… ummm eww?
Dessert tasted like it wasn’t kept at the right temperature, kind of spoiled tasting. I am freaked out a little that I ate this stuff but I was so hungry. The bathroom had one toilet, the other was out of order.
This place needs a staff/​food/​management makeover. Lots of TVs. I did not try the drinks. Everyone around us was eating pizza so maybe that is the way to go if you go here. Another couple near us sent back a plate of wings saying they were terrible but we didn’t try them.
Good things: The veggies were good and the rice pilaf tasted good. Lots of TVs with the game on. Our waitress was nice but needs to not eat and pick her ears while she’s serving. The other one didn’t seem to care much– maybe because we weren’t her table.
Sorry, can’t go back to this place or recommend it. =(I love to support local establishments but this one seemed to show a complete lack of care for their customers and product. I would rather see less specials and higher quality. Its only a deal if you can stomach it.
