Mellow Mushroom

yes, I adore this pizza. it is gorgeous. it is delicious. it makes me feel warm and fuzzy and whole inside… BUT. I am quite perturbed at the fact that ya’ll do not deliver. heart broken may be a better word. I am currently laid up with MONO and STREP and all my soul longs for is a gluten free mellowterranean pizza. but alas. I cannot have it. BECAUSE YA’LL DONT DELIVER. IT IS AN ACT OF SATAN.

I was so excited to find a Mellow Mushroom in my new town! We stopped by for lunch and both got sandwiches. The BF was smart enough to get the steak and cheese. We both loved it. I got the turkey and Swiss. I love the hoagie rolls here. Nice and soft with a crunchy exterior. Friendly service. I really love this place! Can’t wait to try their pizza!

this is a good place for pizza and sandwiches. they are vegetarian friendly.
prices are fair. the service is classic southern friendly. it takes a while to get
your food. it’s a staple here in wilmington.

Two hours is too long.
Maybe it wasn’t exactly two hours, maybe it was an hour and forty five minutes, but it was the second longest I’ve ever waited in a restaurant.
Our first order was dropped on the floor, so they had to make our order again. That’s all right, mistakes happen.
About an hour later… did she forget us? Our table was forgotten, and one of our party actually had to go ask about our order. It was sitting in the kitchen. To make up for the delay the waitress, which seemed very nice, offered free desert. I thought, «Wow, how nice,» and we said sure, that would be great, but thirty minutes later… we were still waiting. Forget it. We’re done.
A table next to us had two sets of people come and go before we left.
What did we order? One large pizza. One small pizza.
Cool atmosphere, but not worth the wait. Wish we had just got delivery.
For comparison, a couple of days later we went to Sweet n Savory Café with eight people and the food was far more elaborate, tasty, and we were in and out in an hour.

I’ve been to multiple mellows, and this one is by far my favorite. The food is always great and service has been good recently. The holy shiitake pie is wonderful. Their crust is amazing. Huge beer list, chill environment.

This is a chain restaurant but it sure doesn’t have food that tastes like it nor the atmosphere I love this place I have got a lot of varieties of food specially all different kinds of pizzas about any way you want it’s got a good atmosphere I’d recommend anybody to go here in order just about anything it would be good

Great pizza, but kind of pricy. I had pepperoni pizza and if was great. I would come back.

Pizza is KILLER. The service is ok. Totally worth the money – every time.
I really like the Philosopher’s Pie. It has an awesome flavor!

I have been to this establishment many times. Every time it is amazing. On my most recent trip from Jacksonville to Wilmington I stopped here to eat with my husband. We ordered a half meat lovers half Mediterranean pizza. Both halves were amazing! He loved his meat half. I was happily surprised that my half came with tzatziki sauce on the side to dip. Our server was so sweet. I also ordered the brochetta which was delicious. Every visit here is wonderful. Great job guys.

The service is great, and the pizza tastes decent as I’m eating it because the toppings are awesome, but it always makes me feel so sick afterward. Their pizza crust is just terrible… I think it must have some pretty strange ingredients. Every time I go here I tell myself I’m never coming back but for some reason I end up returning and getting another stomach ache. No other pizza has ever made me feel sick except mellow mushroom’s, and I know it actually is mellow mushroom because it happens every time.
Also, it’s bizarrely expensive for what it is… I appreciate their unique pizza toppings and all, but it’s not worth what they’re charging.
This time I mean it– I am NOT going back.

Great appetizers, calzones, and pizza. Awesome place to take the family, but they really need to work on the booths! Every time someone would move on either side of a booth. Both side’s would feel it.

Stopped in while in town on vacation. Good pizza and funky atmosphere. Really enjoyed the crunchy crust.

I love the vibe this place gives off. very chill. I’m a chill person so this is a comfortable setting. Pizza’s are really good and unique. Service has always been good. On different nights they have specials and fun activities. An over all good fun chill dining expirence.

Awesome place. Good pizza, great apps and awesome salads. Definitely coming back. Pizza crust is bomb too!

Ordering a regular cheese pizza i expected the norm– one to three cheeses blended with tomato sauce and crust. What i got was great crust and sauce mixed with enough cheeses to open their own French fromagerie. If you like cheese overload, Mellow mushroom is great. Otherwise, it may not be your best option.
The atmosphere and décor are really unique and cool though

So here’s the deal…
Excellent pizza. Great beers (I love pitchers). Salads and aps are good. Food earns a 4.5. That’s darn high in my book.
The service, while handled by smoking hot gals, is below average… it took way too long to get our initial drink order (wasn’t super busy either this time). The place needs a good scrubbing and some easy fixing up (example…the booths need work and if there’s people in the booth behind you, you’ll feel every little movement they make… which really stinks when you want to just sit and eat.
The pizza and beer make this an easy 4.5 stars but the few negatives drag the overall down to just an average 4. If mgmt reads even a few of the Unilocal reviews I’m sure it gets up to 4/5…because the food justifies it.

I like the food and I know what to expect as far as service (half of the teeth were missing out of his head, but pleasant) and atmosphere when dining here, but the kitchen is soooooo slow in getting out the food. We came in for lunch and we as well as a total of 6 guests already dinning, and it took 25 minutes for a cheese pizza, 2 salads (all iceberg), and 2 half subs (meatball and BLT). This is not the first time, but not surprising when I leave to get to my car three kitchen staff members and a waitress are smoking by the back dumpster pad. How they make money during lunch is beyond me?

Went here 3 times and it’s a okay place to me. If your looking for pizza then this a place to go for great pizzas but everything else on the menu is ehh. 2^nd I went I got a steak hoagie and it was just so dry and wasn’t very tasteful. 3^rd time I got a chicken calzone and there was so much cheese in it and it wasn’t a bad thing because I love cheese but goodness overload. Not a bad place to go to but for pizza then heck ya go here.

While in Wilmington on business with my wife and kids we decided to go and try different places around town based on reviews. This place was rated very high.
After going in with my family it seemed very Divey/​hipster friendly. It just wasn’t my thing.
The Pizza: The menu is a bit to take in… If you have read any of my other reviews I don’t eat pork and I found it a little difficult to find something that would accomidate my dietary restrictions. It is like I would start reading a menu description and find the pizza contained pork 14 – 15 indredients into the 20 toppings (no not really 20 toppings) but you know what I mean.
If I am back I’ll try again…

Amazing pizza creations and a beer list from heaven. Add in a decent seating area and quick service and you got a great restaurant.
Really have to give it up to the amazing draft/​bottle lists. Most pizza joints have a decent selection, but this goes above and beyond.
I suggest the potato skin pizza. Ranch dressing, potatoes and cheese. Yes.
